I’m not disputing that your constitution does indeed grant you that right

But when do the liberties you have allowed to citizens to protect you against this perceived threat expose you to a much greater one?

Even taking away deaths caused by ‘criminals’ the number of innocent deaths caused by the very method you claim is protecting you should cause you to at least question the validity of that method, rather than simply hiding behind the rhetoric of ‘freedom’ and ‘rights’

What do you mean by "criminals"? People in illegal possession of a gun? 

Take away suicides and homicides by people in illegal possession of a firearm -- what do you think that number is per year on average?

A few things here:

Whatever that number is, you obviously think it’s an acceptable price to pay for your personal right, correct?

And, the number of gun suicides and use of firearms illegally procured is CLEARLY a product of the wide availability of firearms. You cannot say the Texan incident does not count just because he shouldn’t have been allowed to get them. He got them because the checking system failed but also because there are gun shops everywhere for him and others to try their luck

Suicide rate is 12.6 per 100,000 in US and 11.9 per 100,000 in Europe. 

I don't think the suicide rate has anything to do with gun access. 

We should increase the mandatory minimums for people in illegal possession of a firearm. Restricting the rights of law abiding citizens is asinine.

Yeah it's crazy how that worked out. Almost like the two major political parties evolved or swapped stances since Republican Abraham Lincoln was President. I wonder what party Democratic Governor George Wallace would be a part of today? I'm sure all the Pro Trump Nazi's and Klan members in the south voted for Hillary though right? Or maybe Gary Johnson?

most civil wars deal with a ruling elite bracket and a thriving merchant buisness bracket. both possessing elites. case study russian civil war. a bank a principle in this case labor movement and a culture of elitists who have no way of being removed from power and underlying false sense that earth should be equal for alll. reality a ruling elitists in this case nobility was removed by another set of elitists based within philosphy and in the end the serf peasant classes were left in a much worse position of powerless to stop tyranny... owwning a firearm in russia is against the law for most private citizens... yet ppl are shot in moscow in almost a daily occurance.

we do not see that far in our adhd reationary soicity. but the end road is the president of russia can order a women to piss and she sqauts. occurding to cnn thriller trump loves a golden shower... 

realistically maine has about the highest gun per citizen actually more guns than citizens yet crime is low vs the rest of the nation...

we do not have a civil war but an election cycle.

Gripeing about what rich people get by with, funny,thats been going on a long time before any of us were born. As for Trump, he's only been in office a year and a lot of that is reversing the things obama did to the country for two terms. Trading five taliban for a want to be taliban was an all time presidential low, ashamed of him or any fool that would vote for the traitor. The media makes sheep hate Trump,also the liberal teachers we have brainwashing kids in public schools. we are lucky Bills old lady was defeated,she would be like obama and never stand up tp N. Korea or other foes. obama quote,"the sweetest sound is the muslim call to prayer", achieved his goal to divide the country.

Nearly 63 million people voted for President Trump..

The Klan claims it has “between 5,000 and 8,000 members nationwide ..there are no verifiable numbers on the Neo-Nazi membership ..so lets say it's equal to the Klan members ...although I do not think it's that many..

So,you are saying between 10,000 and 16,000 of these people,if they all voted,,, put President over the hump..in the South..

You ignored my point suggesting that a proclivity of gun shops made it far easier for guns to be acquired illegally, as likely happened in Texas, as they were clearly bought not stolen

So you CANT separate the two stats. Allowing such free access for legal use risks the same for illegal use

Why did you respond to the first point but not this one?

In Texas the gun was purchased legally. You're having a hard time grasping what happened in Texas for some reason.

That's like saying cars are readily available in the US, there are a lot of deaths related to cars... so because of this we need to make cars less available to the public.

Oh so now hyperbole is too much for you? Got it. Now you want to bring it to the literal sense. Whatever works for you Slim. I guess that works since you've never been one for consistency anyways. 

I like this numbers game though. Roughly 63 million voted for Trump, out of roughly 250 million eligible voters. Can't imagine why people aren't getting behind him. Trump only has a majority in Congress and still can't get sh!t passed. Wonder why that is? 

It's funny you used those numbers, between 10k and 16k, because that's roughly what he won a few key swing states by. Might not be so lucky in 2020 if he can't actually get anything done. Which would be quite impressive given that he has a majority in Congress. I can only imagine what might happen if he runs against someone slightly more popular than HRC, who is literally the most unpopular candidate of all time. I'd hate to see what would happen if he had to run against someone that isn't hated by most of America. Especially considering he STILL lost the popular vote. 

But yeah, Trump's doing a great job right? He might even get that tax cut passed through a Congress that he has a majority of before next year. I'm looking forward to this tax cut doing absolutely nothing for me or anyone that I associate with but doing wonders for Trump and his circle. That's great. Love me some trickle down economics!

Haven't we learned enough from drugs about mandatory minimums, and how they are a bad idea? 

Are we really going to have to hear horror stories about people serving mandatory minimum sentences because they happen to be in a house or a car where there is a fire arm?  A fire arm they might not have even been aware of but because it fits a certain criteria and definition of "possession," they now will have their lives ruined over this? 

Mandatory minimums are never a good idea imo.

I have a few clients that own pawn shops that sell guns - a lot of them. You should see the effort they put into selling a gun and the records they must keep. They can lose that license and face serious consequences if a spot reveals an improper sale. So please, your acting like gun shops just sell guns like M&Ms.

Texas wasn't the problem, it appears the U.S. military dropped the ball on this loon acquiring several guns. 

Also, can't you understand how the criminals are going to get guns even if they have to steal them.

Hey old man, I know you're memory must be shot but you've already used that passive aggressive threat before. Feel free to come up with a new one if you can even think for yourself anymore. Trump barely won a few swing states by a few percentage points against one of the most unpopular candidates of all time. I'm not even sure the GOP wants Trump to run in 2020. I'd rather see someone like Ben Shapiro run for the GOP. It would be better for America to have him than someone like Trump. But Trump is dumb and old as f#ck so I can see why you would be a fan of his.

Nevertheless, you are right about one thing Hillary Rodman Clinton was an unpopular candidate..she had the money, the media and the Clinton machine,, but she mismanaged her campaign even after cheating her way to the Democratic nomination...

Hillary was on the wrong side of everything and stood for nothing ..except her personal goal of shattering the elusive glass ceiling...

Between her and Obama the only thing they shattered was the DNC...and all the Kings horses and all the Kings men won't be able to put it back together anytime soon..

In 2020,, if President Trump want's to run again ..it will not matter if the Republican party wants him to or not...they didn't want him to run in 2016 and that did not stop him..

Cars allow the first world to function 

Guns protect us, in the minds of some, against other guns

Which brings me back to the Q which you STILL haven’t addressed asking if the thousands of gunshot deaths, caused at least in part by the wide availability of guns, Is an acceptable price to pay for your right to defend yourself against the perceived threat of your government ?
