The Biden administration is preparing a series of aggressive cyber attacks on Russia
in a major shift in tactics designed as a warning shot to rival powers. The attack,
which is expected in the next fortnight, is in retaliation for the SolarWinds hack, the
large-scale infiltration of American government agencies and corporations discovered
late last year that was traced back to the Kremlin.
It comes after Joe Biden this week engaged in a war of words with Vladimir Putin,
calling the Russian president a "killer", while the White Houses attacked China for
rights abuses in a tense opening of face-to-face talks.

Biden's decision to weigh in on the issue also exemplifies how he will try to
fulfill his promise to be a very pro-union president.
Stuart Appelbaum, president of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union,
which is conducting the union drive for Amazon workers at the Bessemer facility,
thanked Biden "for sending a clear message of support" for the workers.
     "As President Biden points out, the best way for working people to protect
       themselves and their families is by organizing into unions."

President Biden will cancel $1 billion in student debt
for defrauded borrowers

The Biden administration has reversed a controversial Trump-era policy
that will lead to the cancellation of roughly $1 billion in student debt
for borrowers who were defrauded by their colleges.

The change will deliver full loan forgiveness to 73,000 victims.

"Borrowers deserve a simplified and fair path to relief when they have been harmed
by their institution's misconduct," Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, who was
confirmed by the Senate earlier this month, said when he announced the change last week.

"A close review of these claims and the associated evidence showed these borrowers
have been harmed and we will grant them a fresh start from their debt," he added.

President Biden gives helpful extension
for those victimized by the virus enabled by trump

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden announced Tuesday that he would extend
the special enrollment period for people to purchase Affordable Care Act health plans
by three months, until Aug. 15, as part of his administration's effort
to address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

"When I ran for president, I promised I would build on the foundation of the
Affordable Care Act. Just 50 days into my administration, we have delivered
on that promise with the American Rescue Plan," Biden said Tuesday in a
speech in Columbus, Ohio. "It does that by making health care more affordable.
It means better coverage and lower premiums for millions of Americans."

The Department of Health and Human Services has estimated that President Biden's
American Rescue Plan will, on average, decrease premiums by $50 a person per month
and $85 a policy per month.
