Hard to get tired of a subject when you posted one comment.  Then when you were questioned about the comment posted several comments NOT about the question or the comment.  

I think they call that something besides being tired.

I am sorry for your situation early in life like that.  Glad into worked out so well after that.  But I am not sure a landlord — socialist or capitalist — should be obligated to take a deal, just because you can’t pay rent.  Sure, he could. It would even be nice if he would.  But I don’t think even a socialist is obligated to do that.  If times are tough all around and he had done that for one person — then he would be obligated to do it for everyone.  If you are a landlord everyone will always have a reason they cannot pay the rent.  Sure, you can take it case by case.  But you can’t just let people not pay their rent every time something comes up.  You would not be a landlord very long!

One of the issues NPR was talking about was, Philadelphia I think, has put a hold on evictions.   Now that is going to put a strain on the landlords to make their payments, etc.  I think one place they used as an example lady said she pays 750 — she could not pay, but felt obligated to pay something she said to avoid getting too far behind, so she paid half.  The landlord said he usually has 9000 a month coming in.  Last month he had 1150 come in.  He, of course, now cannot pay his bills and the building mortgage etc.  At any rate you can see how this is not a good example, no matter your philosophy.  

I also do not see a reason at 17 to intentionally break the ankle of someone that had nothing to do with what their dad did.  Especially, as by all accounts all had worked out in 5 years time.

That is very weird to me.

First, I didn't intentionally break his ankle. I was breaking up a double play & he had his foot on top of the base instead of a corner & shit happens.

Secondly, in the GF forum you'll see we have been landlords since 2006 & we have not accepted a rent payment from a waitress/bartender from Chilli's until she goes back to work. Her rent is not going to make/break my family just like the landlord when I was a kid. Being in the same position now, I choose to help a fellow human being rather than stressing her out further like he did to my family. Somethings you just don't forgive & forget. 

Lastly, I'm not passionate about capitalism/socialism and it probably showed in my responses. I believe in a good mixture of both. In my experience Republicans I've met in my life are not as compassionate & are more worried about someone taking something from them than sharing what they got. What we have achieved didn't come without the help of others.

Trump administration has made the US less prepared for a pandemic.  According to Propublica, deregulation has weaken safety standards and enforcements from Occupational safety and health agency. As a result, millions of essential workers could be left out of coronavirus workplace safety measures.  During the Obama administration, OSHA took additional steps to safeguard workers health in swine flu pandemic.  Now OHSA doesn't do much inspections at workplaces and isn't even on the white house coronavirus task force.  Healthcare workers comprise 10-20% of coronavirus cases but more of them are getting sick or dying.  Alarming that OSHA is failing to lead efforts to protect workers.

The Miami Herald has been trying to find out how many residents have passed away in our numerous statewide assisted living and nursing homes. Governor DeSantis hasn't been able to produce the requested figures.

Plenty of these facilities nationwide are experiencing many deaths. Can't believe that God's Waiting Room here in Florida isn't experiencing similar results. DeSantis has banned the Miami Herald from attending any of his press conferences & thankfully they are a thorn in his side.

The #1 priority of any president is to protect the citizens of the country.

Trump has abdicated those responsibilities to the Governors.

Rather he takes time to tweet support of uprisings in states where "stay at home" policies are in effect in a attempt to undermine governors of those states.

Hey Senators, Burr, Loeffler, Feinstein and Inhofe we are all practicing stay at home orders and can't visit out brokers.

Since Tues, the network has mentioned Whitmer and the protests over 90 times across 15 shows. I've watched them lately to get a better understanding of where they get these guests to come on their shows and spew total bullshit like phony Dr. Phil the other night.

This is what FOX does & has been doing for decades. Ingraham was the worst of what I saw. Her interview where she tried to put words in the mouth of Dr. Fauci was a blatant attempt to color the truth but the good doctor didn't fall from any of it & she eventually gave up. Ingraham is one of the religious right wing fanatics who had a crisis of faith when Romney lost in 2012.

Carlson had Roger Stone on the air so he could plead for mercy for all the dirty tricks he performed over his life. He needs some time in prison before his partner in crime gives him a pardon.

Hannity's former lawyer is under house arrest & is taking his turn at writing a book about this experience in the gutter with Trump et al. It will probably be a best seller. 

Trump encouraging civil unrest during a pandemic will rank up there with his 5,000 most ludicrous comments.

Trump plays politics with every single issue.  He takes credit for governors successes and blames them for his failures.  Inadequate testing is the weakness in his plan to reopen US economy.  Guidelines do not provide any plan to increase testing capacity.  At least 3 million tests per week are necessary according to John Hopkins center for health security.  But barely 3 million tests have been completed in 3 months .  Although a federal testing program is necessary, Trump refuses to accept responsibility and chooses to pass the buck to states.  However many states lack resources for massive testing, contact tracing and isolation.  Without federal support, states compete against each other for medical supplies.  Shortages are preventing more testing according to Association of American medical colleges.  Without testing data, governments might blindly lift restrictions that risk another wave of disease and shutdown of economy.

Don't blame socialism, Pres. Trump has done it here to aid American farmers. I like to see people getting helped by the government when they are suffered by the Covid-19 pandemic. Socialism can and does co-exist well with capitalism.  

According to factcheck.org, Trump falsely claims US has lower coronavirus mortality rates than all other countries.  However John Hopkins university reports at least 90 countries have lower fatality rates than the US.  Despite a conspiracy theory, doctor Fauci says there is no evidence that US is overcounting coronavirus deaths. 

Wow...all I can say is wow.   Our President is encouraging these protestors to completely break social distancing guidelines.  Isn't it funny that they are all states with Democratic governors. In a time where we need the country to be coming together, he is working hard to tear it apart, all in the name of political gain.  He is just chomping at the bit to get his circus rallies started back up, although he has been using his press briefings as a substitute for them, it's just not the same.  

PeterBlack is right.  These protestors are idiots and Trump's incitement of liberation endanger lives in a pandemic.  According to Quinnipiac poll, 81% of Americans agree with stay at home orders and don't want to be liberated.  These protests aren't really about coronavirus safety measures.  They are an excuse for Trump to motivate his base in strategic swing states and politically damage democrat governors.
