I found it laughable that WSC refused to address the policy issues I presented in a different thread because it was "off topic". So I present 4 of the big issues in regard to political policy below.
I vote on the issues but the issues are rarely discussed here.
1. I am not for the Green New Deal. Just because we need to install 5000 charging stations nationwide for electric cars, doesn't mean you have to start tearing down buildings and building from the ground up. AOC would do her best to get all 100T for her baby, which would be the most wasteful spending bill in the history of mankind.
Do you support the GND?
2. I am for INCREASING FUNDING for our police so that they have the money for proper training and council. The left want's to re-appropriate funding. That's a bad thing.
Do you support the reallocation of police funding?
3. You don't raise taxes coming out of a recession/pandemic.
That's economics 101.
4. Biden has already said he will form a 180 day committee to evaluate the constitutional opportunity for packing the court. The Democrats would pack the court. I could go on and on, but there are very real issues at stake. The right focuses on these issues. The left focuses on their hatred of Trump.
Do you support packing the court?
I will appeal to the mods to keep the left under control with their antics. Serious discussion only please.

Nice thread to start. But good luck with it on here.
There are many better forums online to actually discuss politics. Too much is just cheerleading and anti-Trump or anything Conservative on here.
So, it makes me think folks do not want to discuss the actual topics — or are not really knowledgeable enough about it to be capable of doing so.
I prefer to discuss topics with someone that disagrees but can at least make valid points.
At any rate.
Just to take one topic at a time. I don’t think anyone with good sense would be for court packing. You make it 11 — then when I get a chance I’ll make it 13, etc. The issue would be if you felt you would have a long term control of WH with your party — then someone may try it. But until then I cannot see it being pushed through with an evenly divided electorate.
But I could be very wrong.

This comes up from time to time. But more so when the SC leans one way or the other. Usually when it leans more conservative. For example, FDR and now.
Leftists are upset about not getting to replace Ginsburg. She even intimated she prefer a Democratic President replace her.
If that were so, why after all of her very many health issues and age — did she not step down when Obama was president so he could replace her?
One of my contentions is that the Left (especially the higher up in power and influence they are) really truly believe that an overwhelming majority of the country believes the way they do. So, I have to assume Ginsburg just assumed, like a very lot of folks, that Clinton would win — and she could be replaced by the first female President.

Might I turn this around? State the case that Trump representation of America has validation without drifting into nationalism. As an expression of conservatism.

The Green New Deal calls for tearing down all buildings and rebuilding them with regard to the environment. That sounds like an expensive and wasteful endeavor.

The charging stations nationwide are needed to get electric cars on the road. Even then, electric vehicle technology has a long way to go. I don't know too many people that are willing to wait a couple of hours or more to charge a car on a cross country trip. It's a challenge that will not be fulfilled for a decade or more....but I agree that we should move forward.
The rest of the green new deal is highly wasteful and even more so when you consider we are only ONE nation and can not do it alone. The Paris Accord was a disaster with the USA putting in more $$$$ (as usual) than all other nations. China and India cause more pollution and damage the ozone layer more than the USA. The USA always gets stuck paying the tab for the rest of the world. I applaud Trump for exiting that horrible deal for the USA.

We are the only who do pay. This might be a revelation but the last time I checked the federal reserve note is the only officially accepted form of paper currency.
The entire world utilizes this form of acceptance for every international trade commerce negotiation. The dollar will hardly become worthless over night. The structures containing hazards such as lead mold or asbestos need removal and hazmat land fill practices and the structure needs to be replaced with a more energy efficient housing unit so we can actual address as the accepted.cause of autism and development disorders.

Carson has treated audiences to long, unprompted discussions of the brain and stories about how he sometimes kept young patients in the hospital for an extra day rather than sending them home to an unhealthy environment.
He expounded again on the topic during a congressional hearing on Tuesday: “Lead poisoning for a child is devastating — not only acutely, but it has a lifelong impact,” he said. “And not only does it decrease their abilities, but it is very costly to society in terms of their potential.”

Seven senators have signed on as co-sponsors, including three Republicans — Tim Scott of South Carolina, Rob Portman of Ohio and Todd Young of Indiana. Sen. Dick Durbin, the Senate Democrats' chief vote-counter, is among his party's sponsors.
Some lawmakers say they felt let down by Carson over his response to the issue.
“I voted for him, because I knew he had an understanding because of his medical work, his neurological work, and he has been very disappointing,” Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio, the top-ranking Democrat on the committee that oversees HUD, told POLITICO. “He’s put no special effort in it that I can see. I hope I’m wrong, but I haven’t seen it."
Dr. CARSON IS AN EXPERT ON BRAIN SURGERY ON JUVENILES. He is now hud secretary and helping get the lead out of cities. And urban environments.

So here we are a full day since I posted real issues and no WSC, nor a word from any of Flubah's followers. Only Nature came in here to attempt to back his position with his beliefs. Nature....I appreciate your concern for our environment. That's a real issue.
To those mentioned above, you do score points for not coming into this thread and cluttering it up with laughing emoji's and your typical banter. I am surprised, but thankful for that.
Raiders was spot on. This site has become a joke of sorts in regard to politics. At least I tried to have a real discussion with the left.
Meanwhile, Biden continues to call a lid on reporter interviews. I can not recall, ever, a candidate for the highest office in the USA being so unavailable to reporters.

