Prosecutor Hagan Scotten wrote an epic resignation letter to Dep AG Emil Bove after refusing to dismiss the corruption case against NYC Mayor Eric Adams: “Any Asst US Attorney would know that our laws and traditions do not allow using the prosecutorial power to influence other citizens, much less elected officials, in this way. If no lawyer within earshot of the president is willing to give him that advice, then I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me. Please consider this my resignation.”
Before the Donald and MAGA start trashing Scotten as a radical left Marxist, I point out that Scotten is a Republican, won two bronze stars in Iraq, and clerked for Supreme Court Justices Kavanaugh and Roberts.
I believe 3 more prosecutors in the SDNY also refused to partake in the circus & resigned. When the case was moved to DC, two more prosecutors refused to be part of this farce & resigned as well. Eventually, someone will sell their soul & become a pawn to this illegal quid pro quo.

President Musk launched his new DOGE website and promptly posted classified information about intelligence officials. The HuffPost reported “DOGE posted classified information about the size and staff of a U.S. intelligence agency on its new website, raising bigger concerns about where Musk’s programmers got this information and what they are doing with it.”
“An easy search shows that DOGE’s database provides details on the National Reconnaissance Office, the federal agency that designs, builds and maintains U.S. intelligence satellites. Not only are NRO’s budgets and head counts classified, but the prospect of Musk’s tech team meddling in sensitive personnel information is setting off alarms for some in the intelligence community.”
Ladies & Gentlemen, these are NOT small fuckups & our enemies in the past paid dearly for this information. If this continues, they won't need to spy on us because we're giving away the ranch due to these little sucklings.

The top 10% of earners, that is the 90th percentile, have an annual salary of $98,611. The highest Probation Officer salary in the United States was $111,179.
and:
The VA announced Thursday that roughly 2.3% of its "probationary" workforce -- those who competed for jobs but had less than a year at the VA or employees appointed to specific positions without going through the standard federal hiring process and have served less than two years -- were dismissed effective immediately.
So, yes, it is very conceivable that it is at least that amount.

Flat out sickening, that people elected criminals to run our country. People who voted for dickhead trump and his band of dumb fucks are going to go in the history books as the reason Our Country got destroyed. Our own citizens are doing it.

They are talking about "probationary" employees not seasoned experienced staffing. It's pretty easy to look up.
A probationary period federal worker at the VA will typically fall within a salary range based on their specific job title and grade level, but generally , considering that most VA employees under "Title 38" are subject to a two-year probationary period and can earn significantly higher salaries compared to standard federal "Title 5" employees.

Yes. Those generally start at 64-65k. from my understanding they are also including the higher paid ones that are taking the buyouts as well. These are making up to 135k.
So, for sure, on average I could easily see 98M.
But if all you look at are the new ones — that would be at least 64M. Still a very high number.

STOP FEEDING THE COUNTRY BULLSHIT! The Dept of Veterans Affairs has fired 1,000 probationary employees. A statement issued said this will save $98 million a year. And the administration wants us to believe these folks were costing us 98K a year???? I find this insulting to our intelligence.
Anybody with experience budgeting for government union employees (I fall in that category) knows full well union benefits like vacation and sick or personal time, retirement, health care benefits, etc. more times than not exceed the total of a base wage. Add them together to get a true cost.
There is nothing insulting with 1000 govt union employees costing an average of 98K in the year 2025. Surprised it's not more.

And these people will no longer be employed or be receiving benefits.
So you're saying these probationary employees were making more in benefits than their salaries? Benefits don't even kick until at least 90 days of employment. We're talking about folks that have been there 2 years or less. Most companies budget 30% to cover benefits.
You have a "probationary employee" making 50k a year & that's generous & 30% in benefits comes to 65k. Far less than the 98k a year by about 50%. I totally understand some may be making more than 50k while others are making less.
Just don't trust the number.

