Data for progress survey found most voters support Biden's budget proposals to increase taxes on stock buybacks.  Also YouGov poll found most Americans support a minimum tax on billionaires.  Budget would spend more on families such as children, healthcare insurance and paid sick leave for workers.  It would reduce federal deficit by 3 trillions over a decade by raising tax rates for the rich.   In contrast, budget experts consider republican plan to balance federal budget virtually impossible without draconian spending cuts.  In other countries, history shows increasing taxes work better than spending cuts in reducing deficits.

Logical.  And helpful to America.

But because this sensible idea is proposed by a Democrat, the republicans are automatically opposed to taxing "stock buybacks" and/or a minimum tax on the mega-wealthy BILLIONAIRES.

In their mind, if millionaires and billionaires can get away with paying less in taxes than police officers and school teachers then it's all good!
