Fake elector certifications to overturn fair elections are under investigations by attorney generals in several states.  Apparently, more evidence of attack on voting rights fundamental to democracy.  Since 2016, US has fallen from full democracy to flawed democracy according to democracy index of the Economist intelligence.  Pretending to improve elections, republican states cheat by changing voting laws to suppress voters.  Political solutions in search of a problem.

In response to the enormous public backlash at the constant covid misinformation spewed on the popular Joe Rogan Show, on Sunday, Spotify said it will NOW add a content advisory to any podcast episode about Covid-19.

The advisory will direct listeners to a Covid-19 information hub that will include links to trusted sources, the company said.

If Rogan moves forward with equal voice to both sides of contentious issues as he claims he will, I would be satisfied with that even-handed approach.  He is very popular and the public needs to hear both sides of an issue, equally.

He would also do well to only bring on guests who have not been challenged for controversial "quackery" and other misinformation contravening known facts.

Adding advisory labels don't curb misinformation according to Digital forensic research lab.  Some people are attracted to content with warnings on facebook.  Presenting more balanced views isn't a effective way to combat misinformation.  Some people rather believe lies than the truth.  Spotify is just distancing itself from responsibility to moderate content.  Part of the reason why covid infections remain so high is because of disinformation promoting fake cures and undermining confidence in masks or vaccines.

Joe Rogan issued an apology on Instagram Saturday after a compilation of the podcaster frequently using the n-word on his podcast spread widely on social media.
Rogan used the word more than 20 times in the clips from different podcast episodes, which he said were compiled over a span of 12 years.
