I don't know the exact cause and it's possible it's a collective sentiment over time, but Americans now harbor an anti-intellectualism stance. It's not important to know concrete information that's factual. These individuals strongly believe life experience and experimentation are the keys to becoming smarter. Yes, there's some truth to that but you also need the requisite knowledge for specific subjects before you get into that experimentation. Let's focus on English. Many Americans don't care about those classes. They don't care about how they form sentences and how they sound. I think that's extremely strange since language is the main form of communication we have. You need to express your points accurately. Do you think that's accomplished when you phrase yourself in a crass manner that's offensive? Occasionally, perhaps. Generally, though, you will not convince intelligent people you know what you're talking about when you don't articulate properly. Despite what people may think on here, I'm actually much more informal/colloquial in person. I know how to use slang and just shoot the shit. Anyway, this is a huge problem for Americans and America. Do we want to be the best country in the world and dictate terms? UNLIKE the recent election where 74% of republicans actually believe it was stolen from trump by ELECTION FRAUD, the 2016 loss didn't appear to be lamented as losing by actual FRAUD... My colleagues and I ALL AGREE that 2016 election tabulation was fair and honest -- no fraud -- but they/and I were bummed that the "October Surprises" (wikileaks, James Comey in particular but the Russians also) were sufficient enough to swing SOME VOTES against her in key states in the final weeks (remember she DID win the popular vote by 2.9 million - so there was NO FRAUD!)

Respect your opinion, but I do not think the situations are the same. After all, American intelligence agencies did conclude that Russia and others did develop and coordinate highly sophisticated disinformation campaigns to sway the election. The claims of Hilary supporters was not that American voters cheated their own voting systems and election. There also is not a single intelligence agency in America that supported Trumpers claims of widespread voter election fraud.
