professional consequences for voting to impeach former
President Donald Trump for inciting the Jan. 6 attack on the
U.S. Capitol.
She was stripped of her leadership position in the GOP caucus
merely for condemning the false claim by Trump that
alleges the 2020 election was stolen.

She also is one of two Republican members of the
Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Kudos to Romney last year and the new recipients this year for their courage.

Kudos also to Caroline Kennedy for a perfect statement.

Oddly I don't see on any social network or partisan rightwing website anyone discussing Biden's extremely low unemployment numbers.  It's good news for America, so why not?!

Biden-led international sanctions are working!

President Vladimir Putin said Monday that the Russian economy is "withstanding the impact of sanctions" despite a very gloomy economic outlook for the country following the Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine. 

However, Russia's Central Bank said in late April the Russian economy is expected to shrink by 8 to 10% in 2022, noting a decline in economic activity in March after the imposition of international sanctions on Russia.

Earlier the same month, the World Bank predicted that Russian GDP would shrink by 11.2% in 2022.

Some welcome news for shoppers getting squeezed by inflation:
promotions on televisions, furniture, clothing, sporting goods and
other big-ticket purchases are ramping up.
Target (TGT), Walmart (WMT), Best Buy (BBY), Urban Outfitters (URBN)
and other top retailers have said in recent weeks that they are sitting on
too much inventory for some of their products. As a result, they plan to
mark down prices and step up sales on those items to clear the glut.

It marks a major reversal from much of 2021,
when discounts on big-ticket items were scarce for consumers.
Last year, big chains dialed back on promotions because products were in tight supply due to production bottlenecks and slowdowns at key global ports.

I hate to see the innocent citizens of Russia get hurt like that.  Many don't agree with Putin's war, yet they will be affected.

Depending on how significant this becomes, it could be very good news for many!

Although this does make sense that inventories are overstocked now in many different goods.

Elon Musk announced he will walk away from his tumultuous $44 billion offer to buy Twitter, leaving the deal on the verge of collapse. The Tesla CEO sent a letter to Twitter's board Friday saying he is terminating the acquisition.