National Nuclear Security Administration officials on Friday attempted to notify some employees who had been let go the day before that they are now due to be reinstated but they struggled to find them because they didn't have their new contact information.
In an email sent to employees at NNSA and obtained by NBC News, officials wrote, “The termination letters for some NNSA probationary employees are being rescinded, but we do not have a good way to get in touch with those personnel.”
The individuals the letter refers to had been fired on Thursday and lost access to their federal government email accounts. NNSA, which is within the Department of Energy and oversees the nation's nuclear stockpile, cannot reach these employees directly and is now asking recipients of the email, “Please work with your supervisors to send this information (once you get it) to people’s personal contact emails.”
You mean they don't have their home or cell phone numbers? Those are provided once you get hired.
They can't be that dumb? There must be something else to this story.

According to gogovernment.org in the private sector union employee benefits represent 39.9% of total compensation on average. Pretty sure govt worker union benefits are better.

You are assuming they are all brand new startup employees. I have not heard that to be the case. Just because they are on a probationary period does not mean they are making the minimum salary. Top guy there was making 435k and the average pay is over 100k.
So, it is very easy for the salary of these guys to average around 98k.
For example, a Doctor or a Pharmacist on a probationary period is obviously making better pay than a Recreational Specialist or an Examiner. Even the Social Workers are making 90k. Psychiatrist 263k. Anesthesiologist 435k. Nurse practitioner 148k. Emergency Medicine Physician 354k.
I am sure they got some of these higher salaried folks that were transitioning to these jobs from other places. I am sure some of the higher paid executives/administrators got cut as well.
Some of these jobs with higher pay would move that average up very quickly.
Importantly, a probationary period is not limited only to new employees entering the federal workforce for the first time. Employees who move into the Senior Executive Service, for example, or those who take an extended break from working for the federal government before returning to work at an agency, will usually have to complete a one-year probationary period.
Would you rather they have said 'at least 78M', since that is the average salary.
It could easily have been much higher if they had just cut all of the highest probationary jobs because some of them start well in 6 figures.
So, maybe they really tallied it up or gave a good estimate based on their salaries.
Nonetheless, 98M or 78M is still a good amount of savings.

Where are our leaders such as university presidents and academics, clerics, business leaders, retired military officers, lawyers, physicians, scientists etc?
You cannot fire so many people and shutter so many agencies and services and not expect things to start to go very bad very quickly. Some of you in here suggested ot just "blow everything up." You're getting you wish & you must be so fucking happy.
Where's the outrage of the young people? Don’t they think that they are going to affected by this shit for years to come?
Maybe people will wake up when their Social Security checks or their tax refunds don't arrive as expected. Ironically, red states will feel the effects sooner than most. Alabama's biggest employers is the Federal government & scientists/researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham who depend on funding from the federal government will be dramatically impacted.
Amazingly, all of these cuts are illegal & Musk has absolutely no power to enforce these edicts. So why are the heads of these departments & agencies carrying out the craziness? If they think they will keep their jobs, they are sadly mistaken.
As soon as employees read their termination emails, access to all systems will be revoked. Word is getting around to gather any data they may need before reading the email. I wouldn't open the email & just show up to work on Monday like nothing ever happened. Someone could probably carry a clipboard around for months before someone asks "what the hell are you still doing here?"
Wait until funding for HUD is impacted. Families will be back on the streets or sleeping in their cars again. FEMA will be impacted as well.
Measles is spreading & doubling each day in Texas & not a peep out of the administration, specifically RFK
This isn't some "chicken little" bullshit. It's happening right before our eyes.

Don't see measles "doubling daily". The State of Texas has responded and is investigating. Just like the State of Washington has done in 2019 and I believe 2022.

Border states have been seeing 'elsewhere' diseases for years and years after large surges. Then sanctuary cities see them.
Then you couple all of that with the idiotic Wuhan policies that forced folks into lockdowns. This caused a huge drop in younger kids missing their shots.
This was a concern at the time and pointed out as a real possibility a couple of years ago.
Another great example of 'unintended consequences' from Leftist policies.

NBC; The termination notices, which read “effective today,” came within hours of a Russian drone striking the Chernobyl power plant in Ukraine.
An Energy Department spokesperson disputed the number of personnel affected, saying “less than 50 people” were “dismissed” from NNSA, and that the dismissed staffers “held primarily administrative and clerical roles.”

Senior citizens are still the strongest most dominant voting block. Couple that with a small business owner (my wife runs the company & I'm just a figurehead President) with strong ethical values, we still have a powerful voice in this country whether you like it or not.
