It's not GOING to pass...but I do understand all the DANGERS of this topic..especially all the idiots texting at stoplights and ones that don't go the speed limit because their minds are elsewhere

I acknowledged your points but I think this is one of those rare instances that common sense/good should precede the fear of losing individual rights.

I agree but that is not my point. Did the DUI/DWI laws stop all drunk driving? I don't think so but that doesn't mean I shouldn't support them.

Any new law could have potential abuse. I don't know it for a fact, but I assume those checkpoints are there for a reason, maybe because those are high-risk, hotspot areas?
Sure, we can all focus on the privacy/liberty loss due to the laws. I don't remember exactly the number but a lot of people died/injured in drunk driving related accidents each year with all laws intact. I can only assume the number would be much higher without them.
