The reason the china leaned on North Korea so hard is because they were fearful of President Trump.
Do you remember when President Trump launched the missile attack into Syria?? Well he did it while eating with the leader of china, who got the report when the president went to use the restroom. All the papers stated that the Chinese papers said that they respected Trump because "He will do what he says and is Sincere."
Sincere is the best label you can get in East Asia.
