BTW..Judge Jackson has a white husband so that should make you feel better.

Judge Jackson has 8.9 years of prior judicial experience.
That’s more than four current Justices (Thomas, Roberts, Kagan, & Barrett) had "combined."
She is no token.

Biden and U.S. allies agree to release 60 million barrels of oil from their reserves as Russian invasion of Ukraine causes price spike
(CNN)
President Biden and U.S. allies have agreed to a release of 60 million barrels from their reserves, the White House and International Energy Agency announced Tuesday, as leaders seek to dampen the effect of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on gas prices at home.
Half of that total -- 30 million barrels -- will come from the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and the other half will come from allies in Europe and Asia.
The International Energy Agency announced Tuesday that member countries have agreed to the release from emergency reserves to send a "strong message to global oil markets that there will be no shortfall" as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

After whupping the twice-impeached GRIFTER, trump
• got the trump-vaccines mass produced, distributed and injected at incredible speed, saving hundreds of thousands of American lives!
• 55+ Executive orders just in his first few weeks, to help heal America and reverse harmful policies of the prior disasterous republican regime
• passing and immediately enacting the *ABSOLUTELY VITAL* American Rescue Plan, to save families, businesses, and the economy from near collapse
• restoring American respect and prominence on the world stage, nearly eviscerated by trump-regime, including the World Climate accords
• got us out of a VERY COSTLY WAR in Afghanistan, started by republicans 20 yrs ago
• passing and enacting arguably the most profound inrastructure bill in several decades: the *VITAL* American Infrastructure Plan! trump dropped the ball on that one over 4 long years.
• massive and immediate aid to tornado-victim communites in 5 states (most of them red states)
• U.S. economy grew 5.7% in 2021 under Biden, fastest full-year clip since 1984, despite ongoing pandemic exacerbated by trump
• According to the newly released Employment Cost Index (ECI) data, since December of 2020, nominal wages and salaries were up 4.5%, the fastest increase since 1983! These increases bring nominal wages and salaries to 1.2% above their pre-pandemic trend.
• confronting Putin, unlike trump who embraced him and became a Putin apologist and cheerleader; and brought scores of nations around the world to join the U.S. in opposing Putin's military aggression [trump would have done nothing]

wait what ??! actual truth ?! from scooby ???????
ok ill skeptically play along and also agree that while blatant EGO-STROKING CHEST THUMPING (like chump always did and still does ) is never appropriate , there is a subtle but important difference . it is clearly understood that at the state of the union ,not only has every single president the past 70+ years outlined his accomplishments and positive news during the year leading up but he should , so that the public does not "conveniently forget the facts " while otherwise caught up in the issues of the day . i musta watched maybe 30 state of the unions and while they all proudly listed their achievements and visions for the future , seriously , chump was the ONLY ego-stroking chest thumper
people who choose to ignore the facts ( those fubah listed above ) and adopt the what have u done for ME lately attitude , might b common , but r every bit as petty as those who whine & bitch at a QB with a solid 8-1 record who throws a picksix to lose a second game .
whomever they may b on the internet , tv , or in person , i have zero respect for such whiners

Joe needs to frame the discussion leading into the midterm elections. Do you want a democracy or not? Do we really want to ban books & make it tougher for people to vote?
Following the rules doesn't seem to work for many Americans anymore. Former students are strangled by debt & struggling to make ends meet. Governmental aid is not the answer for most. We need corporate involvement to pay BETTER than a living wage. Most of us receive dividends on our investments & many of us could afford to discontinue these funds for a period of time if we get corporation cooperation. This isn't some "pie in the sky" liberal thinking; it's an idea to help those in need. Seriously, how much money do we really need? Millionaires in here really don't have an excuse not to help others.
This is a critical SOTU & should address the cynicism the country has about our leaders & each other.

I literally agree with every word you wrote.
I wish, and I know you do, that good ideas would solve many (not all) of our problems.
But I am disheartened by two beliefs, which may actually be facts:
1/ right now, my fellow vet friend, we both know that at least 33% of the American adult public have ALREADY MADE UP THEIR MINDS about Biden's SOTU before he even utters a word - and in THEIR minds it's all negative and critical and Biden is the worse president of all time and trump was/is waaaaaaaaay better in every way.
2/ I've said this before numerous times and I'll say once again -- a split congress is the main problem to achieving anything productive (ie. one party controls the House while the other controls the Senate) And the stupid filabuster rule would still allow a minority party to have full veto power over any legislation even IF one party controls both chambers -- which is the case right now. At least if one party has both chambers it's possible to pass ONE bill per year using that budget concilliation rule - but that only applies to budget.
But what makes point #2 the clincher is the political climate we have today - automatic opposition to everything the other side proposes, even to the point of blocking it from going to the floor just for "debate"
It was NEVER - repeat **NEVER** - this polarized prior to 2017. [Gee, I wonder what happened to change it for the worse] Prior to 2017 there were many times when members from the opposing party would vote for a measure inspite of the party position. They saw their mandate was being there to GOVERN for the betterment of America. That is exceptionally rare now in all but vital issues like budget ceiling or defense funding. This polarization is not as pronounced at MOST states levels but it certainly is in many, as we have witnessed the "BIG LIE" circus the past year.

@fubah2
Not only have many already made up their minds about the SOTU but I just read some members of the GOP are boycotting the address because they won't submit to a brief Covid test. My Senator Rubio is one of them. This juvenile attempt to boycott the SOTU sends the country a terrible message that we can't act civilly for a little more than hour.
I also saw something else that blew me away about the primary in Texas. The Texas primary is underway & all 3 Rep for Governor (Abbott, West & Huffines area against the following:
Fully Weatherize Texas Power Grid & Gas Supply
Fully Fund Texas Schools & Teachers
Expand Medicaid So More Texans Have Access To Healthcare
Legalize Marijuana
Improve Voting Access To All Eligible Texans
Repeal Anti-Reproductive Restrictions On Women
If this isn't an anti citizen platform I don't know what is.

Oy!! Not only polarized like never before in our modern history but also anti-democracy.
Again I **NEVER** heard so much anti-democracy talk (and action) before 2017. It's really freakn' astounding. What happened to "freedom?" And the Texas gerrymandering to virtually eliminate two liberal seats. It might seem clever to power-hungry republicans, but it also reduces the value of a vote.

Key jobs measure says America added 475,000 positions in February, beating expectations
New York, CNN Business —
America’s companies added 475,000 jobs last month, the ADP employment report said on Wednesday.
That was nearly 90,000 more positions than economists had expected!
Meanwhile,
The surprising decline of 301,000 jobs initially reported for January, was revised to an increase of 509,000 jobs.
