23 states filed lawsuit against Trump administration for weakening auto emission standards.  Tougher standards are essential to protect air quality, public health and prevent the worst effects of climate change.  Independent scientists refute Trump administration's claim that lower car prices would encourage drivers to replace older cars with more fuel efficient ones.  Even EPA experts warn that lower standards would be detrimental to public safety instead of beneficial.  For 50 years, California has been allowed to set tougher standards.  No legal basis for revoking state authority except for Trump politics.  Two US courts have already upheld California emission standards.

Recently, millions of people in over 150 countries protest to demand world leaders adopt urgent measures to avert climate crisis.  Shameful that young people need to protest since adults are supposed to be responsible for their safety.
