I'm an independent. And I feel if we ever actually debated issues here, those who claim to be independents could actually show where they fall on said issues. We don't though. We hurl insults. I mean, what does "firing back at an affiliation" really show any way? "Lefties are this!" "Righties are that!" The sh*t is stupid. And just because I used a Slim quote doesn't mean this is directed at him. It's actually not directed at anyone in this thread but to many in the political forum in general. To those, I do call them "loonies" and "wackos". It isn't because of the side the choose but the lack of any debatable stance in their posts.

For the record, I am for strong borders. I believe in zero tolerance illegal immigration. With that said, I believe the caravan is a spook story. And exaggeration to get people fired up. "Scary beaners coming to rape and pillage." It's real 'Birth of a Nation' stuff.

I think the sending of troops is a political ploy by Trump to fire up his base heading into an election. It doesn't bother me though. It's what I would do as President. I mean, think of the audaciousness of it all. "We're coming! You better let us in." As far as i'm concerned, an invasion is and invasion. The only response should be militaristic.

So let’s say that trump is correct the caravan is filled with Drug runners and terrorists with the cover of many desperate people looking for a better chance. We have a way to insure that those who wish to actually work, and contribute to our society from those who wish to make a quick dollar and fall back to the organization of criminal activities. So is the government going to waste so many human lives the humble masses yearning to be free? . Is it possible for any sense of humanity, we literally have now thousands of Jobs in hospitality and service sectors that the need for unskilled labor is driving the caravan forward. 

Maybe evetryone who wishes to engage in this debate take a little time and read Steinbeck’s work the Grapes of Wrath. Understanding that this migration and the okies migration to California are very much similar met with similar attitudes in the citizens of California. Why ????? . Have we digressed to such a point that the dust bowl and climate change those farmers and these are trying to escape to a dream of better future driven by faintest hope of a uncertain future from a miserable present....

oh well. Trump is driving our society to polar opposite as we suffer from a labor shortage and these laborers want work.

I know of no one who is for open borders. We have a process for entry although not perfect, it works. On the same hand, those who abuse the process should be sent away. There are thousands that have abused the HB1 visa conditions but we don't enforce the laws we have in place. Homeland Security produced a report that identified over 400k who overstayed their visa expiration date. I was shocked to see that Canada led the list with almost 100k followed by Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Italy, UK, Columbia, China, India & Venezuela. The report is 3 years old .

It floors me that MS-13 has been around for years, they have been brutally violent for years, and you never heard talk of them in these conversations. I think we should build an actual wall made of actual soldiers, stacked upon each other,  since the wall that y'all been talking about is never going to get built.   Perhaps this is why we need 15,000 troops to prepare for this invasion??  

I think we need at least 5 or 6 soldiers for every one of these small-pox/leprosy carrying, strong, young, men that are preparing to storm across the border.    While we are at it, let's entice a bunch of gun-carrying militia folks from far-away remote places to help them out?  and in the mean-time they can steal stuff from the locals.   Can't you people see that this is just another scam that these trumps have been pullling since the days of Fred?     These "caravans" have been going on for years, it's always the same thing,  and come the day after mid-terms you won't hear any mention of this out of Donald again.
