History may be repeating again. In debt ceiling deal, Biden and McCarthy didn't get everything they wanted. But they can still claim victory for some concessions. A compromise is still better than the alternative of a default that sinks US economy. Hopefully, congress pass tentative deal. Of course, there would be no political drama if US simply abolish the debt ceiling as vast majority of countries have done. Warren Buffet says the debt ceiling is a stupid waste of time.
