Commerce department reveals US economy expanded last quarter at the fastest pace in 2 years. Annualized 4.9% rate for GDP from July to September.
ya, gov't overspending, consumers getting into record amounts of debts (everyones credit card balances are going up, don't lie), companies price gouging and inflating prices. But yea, the economy is growing. I don't always claim to be wealthy and expanding, but when I do, I max out my credit cards and open a new one every other week.
Biden blowing up the US debt so he can try to win another election. All at the costs of the the tax payers. It's all smoke and mirrors.
@spockgato- Third is a bot, 'they' can't think about it.

Mortgage rates close in on 8% with no relief in sight
Mortgage rates increased again last week, closing in on 8% and convincing many homebuyers to give up on the market for now.
The average 30-year mortgage rate jumped to 7.79% from 7.63% the previous week, according to Freddie Mac on Thursday. The average borrowing rate has remained above 7% for 11 straight weeks and has risen eight weeks in a row.
To mitigate the sting of higher rates, homebuyers still in the market are gravitating toward incentives from homebuilders or are taking out adjustable-rate mortgages, or ARMs. But those alternatives may be tested as rates are expected to climb higher.
"Though high mortgage rates and still-high prices weigh on home shoppers, recent new home sales data shows that buyers are finding a way to navigate the challenging environment," Hannah Jones, senior economic research analyst at Realtor.com, said. But "the milestone of 8%-plus mortgage rates, like 5% Treasury yields, emphasizes the financial headwinds facing borrowers in today’s market."
For instance, the volume of mortgage applications for a home purchase dropped 2% week over week on a seasonally adjusted basis last week, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported. The level is 22% lower than a year ago.
"Mortgage activity continued to stall, with applications dipping to the slowest weekly pace since 1995," Joel Kan, MBA's vice president, and deputy chief economist, said.
More buyers turned to ARMs, which come with a lower initial rate. The share of ARM applications hit 9.5% of all applications, the highest level since November 2022.

Everyone looking for cheap money and not trying to look ahead. Everyone's got to keep up with the Jones'.
Auto loan industry going to
then
Housing?? Unless, everyone getting into an ARM expects rates to drop and/or housing prices to increase in the near future so they can re-fi out. Banks just can not stop, can they??? When will banks start offering 1% down to buy? Got to pump those numbers to hit goals so we can push stocks up.

Hopefully, @3P_CHATGPT will show up soon with some obscure source on why this is a good thing.

I cannot see anything but a scenario that gets worse. I would be completely surprised not to see a recession by the end of Q1.
These guys do not realize how bad these policies they are using are going to affect things down the road. It is going to be harder and harder to keep a bad scenario at bay now.
I hope things can be turned around soon -- and I think it needs to be done slowly. But the folks have not gotten desperate enough to realize what is good for them and to urge the policy makers to adjust this path.

I saw this quote form an article about what a disaster this administration has been: “Obama the worst president in US history?” Biden: “Hold my ice cream”
All of that as the guy who held the office between those 2 guys is facing 91 charges, but you always fail to mention any of that part of it.

@BigGame90 And what does either of those have to do with trump facing 91 charges,or Obama,or Biden's ice cream?I can't wait to hear this one.
what does the original quote from Raiders have to do with Trump? Can't wait to hear this one. You dream about Trump nightly, huh? Always bringing Trump up when he's off topic.

Not failing to mention it. I do not think that it had anything to do with the country and the economy while he was in office.

It is called putting things in context and using things in comparison and contrast to make a point. You know like you told me in the "The border invasion" thread post #168.Can other people use that method,or it's only you who get too?

Sure. But how does that fit here? Biden is president and the economy is headed to a disaster?
How does contrasting an ex-President’s legal issues fit when comparing the housing market or interest rates or folk’s credit card debt?

I mean if you want to compare Trump and Biden on economic issues AND compare and contrast them on personal or legal issue, okay. But that is a more dynamic conversation and surely more complex than economic issues, alone.
But there are a few anti-Trump threads doing this with the legal stuff for both of these guys. I am not in on those.

Yessir. I am quite positive these are biased and poorly thought out rankings. Look over the rest of these rankings for examples. I rank Obama far lower than they do.

