South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha said on Wednesday that if North Korea took concrete steps towards abandoning its weapons programmes, Washington could offer a formal end to the 1950-53 Korean War, humanitarian aid or a permanent channel for bilateral dialogue.

Stephen Biegun, Washington's special representative for North Korea, arrived in Stockholm on Saturday afternoon for four days of talks with North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui at a remote  outside Sweden's capital.

South Korea's top nuclear envoy, Lee Do-hoon, also arrived in Sweden on Friday for possible three-way negotiations with them as a potential mediator in denuclearization talks.

China, Russia, and Japan are all that are missing in this dialogue, 

that will regain the collective 6 party talks we once had in 2009.

Senior officials from North Korea and the United States have kicked off working-level talks in Sweden.
They are hoping to make progress on a second summit between their leaders,... which the White House says will take place near the end of next month.

Working-level talks between delegations of North Korea and the United States are being held in Sweden,... in an effort to prepare for a second Kim-Trump summit.
North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister  Choe Son-hui and U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun kicked off their meeting on Saturday local time,... and haven't appeared in public since.
This is their first meeting since Biegun became Washington's special representative for North Korea in August last year.
South Korea's nuclear envoy  Lee Do-hoon has also joined them for three-way talks,... which are likely to focus on setting the summit agenda.
The three officials are meeting at a highly-secured retreat located some 50 kilometers northwest of Stockholm.
This comes as Pyeongyang's top nuclear envoy  Kim Yong-chol arrived in Beijing on Sunday,... after wrapping up his three day visit to Washington.
He met with President Trump to discuss the details of a second summit,... and also hand-delivered a personal letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Last Friday,... when the North Korean official met U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo,... Pompeo said it's time for Pyeongyang's denuclearization commitments to be executed and implemented.
He revealed his remarks during an interview with Sinclair Broadcast Group,... as he described the Trump administration's efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.
Now, it's left to be seen whether the talks in Sweden can break the   current deadlock over denuclearization talks and lead to a productive second summit.

The asain pacific has been locked in a state of perpetual war, warlocked for over 100 years. 

russo japan chino russo and chino japenese as well as Korean conflict have been waged since Roosevelt mediated between Japan and Russia in  early 1900's. ww2 has left Japan and Russia with a truce but no formal peace treaty hence the northern island dispute with Japan. Korean conflict has been going on since 1950's in this latest round warlocked and North Korea was once occupied by Japan during 1900's. Hence a lot of bad blood has spilt here. 

The fact we are not in a full hot war in the pacific is credited to Trump by all sides of this dialogue. 

But it seems Trump has keyed in on the national lusts of these nations and as negotiations begin everyone seems to want something here. with the ability to achieve these desires Trump and the other heads of state engaged in meaningful dialogue can actually materialize desires of most in bringing Peace and stability to this 100 year war torn arena.

Swedish Foreign Ministry spokesman Buster Mirow Emitslof told The Associated Press that Lee Do-hoon of South Korea and Steve Biegun, U.S. special envoy for North Korea negotiations, will meet with North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, who arrived Friday in Sweden.

The talks are hosted by the Swedish government and SIPRI, or the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, an independent think-thank focused on research on conflicts, armaments and arms control.

The ministry disclosed no venue or schedule of the meeting, including whether it has officially started. Swedish news agency TT said the talks are taking place at a conference center on Lake Malaren northwest of Stockholm, lasting until Jan. 22.

Japanese news agency Kyodo said separately on Sunday that senior Japanese diplomats were to meet and discuss North Korea issues with Biegun in Sweden, citing information from the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

It gave no schedule but the meeting is presumed to take place on the sidelines of the U.S.-Koreas meeting.
