According to FEMA, experts say no amount of resources would have stopped Los Angeles recent wildfires.  Most fires still aren't contained despite help from multiple states, Mexico and Canada.  Los Angeles is a leader in fighting urban wildfires.  Fire agencies from the west come to Los Angeles for training.

Most people just dont understand how powerful wildfire ares.  They create their own weather systems which in turn can create lightning which can then create more fires.  They become an unstoppable force once they get rolling and the wind thats created makes its so hard to stop the fire from spreading and very fast. Having no rain and everything so dry just contributes.  As a retired firefighter am glad that i only had to deal with house and building fires(and no matter how big these fires got, chances were so slim that they could ever destroy a whole city or even just 1 neighborhood before they were put out, unlike wildfires) and some wild fires that were easily stopped. I give all my Fellow Firefighter Brother and Sisters for dealing with these types of fires, cause they arent easy and the end game most of the time doesnt end well for people and property.  That in itself puts a tremendous amount of mental stress on Firefighters due to being pissed off that they couldnt do more to stop these monsters when in reality is they are at the mercy of these beasts once they become massive and start rolling.

Musk is absolutely correct.  It is not an 'intentional' fraudulent Ponzi scheme to deceive the folks.

It is out in the open that it is a Ponzi scheme, simply by definition.

You need it to pay old folks because people have been shown to not adequately plan to get old and save for it.  Plus, Americans have shifted from an intact multi-generational family unit but are now spread out all over.

But when you have to raise the percentage you are taking in to make payouts and constantly having to make adjustments and are worried that not enough people are paying in now -- then you have the very definition of a Ponzi scheme.

2% is now 12.4%.  16 workers paying for each retired person is now just 3.  The fertility rate is at an all-time low.

When you are constantly looking at ways to make something work and adjust it because it does not do what it is supposed to do and you are worried about long term solvency -- then, of course, you have a Ponzi scheme.

It is not intentional fraud like you normally think of a Ponzi scheme and, again, it may even be necessary.  

But to not acknowledge it as a Ponzi scheme is being willfully ignorant of it.

Too many folks depend on it as their main retirement, or a large complement for it.  

So, of course, it needs to be examined.
