so this is a true statement by trump? when Trump said Democrats, including vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, “execute” babies after they are born
Its amazing how the trumpers still cant admit that their boy got his clock cleaned. Unlike the democrats , myself included said biden got his clock cleaned by trumpo at the debate. Trumpers just cant spit those words out.

A voter panel ruled a winner
They already lost the intelligence factor when the debate was not up for a win/loss decision....anyone who was on that panel has already lost all credibility...they can certainly form an opinion, but they cannot declare a winner/loser unless there was some competition taking place where the definitive decision had to result in a winner and a loser for record purposes....just amazing that people will fall for or be so gullible for anything just to claim victory...
Sad state of affairs really...

KAMALA won the debate!
WASHINGTON POST -
In the first presidential debate between Vice President
Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump,
The Washington Post tried something new:
We asked a group of uncommitted, swing-state voters,
in real time, about their reactions to Tuesday’s debate.
They thought Harris performed better,
regardless of how they plan to vote in November.
Harris performed better: 23 votes
Trump performed better: 2 votes

I cannot vote in a US election (I'd like to....) b/c I am not a citizen, I did watch the debate and have an unbiased opinion.
FACTS: Pennsylvania will decide the election--Trump is likely going to win Ohio, Florida, N. Carolina, so this is a must win blue wall for Harris.Dems have a numerical advantage of at least 370,000 registrants. So any Republican candidate is at a significant numerical disadvantage in Pa. Rural voters will go for Trump across the US ( Ihave been to Wash state and witnessed even this blue state has a "Trump Country" in Eastern Washington). Rural Pennsylvanians are different than inner city Pennsylvanians (I have been there, too, and what they say is absolutely true. Only suburban voters, independendents could put a dent into the Dem numerical advantage.
This debate in Pa was for Pennsylvanians who will decide the 2024 election.
I think both candidates did well, but Kamala did outperform expectations and did extraordinarily well.
Kamala must have a very talented team on her side, because we have not seen her perform this well. The split camera allowed viewers to see reactions to each other, and the contrast probably won her many voters--she was coached to smile, even look innocently shocked as Trump went on his usual attacking style, very 'stabby' is his normal way to attack an opponent, so much so the viewer almost has empathy for the 'vicitm.' Trump's stern demeanor contrasted with her relaxed smiles. Maybe you can accuse her of being "vapid" but in an election and you need to sway independent voters, it is empathy that counts. She looked vulnerable while he was speaking, and people gravitate towards the vulnerable.
Trump failed in the same areas that he has failed before---he says too much. He gets off focus easily. Harris made a brilliant move by calling him out, baiting him actually, by saying "...people leave his rallies early out of boredom...." Trump foolishly took that bait and went on the attack. She played the vulnerable person and allowed him to be off task defending himself.
She brought up past hoaxes ("fine people" hoax and the military "fools and losers" comments and a few other hoaxes, and these have been debunked but by bringing these up, they put Trump off task. It isn't honest maybe, but this is politics, and Trump does bear some responsibility. After Charlotesville, he spoke too much, tries to enter into minutiae and show people he's in charge (or I don't know wth he's thinking) and he makes mistakes in clarity. He did this when interupting Drs and health professionals during COVID, and proceeded to venture into soem commentary about the effectiveness of a kind of bleach therapy....again, this is Trump who STILL does not see that peoiple do not need to hear from him. He doesn't have to be the expert all the time. Biden rarely comments on news events as they happen. He expertly deflects. Of course Biden is not healthy now, but when on his game, he knew how to dodge edgy questions. Trump makes these traps for himself, and Kamala's team made him pay for his bluntness and attempts at transparency. Maybe it's not "fair" you say, but hey, this is politics.

Harris team is spending the rest of the campaign in Pa, and this is smart, too. They don't need Florida, Ohio, N. Carolina, and can hold Trump off in Pa.
I see a Harris victory in Pa, a large margin of victory in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and sizeable wins in the suburbs. I don't think Harris will do well in rural areas, but it won't matter.
Lastly, I don't see a substantial difference between the two in their policies, esp global politics. They are both very pro Israel, and this is problematic for Palestine.
I was pleased with Harris remark, call it an initiative, for a "two state solution." Sadly the US was the only dissenting vote, because of "security issues." I don't think Israel will ever agree to a Palestine state and either Kamala or trump would agree (sadly). I also think they are both leading a nation in decline as far as "soft power" The US is no longer a moral leader, and no longer the sole economic power. This is called change.
I think either candidate will be supporting any war against Iran. The US is led by bureacracies, not by the voters or by the President elect. Democracy is threatened by a "tyranny of bureacracies" from within. They have the power and they know it.
I don't think it's possible to chase the past and Make America Great Again. Chasing the past is a mistake always. Embracing changes even if negative in your view, is still better than attempting impossibilities. So Kamal's messaging is slightly better.
Can't see anything but a slim victory for the neolibs, and the end of MAGA as a movement.

So what exactly was won again? Was she given a gift? Is she already President? What exactly was won here again because this makes no sense...what was the criteria for winning? Was this disclosed up front or just made up after the fact? Did they shower after to clean up from the win they earned? I mean to designate as a win/loss there had to be a basis and some criteria disclosed to designate a winner and loser...I don't recall that taking place...in fact, I don't recall ANY Presidential debate of two or more candidates where there was ever a designated winner or designated loser for either team....does anyone have the records of win/losses for Presidential debates that can be viewed? Do we need Biff? Presidential election results, sure, but a debate? Wow, can't believe I missed this record setting win after all these years of watching debates on television....must have been triumphant...

