Fox News host Sean Hannity took some time out of his broadcast Monday night
to deliver a direct message to Fox News viewers, telling them to
"take the coronavirus pandemic seriously!!” and
declaring that he "believes in the science of vaccination.”

Amid a frightening surge of coronavirus cases and hospitalizations
due to the rapid spread of the Delta variant and stagnating vaccination rates,
Fox News has come under intense fire in recent days over its hosts and pundits
relentlessly peddling trump-vaccine hesitancy and skepticism.

While many Fox News anchors and hosts,  including Sean Hannity, 
seemed to make a concerted effort on Monday to push viewers to get vaccinated,
others like Brian Kilmeade and dumbass Phucker Carlson continued to
defend trump-vaccine-hesitant Americans  and  to fearmonger

“Just like we’ve been saying, please take COVID seriously,” Hannity exclaimed.
“I can’t say it enough. Enough people have died. We don’t need any more death.
Take it seriously... it absolutely makes sense for Americans to get vaccinated.

Claiming  It’s ‘Safe And Effective’

House minority whip Steve Scalise, the second-highest ranking House Republican,
revealed that he got his first COVID-19 vaccine dose on Sunday amid growing
concern over the rapidly-spreading Delta variant.

For months, Scalise told reporters he would get vaccinated "soon,"
but said he thought he had some immunity to the coronavirus because
he had antibodies from what he believed was a mild infection.

This week, Scalise struck a different tone,
calling the COVID-19 vaccines "safe and effective."

"Especially with the Delta variant becoming a lot more aggressive and
seeing another spike, it was a good time to do it. When you talk to
people who run hospitals, in New Orleans or other states,
90% of people in hospital with delta variant have not been vaccinated.
That's another signal the vaccine works."

People want to make their own decisions even if they are poor ones.  They don't want to be forced to do anything.  It's like riding a bike without a helmet.  Sadly, the wake up call is always too late.

Hannity's support for vaccination doesn't replace 18 months of covid and vaccine disinformation.  Fox news must do much more to undo all the damages.  Apparently, Fox anti-vaccine campaign isn't over because mixed messages continue with other hosts.  Carlson and Ingraham are still questioning vaccines.

Addressing the media in Birmingham on Thursday, Ivey added "I want folks to get vaccinated. That's the cure. That prevents everything". The statement comes after the US state of Alabama saw a recent spike in the COVID-19 cases.

Provincetown issues a new mask mandate
amid Covid-19 case surge after Fourth of July

The Provincetown cluster is part of a broader increase in cases across the country,
although the impact has been blunted in New England by high vaccination rates.

In Massachusetts the past two weeks, the seven-day average of new confirmed
infections has doubled, and hospitalizations have ticked up very slightly
but deaths have remained flat at low levels, according to state data.

About 63.5% of all Massachusetts residents are fully vaccinated,
the second-highest rate of any US state.
Studies have shown that the trump-vaccine, while not 100% effective,
helps protect against infection as well as severe illness from Covid-19.