I hear you mister whatsittoya . You’re like a couple letters from spelling toyota there . Or “ tit “ at the end but with that one you’re just missing the “ i “
anyway , don’t get me started on all the foreign cars and boobies and what not cuz it’s a tough subject to snack on for me ….
because a girl that I used to date got T-boned by a Mitsubishi when it’s brakes failed and her American made airbags went off and popped one of her implants in the collision so it’s a sore subject for me brother . Plus her chest that was sore too I can’t forget that . Took all “ the fun “ out of those funbags .
I brought her flowers a few times thereafter but alas I just don’t think that it was meant to be . She wasn’t natural , although them suckers felt quite real , but I don’t have time for anything fake in my life ya dig ?
plus we only dated a few times , gimme a break , what am I supposed to marry the broad now because she got blindsided ?
Although it’s ironic because I don’t think she saw “ our breakup “ coming either . Her words not mine . Although it was difficult to hear clearly and exactly with what was said through all of the bandages . Ya know ?
but back to my point . Yes there is one . It’s like all of these threads in here proclaiming glory for the Democrats and Biden and how I think that they should be consolidated .
It would keep things neat and tidy in here . Like a hat rack if you will . But some people don’t see the comparison that I am trying to make when I offer that criticism .
Who was the second overall pick in the 1986 NBA draft ?
BACK PATTING and KISSING threads are like passing HAM SANDWICHES around over and over-wall

Now according to you committing crimes against this country doesn't have anything to do with the country? And now you are saying Obama was also bad for the economy. The economy was a lot worse before he took over office, remember George W completely tanking the economy, again you fail to bring that up while complaining about previous presidents.

Cause when you are complaining about previous presidents, but then skip the one who is facing 91 charges. It looks like someone is comparing ice cream to indictments.
I do dream about trump (but not nightly),I dream about the day he is convicted and the country gets to see the coward crying to the nation about how unfairly he has been treated.

I am not trying to convince you to separate the issues, I simply am asking that you focus on the economic issues and the policies in the country.
I realize that for most on the Left the personal traits of Trump matter far more than the good he did for the country and the economy. In other words, EXACTLY what crimes against the country did Trump commit IN ORDER to make the country and the economy better? Does it matter to you that Biden has personal issues AND the country AND the economy is WORSE?
So which is worse — a bad person that makes a good economy OR a bad person that makes a bad economy?
Again, I have not commented on the Trump legal issues until you insist. All I am concerned with is the economy, etc.
So — IF you CAN find a person with fantastic personal traits AND can do the things for the economy that Trump did — then run that Unicorn for office. Maybe then even some of the Left would support him.
Not concerned about discussing Bush unless you just insist to conflate as many issues as you can here.
I only used the quote because it is funny and I think Biden is very rapidly heading to being the worst President ever — in that instance the comparison was apt, because I can make a very good argument that Obama was the worst.
But if you want to compare Bush and Obama — you can do that if you like. I just do not have Bush in the running for worst President, the other two I do — mainly on the economy for Biden. That is why you can contrast him with Trump.

In this instance it is very apt to skip Trump. He is very far from being the worst. Comparing Biden to Obama is appropriate because both were horrible for the country and in the running for worst Presidents. I guess you could include Trump if you want a comparison of how to turn the economy and country to the better.

Fortunately too, is these are NOT biased rankings. Collectively the republicans in these surveys rank, utilizing a frank and honest appraisal trump near the very bottom, and for very good reasons, despite the fact their votes were cast *BEFORE* learning of all his RICO mob and FRAUD indictments!!
The other thing too is any ONE of those historians/presidential scholars knows MORE - waaaaaaaaaaay more - about all the details regarding each president that is ranked and therefore is far MORE CREDIBLE per analysis than anyone on a sports-gambling website ......let alone the consensus analysis of hundredss of such experts.

@MrWhatsItToYa
Yeah, funny, that.... Trump is in our heads every day becauseHE deliberately makes it unavoidable. The narcissistic ratbasturd insists on news coverage EVERY FREAKN DAY one way or another!
Personally my dream differs slightly from yours.....like many, many, MANYnon-MAGAs I truly hope he is on the ballot next year! Once again (like 2020) I will be throwing heavy bets against him winning as I am eyeing a new electric car plus a 4 week Euro vacation! AFTER he loses the popular vote for the 3rd consecutive time, that is when I hope the righteous convictions come in, one after another....