Sorry sir, I don't mean to imply she won anything except the minds of independents--and Pennsylvania had a lot more independents this year, and notably the repubs got a 23,000 voter registration flip (dems who flipped to repub).
These independents are such a significant number that both candidates must reach them, persuade them, either by being relaxed, casual, vulnerable (Kamala) or by scaring off ind voters with fear for the future (Trump).
Kamala risked losing the debate if she were not well prepared. Voters don't know her at all, I mean ind voters in Pa.
Trump could have mentioned the fact ( a fact that disturbed many democrats) that Kamala disenfranchised millions of voters and "threatened our democracy" by leap frogging the primaries. This is a first in US history!!! Why was Trump not prepared to say that? Why was Trump not prepared for a Jan 6 question, an event already 4 years old?? Ok he did look empathetic mentioning Ashley Babbit....but he fumbled the ball there.
He is good at debating anyone, that is proven, b/c he is difficult and answers questions the way he likes, and is aggressive. But he is overrated, and in this instance, was ill prepared, or at least showed weaknesses.
His biggest weakness has always been to stop hoaxes in their tracks. He could have said "Even Snopes has said this is a hoax..." He always takes the punches, then fires back with punches of his own, but lets the haoxes stick. Again, it's like a turonver, a pick 6.
For someone who is lauded for "understanding the blue collar worker," he fails to communicate to simple people who go by feelings, how someone makes them feel. Has he had no time to reflect on how to improve? The Harris team just did little short passes, small yardage gains, and Trump was throwing downfield every play, confident of a TD....but this doesn't reach apolitical people who don't know about Gaza, Ukraine, Jan6, and are just now making up their minds to vote...this is the (sad) reality, but it is what it is. Harris' team knows this. They are not sophisticated, committed voters, and they are moving the ball downfield. Trump team is not bad, but they have too much confidence in Trump or are misguiding him.
Harris just has to stay low, make appearances in urban Pa, let the DNC get those registrations and ballots in, and run the clock out. Sorry if you're a Trump supporter...there is always a loser, but he has not learned to play the game, so it is on him and the team he has selected.

The American debate is kind of fascinating and also surprisingly superficial.
Nowhere in Europe would a moderator be allowed to insinuate racism. It would mortify anyone, make them blush with embarrasment or passout (I have seen that happen!). So I was surprised when Trump got asked about his comments (typical cutting sarcasm in Trump style). Trump "lost" again by not being presidential and saying, "I' not gonna answer questions like that. Let's move beyond race in this nation, come together for a common purpose...."
He did say "She can identify as whatever she wants...." Acceptable, but could have been more. This allowed Kamala to make a three pargraph reply calling for racial unity and ending division. Again, she moved the ball downfield. Reached voters. Meanwhile voters are wondering WTH Trump is doing saying the quiet parts out loud. I guess Trump supports find that humorous. But sarcasm isn't always automatically funny, and sarcasm doesn't always show how pointed your observations are, for "calling out fakery" or whatever. People want to feel good, and these independent voters are, as Karl Rove said, "cat ladies who want to cuddle and be cuddled" and so updetting them with pointed comments is detrimental.
Why has Trump not mastered this? He needs to try reach all Americans or not?
He didn't do horribly bad, but it appears Kamala moved the ball, and he threw some incomplete passes.
I think he tried to nail her down as anti frakking ( think if she were agaisnt frakking she loses Pennsylvania by tens of thousands of votes b/c of jobs tied to it.) but his aggression to nail her on it was drowned out by all his other sarcastic and bitter remarks.
I didn't feel it for him, but I don't live in Pa, work and breathe there.
..................
I don't think either candidate changes anything. The Amer government is run by a "tyranny of bureacracies" who make all major policies. Yes, this happened to Ancient Rome. Nothing new under the Sun. Both candidates will follow the dictates of these bureacracies. Obama was friendly, congenial, a great speaker---but the CIA devastated the Middle East, and the Banksters looted the Treasury....and Trump gives these same entities all they want--he won't "drain the swamp" (lol). There is nothing to get stressed about. Rome evolved into something else, and so ewill America, and it might be for the better--who knows?
I do think Kamala offers something different in personality, and personalities do have a trickle down effect, but how to measure that? The military is not happy with morale right now, and noone can poll them b/c like any military, you are not allowed to speak out against the Commander in Chief, but the withdrawal and unconditional surrender and loss of life and expensive weapons was an historical and epic embarrasment for them; The Ukraine planning is not going well (understatement) but who is advising the bureacracies that you can defeat a superpower with 100 million more population dvantage? The genocide in Gaza is horrifying people across the planet and Biden seems unable to control Bibi N.
This maybe was a small victory for Trump....but Kamal did mention the military with esteem and gratitude, and so she is coached to be aware there are problem in the ilitary with Biden's performnace as CiC. But again, she moved the ball a liitle bit on that score. Trump looked hostile, and she looked victimized .
Great debate for me entertainment wise, and sad there isn't another.Don't think trumpo would change, however, so best to avoid it.

I’ll remind you as you seem to have forgotten that Joe Biden beat Donald Trump by 7 million votes from his basement! HIS BASEMENT…….Trump is on the ropes early this time around and the GOP are looking at the thought of how in the hell will they get rid of this huge hemorrhoid that will refuse to take a powder like Joe Biden did when his shelf life was deemed and expired! Trump has damaged the GOP for years to come, and the off shoot coccus’s at like water and oil when it comes time to vote!
