After military review, Biden awards long overdue medals of honor to 4 Vietnam war veterans.  Birdwell, Duffy, Fujii and Kaneshiro performed beyond the call of duty.

According to ABC news, Biden is the first president to award medals of freedom after receiving one in 2017.  Highest civilian honors go to 17 individuals.  Simone Biles, Denzel Washington, Megan Rapinoe, Alan Simpson, Simone Campbell, Fred Gray, Diane Nash, Paul Yzaguirre, Wilma Vaught, Sandra Lidsay, Khizr Khan, Alexander Karlontsos, Julieta Garcia, Gabby Giffords, Richard Trumka, Steve Jobs and John McCain.

President Biden presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Khizr Khan, a man insulted by Trump following the loss of his son, Gold Star recipient U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan.

President Joe Biden:

"Today the Labor Department reported that we've added
 372,000 jobs last month, 372,000. Here's why it's important:
 Our private sector has now recovered all of the jobs lost
 during the [trump] pandemic and added jobs on top of that,"
 Biden said at a White House event.
"We have more Americans working today in the private sector
 than any day under my predecessor; more today 
than anytime in American history, today!"

"Now, look, I know times are tough. Prices are too high.
Families are facing a cost-of-living crunch, but today's
economic news confirms the fact that my economic plan
is moving this country in a better direction," he said.

Good point!  Joe Biden inherited the worse circumstances left by a prior admin (republican of course) than any President in American history!   The damage was/is especially deep and pernicious.  It's a long tough road to climb and trump's appeasement of Putin leading to the War in Europe makes it all the worse.

The Hill reveals Biden administration is investing $40 million to improve weatherization and electricity in low income communities.   Upgrades to 450,000 households could potentially save hundreds of millions of dollars per year.

A positive thing, but unfortunately it looks like a one shot deal and can't be counted on to help further.

Judge restores endangered species protections gutted under Trump regime

Endangered Species Act put in place under then-President
Donald Trump that weakened protections for animals threatened
by climate change and other dangers.

U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar, restored protections for hundreds of
species Tuesday. The Trump-era Department of the Interior’s
softening of Endangered Species Act enforcement had directed
agencies to consider economic impacts of protecting animal habitat,
removed tools for forecasting the risk that species will become
endangered or extinct in the future, and lengthened the amount of
time it takes for a species to gain protection.

Among the most controversial changes by the Trump administration
were restrictions on the ability of federal regulators to consider
climate change as a risk factor for extinction
