Is about as Republican and loyal as a man can get. He is sickened by the current president. Disgusted. I suppose there is a completely acceptable answer for this but it totally escapes me. Let's hear it for Trump, again, as another respected, loyal American patriot goes over the hill. Or is he as treasonous as all the others that have bailed on Donnie?

They'll call him a RINO. That's always the answer. Apparently you can't think for yourself in the two major political parties. Is you depart from the company line in the republican party, they call you a RINO. In the democratic party they call you stupid. Or if you're black and conservative they call you a sell-out... uncle tom... oreo, ect.
TIME TO BRING BACK THE OBAMA CAGES!

The Republican Party is vastly owned by Mr. Donald J Trump nowadays, it resembles nothing like the Reagan's or Bushes'. How will this change? It's all about governing power, party switching will realign the course. Cast your votes on Nov. 3.

You do have a point Stu; and I would like to compliment you on discussing the point, instead of just blathering unintelligible loyalist garbage, devoid of any worthwhile content whatsoever. Or, falling back on an old and massively incorrect assumption.

Colin Powell ,who I admire as a military hero was a false conservative... As Secretary of State,, he was the face that misled the nation and the world about the WMD threat posed by Iraq before the war,,,that justified the US invasion of Iraq. It looks like at heart he was always a die hard liberal who found it to his military advantage to be a false Republican during his time moving up the ranks in the US military..
No Republican votes for Obama twice and Hillary Rodman Clinton can be called a RINO,, that's an out and out blue blooded Democ-rat..If,Powell's address to the UN about WMD's was a lie so was Powell's claim that he voted for Obama twice because the Republican Party has gone too far right wing for his moderate views... Can anyone really believe Mitt Romney or John McCain represented the extreme right wing ?
Having said all that about Colin Powell..some of the things he has said while still a military leader still stick with me many years later.. One of my fav's (paraphrasing) When you are addressing an important decision.. think long and hard then act with stealth..This got me through a few times..
Colin Powell needs to stop living the lie and pretending himself a ‘moderate’ Republican and that his party affiliation is the Republican Party..time to come clean Colin..

C'mon Slim. The WMD excuse was all a figment of Dubyas mind. He had plenty of information otherwise but wanted Hussein so bad he was going to go with whatever he had. The CIA told him very bluntly "NO WMD's". Besides, Harry Truman would have bluntly told him "The buck stops here." YOU make the decision, YOU pull the trigger. Let's knock it off with this "he was a victim of bad advice and bad information crap. The last president that accepted responsibility for his administration, good or bad advice, good or bad decision, good or bad result, was BARRACK OBAMA.

McTranny, aside from all your other despicable aspects, most of them below considerations for intelligent human life, you are aslo one of the most offensive trolls to ever join any forum. I don't recall seeing an add for someone like you so you must have sent in a resume accompanied by a big bribe. No wonder mods are disappearing around here; probably getting caught letting class A a-holes like you into any forum. Stop shaking your head, your brain rattles like a bb in a boxcar.

Divide and conquer? You seem to lose the argument do to motivation? What is the motivation to create this fuedal system again??? The power you continuously rave about authorization to create a monarchy system is not working. Power is too widely shared to create an emporer ruled authorization leveled governance.
The one church one king one rule is forbidden without God's approval. This is my opinion if such a system could exist it would. But although flawed the motion of the world away from empirical system was destroyed by the new world order....

The entirety of the war is fought with a principal interest of allowing choice when it came to reproductive mating systems between male and female.... The whole thing was about human descency and the right not to be raped.... And the fight continues today... We have the right to food clothing shelter health care shelter and the ability to pursue our happiness with human descency free from the fear of want of these things.... That is what the sinister un is doing in their Rio plus 20 goals. As part of their on going dialogue to sustainable development.

Thank you for that profound visceral reaction coming from the bottom of your reptilian brain. That means that the question that you didn't answer, hit on a truth so upsetting to you, that the only response you could muster was the usual lowest common denominator adhominen attack that all trolls use as a defense mechanism.

