I must say though,

it sure has been pleasant and peaceful on our forum the past few days.

I wonder why ...   but hope it lasts a long time...

In Time interview, Trump backtracks on election promise to lower prices.  That doesn't usually happen except in a recession.  Presidents have no or little control over prices which are determined mainly by market supply and demand.  Ditto for the fluctuating number of migrants at southern border.  But Trump exploit inflation and immigration for political gain.  He might backtrack on mass deportation too.  If his administration deport illegal immigrants at same rate as top deporter-in-chief Obama, over 33 years would be required while damaging US economy.

 It's staggering how much damage Dementia Joe's open border policy caused.

It's also staggering how his own party completely deflected and gaslit the country on the situation as well. 

It's just staggering  how much damage Trump's interference in the bipartisan border deal caused

US hasn't had an open border policy for decades.  Due to global displacement crisis, Biden has become the "returner-in-chief" because of record removal of migrants at south border.  A higher percentage of migrants removed than during Trump administration according to Pew research.

Politifact tracker reveals that Trump kept 23% of his promises as president.  32% Biden and 47% Obama.

Interesting stat.  Not included in the stats is the benefits (or lack thereof) those promises were (or would be) to majority of Americans.

For fictitious example, promising to imprison Adam Kinzinger and then doing it is of ZERO value to the majority of Americans...Yet such a stat would be counted among the 23%...

Yep!  Biggest gripe during election year was groceries inflation.

He kept telling the ignorant exactly what they hoped to hear:  he  - his policies (not a worldwide drop in correlated oil prices) - would definitely make an impact in significantly lowering prices on "everything"

And the convicted felon/rapist/charlatan also promised to bring energy prices down (gas)

That is a farce on 2 counts:

1/ No matter who is in the oval office the next 4 years those PRICES *will* come down anyway!!!

2/  The president as little to no effect on worldwide energy prices, which is what affects us here.
