Harris making a few strong points in late segments. "I will not be lectured on..." = VERY STRONG COUNTER PUNCH! Pence has landed several solid jabs, yes, but Harris has also landed several and slightly more overall than Pence. Both still SUCK at debating, in my learned opinion. As a non-partisan observer (although an avowed "adolf" hater), Harris is definitely ahead on this scorecard but only slightly.
Pence chose to answer the question of his choice.
Do you think this will irk voters or is it savvy debate strategy or both?

This debate isn’t going to change any minds (as expected). Honestly, if Pence were on top of the ticket, the GOP would probably have a better shot at winning the election. Trump better hope that all the polls are wrong right now or that he’s able to make up some big ground in the next month.
slightly better chance ya ok i could see that maybe still not an actual good chance but better than now ya

In formal debates Pence would have lost HUGE points! HUGE!!
But here, where there is no panel of impartial judges with scorecards, assessing merits and comportment,
it was actually a WISE strategy by Pence -- especially given that Harris repeatedly failed with any strong counter-attack. In effect, it's almost like "well if your opponent isn't going to call you out for cheating then why not cheat and see what you can get away with?!"
I have HARRIS slightly ahead, but truly I was disappointed with her because she had such phenominal field position handed to her time after time yet failed to advance the ball.... She could have easily CRUSHED Pence....

I think she didn't want to look like the angry, nasty black woman.
However, my wife said women all across the country will love that she told Pence to basically shut up when she said "Mr. Vice President, I'm speaking."

About 6 in 10 (59%) said Harris won, while 38% said Vice President Mike Pence.
Those results roughly matched voters' expectations heading into the debate. In interviews conducted before the debate, 61% of those same voters said they expected Harris to win, 36% thought Pence would.
The CNN post-debate poll was conducted by SSRS by telephone and includes interviews with 609 registered voters who watched the October 7 vice presidential debate. ------------------------
OK. That is currently on the CNN website. This is what upsets me about *ALL* similar polls: when they choose not to point out the inequities in the public sample by party affiliation! David Chalian of CNN *did* point this out immediately when he reported the results on air, that 38% of respondents indicated they were Democrat but only 29% identified as Republican. So he noted the results were slightly skewed. BUT THE CNN WRITTEN ARTICLE DOESN'T POINT TO THIS AT ALL!!! Obviously if you have twice as many Democrats in a sample or even 10% more, it's no surprise which way the total score will lean. It's UNFAIR and IMPROPER to report skewed stats without noting it!
But I repeat, ON AIR, CNN *did* make note of it...