Any amount of unbiased research online will show this to be untrue — but, it is the narrative the Left has spun. An example, of repeating something often and loud enough — and most folks will fall for it.

This is blatantly incorrect. You can go online and read the majority of the report. Or you can simply take it from Michael Hayden himself — or many others.
Let's knock it off with this "he was a victim of bad advice and bad information crap.
You can argue whether he should come out and say this or not — to make himself not look so bad. But you cannot say this was untrue. You cannot hold two opposing views at the same time and expect them both to be right. Obviously, the information provided by the intelligence community was either faulty or not. And either the decision makers believed the intelligence or they did not. The intelligence at this point looks faulty and the decision makers felt obligated to act on it — not act against it.

No idea at all what this means? Obama WAS the last president, period — to do, or not do, anything. Or did you think there were presidents between Obama and Trump? And as we are seeing now this is not even the case with Obama, either.
But carry on.

This premise is misleading. It assumes he was a Conservative Republican — he never has been, or even claimed to be. It also assumed he once supported Trump — he never has, or claimed to, that I know of.
I see Slim already said some of the things I was going to point out.
Because of my situation I have met him a few times and he is a very nice, friendly, and smart guy. His service to the country is admirable and worthy of respect. I also think his position could have been used to help spread some of his good ideas and views to some of the areas of the black community that could use a voice they might heed — should he ever have the inclination. But that does not mean I see him as a Conservative Republican — most people do not.
He is a perfect example of someone that you can respect, and even admire, even though they have dissenting views from you. Party affiliation is not a hinderance to that.
See the excerpt and link below to see some of his views. Then you can decide if you think he was ever a Conservative Republican for yourself:
Powell is known for his willingness to support liberalor centrist causes.[85] He is pro-choiceregarding abortion, and in favor of "reasonable" gun control.[85][clarification needed] He stated in his autobiography that he supports affirmative actionthat levels the playing field, without giving a leg up to undeserving persons because of racial issues. Powell was also instrumental in the 1993 implementation of the military's don't ask, don't tellpolicy,[85] though he later supported its repeal as proposed by Robert Gatesand Admiral Mike Mullenin January 2010, saying "circumstances had changed."[86]

Let me warn you and only one time...you entered HIS thread and posted an antagonistic reply to his comment not made to you specifically, then you go and complain about his reply to yours?
If you choose to attack or provoke someone in a thread they created then be prepared that we will not allow such behavior and to maybe refrain from replying if you cannot be respectful...especially in this circumstance.

So your saying that Covers knowingly allows a disinformation troll farm to operate and then uses a double standard to enforce only the people who dare call them out? I have been attacked the same way by these same disinformation trolls in my threads. And where were you? What and who are you trying to protect?

Let it go brother and we will keep doing what we do

No wonder mods are disappearing around here; probably getting caught letting class A a-holes like you into any forum. Stop shaking your head, your brain rattles like a bb in a boxcar.
You are talking about President GW Bush and President Truman ..why deflect to another topic?..C'mon Key,,Your thread title is about Colin Powell as was my post...If you are going to make an attempt to answer to my post comment..Please bring your "A"game or retreat for a little while.
On that February 5 in front of the U.N. Security Council,Colin Powell certain what he was saying was accurate.
Later, regarding whether Iraq had reconstituted a nuclear weapons program, he said:
POWELL: There is no doubt in my mind …
Powell had no doubt that he was presenting the truth.. and that he was not lying to The American people and to all the Nations in the UN ?
If you want to bring GW into the conversation now ..Ok ..If the CIA told President Bush very bluntly "NO WMD's" why and more importantly how could Powell spent four days and nights in a CIA conference room with top officials of the CIA trying to ensure the accuracy of the presentation..and then the CIA tell the President something different at the same time?
That would mean the CIA was telling the President something different, than Colin Powell at the same time and that President GWBush did not tell Powell the CIA was lying to him..that's a pretty good stretch ..and one I would have to see the proof to believe.
