That's the key, in my view. 66% of Americans, men and women, don't want Roe overturned. That should be the guiding principle by SCOTUS next month. What the large majority of the American people want.
That 66% includes a sizable portion of republicans and independents too. Unfortunately in our system it only takes just 1 or 2 in key positions who have no problem overturning the will of the people (idiots on SCOTUS) which is likely to last for at least a full generation if not longer.
Again, despite the overwhelming will of the people to the contrary.
That unrestricted power is one of our worst problems now

You fail to understand that the Supreme Court is not abolishing abortion, they are interpeting the constitution and how that pertains. Your argument that the majority want legal abortion means democracy should prevail and in each state the majority will decide. No reason to fire bomb buildings and try to kill court justices.
But hey, I know I am talking to the wall, carry on.

Some of the states that have most aggressively curbed voting rights are also those that have the most restrictive abortion laws. Basic rights are under threat not because most Americans want to restrict them but because US anachronistic political system allows for conservative minority to exert power even when they don't have majority support. Since majority of Americans support Roe versus Wade, efforts to limit abortion rights are inseparable from attacks on democracy.

Vague statements as usual.
Just what states have aggressively curbed voting rights? List them so I can show you blue states with even tougher voting laws.
The majority of Americans may want abortion legal, what percentage want unlimited rules for abortion? How many want abortion after 15 weeks????
Not what I would call a BASIC Right!
Limiting abortion rights is not eliminating abortion.

Vice News is paying women to come forward with their stories about being paid by politicians to get abortions. They’ll have to run this as a 16-episodes-series.

Supreme court judge Thomas should be impeached for his role in election related cases and his wife's involvement in insurrection. Some conservative judges should also be impeached for lying under oath. They have lost the public's trust in justice by undermining legitimacy of the supreme court.