Absolutely game the last thing we need is old Joe pulling a Biden and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory . lock that old boy away until at least next Wednesday.

It astonishes me how people can ignore the issues at stake in this election. I'm not just speaking about the nitwit leftists (Nature excluded as he has expressed real concerns on the environment issue) on this site that are incapable of discussing the real issues.
In general, I am discovering that most Biden supporters have no idea what the Green New Deal is. Nor do they understand the implications of adding Supreme Court judges. Most of the people that I encounter in my daily life generally give the same answer when it comes to this election. They just hate Trump and they just can't get past it. One staunch Democrat friend of mine is in bitter disagreement with all of the Biden policies I listed at the top of this thread, but still voted for Biden because he hates Trump so much.
Thankfully, most people do understand that raising taxes in the middle of a recession is a horribly bad idea and that reallocation of police funding is not the answer in dealing with violent criminals.
Unfortunately, if Trump loses it will be because of his personality....not his policy.
In our nations great history, we have never had an election with such dramatic socialistic ramifications.

I'm on record as not being a Trump fan. But I can't support someone like Biden knowing that he can be controlled by morons the likes of Pelosi, Cortez, Omar, etc.
No, I don't support the GND. It's insane. Our country, & hopefully the rest of the world, will transition to more eco-friendly devices on its own in due time. Solar & wind are alternatives but are very expensive in the long run.
No, you can't defund the police w/o empowering citizens to police themselves.......welcome back to the wild west. A Seattle CC member is proposing NOT prosecuting misdemeanors other than DUI's (big cash cow) & domestic violence cases. Such is life in a liberal, sanctuary city.
Raise taxes right now? LOL
Packing the SC would just start a domino effect. A better idea would be term limits for senators/reps/govs. Maybe we could get some actual adults into office occasionally.

Two quick questions.
Why are you not a Trump fan now, after what he has done thus far? He is not beholden to either side as much as normal politicians are and will not be controlled by morons on either side.
Are you implying you would have supported a more uncontrollable Democratic candidate over Trump, even though your stances, at first glance, seem more aligned with Trump’s?
Just curious.

Equality, equity, justice – these ideas form the American creed. We have never lived up to it and we haven’t always gotten it right, but we’ve never stopped trying. This is especially true when it comes to our criminal justice system.
Today, too many people are incarcerated in the United States – and too many of them are black and brown. To build safe and healthy communities, we need to rethink who we’re sending to jail, how we treat those in jail, and how we help them get the health care, education, jobs, and housing they need to successfully rejoin society after they serve their time. As president, Joe Biden will strengthen America’s commitment to justice and reform our criminal justice system.
The Biden Plan for Strengthening America’s Commitment to Justice is based on several core principles:
We can and must reduce the number of people incarcerated in this country while also reducing crime. No one should be incarcerated for drug use alone. Instead, they should be diverted to drug courts and treatment. Reducing the number of incarcerated individuals will reduce federal spending on incarceration. These savings should be reinvested in the communities impacted by mass incarceration.
Our criminal justice system cannot be just unless we root out the racial, gender, and income-based disparities in the system. Black mothers and fathers should feel confident that their children are safe walking the streets of America. And, when a police officer pins on that shield and walks out the door, the officer’s family should know they’ll come home at the end of the day. Additionally, women and children are uniquely impacted by the criminal justice system, and the system needs to address their unique needs.
Our criminal justice system must be focused on redemption and rehabilitation. Making sure formerly incarcerated individuals have the opportunity to be productive members

Few topics have been more distorted by politicians and media than claims about the criminal justice system in its various forms. When the offense involves illicit drugs (use, possession, or trafficking), the distortion becomes pronounced. In large measure, a complicated set of data have been made even more difficult to grasp because of tendentious (and often false) assertions forwarded by drug legalization and criminal justice reform advocates, who seek to advance their own “reforms” by first misrepresenting the criminal justice facts.
President Obama’s remarks during a speech to the NAACP on July 14, 2015, are representative of the misinformed rhetoric: “Over the last few decades, we’ve also locked up more and more non-violent drug offenders than ever before, for longer than ever before. And that is the real reason our prison population is so high.”
These and other myths are harmful because they are now transforming into misguided policy proposals that put the public at risk. What follows are the most commonly heard myths and the facts that refute them:
Myth:America’s prisons are filled with inmates who merely used or possessed illegal drugs.
Fact: As a rule, Americans do not go to prison for first-time, simple possession offenses. Just 3.6 percent of state inmates and a mere 0.9 percent of federal inmates are in for drug possession offenses (for any drug, to include heroin, cocaine, or methamphetamine), with the vast majority of these inmates having long prior rap sheets or having plead down from more serious charges. Even accounting for these factors, there were only an estimated 75 inmates sentenced to the federal system in 2014 for marijuana possession.
