Trump Tariffs

Well gee I wonder why that is, the guy is an abusive loser...a cheating, lying, abusive, degrading loser. These words are facts based on his actions. I know you prefer his party affiliation and for some odd and peculiar reason you ignore and excuse his disgusting attributes because you agree with his political positions.

I do not approach anything in this fashion nor would I support any politician who is as pathetic and just awful as Trump is. The guy is a cheating, lying, bully. 

Both of you can refute my CLAIMS...feel free to knock yourself out but it will be in vain, the guy has these problems right out in the open so no reason to try and act otherwise.

Trump is the same as Les Mis lead character? I know the play/movie quite well and you are stretching as far with that as about anything with regard to Trump changing and being something different. I dont remember which of you wackos said Trump is turning to Jesus now after his wild past...oh that was one of the best jokes I've ever heard.

Trump hasnt and wont change, he is a bully pig every single day, he wont ever be anything more than what he is. The guy did not give up anything, his businesses are intact and Little Trump is doing the legwork but there is no change at all.

Millions voted for him because they party vote and they actually believed his lies...he lied and will continue to lie, he lied as a businessman and he cheats in his personal and business life.

Ive said this before, I'd rather that you come out and just say you voted for him because he is a Republican vs actually trying to humanize him and imply that he is something that he for sure is not.

Anyone that would claim Trump is going to turn to Jesus is a wacko right or left or neutral...but nice job turning even this opp into a left vs right remark.

You keep saying silly things for attention so feel free to E-L-A-B-O-R-A-T-E about all these one liners you keep popping off.

And if you can identify what is great about him in detail and not just say that you like his political agenda that might be interesting.

You can probably tell that my definition of great and yours are miles apart.

The following are 3 things I learned on the liberally biased Sunday morning shows.

 1. Elections have consequences.

2. The tariff on aluminum will increase a 6 pack of beer 1.5 cents.

3. The tax on a new car will be on average $175.

So. Basically a monthly increase of $3 a month on a 5 year note. Working Americans can easily afford the increases on the 2 examples. This will not prevent anybody from having a weekly meal at Flemings.

I agree Stu. Only bottles or trappers for me. Aluminum  is no good for the body.

Arent you the guy who was so happy because these debt based "crumbs" are reason enough to put up with the abusive bully-in-chief and yet you have no problem with an increase in prices (and a decrease in take home pay implicitly) with another decision he made? (and let me know when Trump finds Jesus, I would like to see that).

You are coming off as partisan and blinded when you contradict yourself like this.

I don't worry about 1.5 cents on a 6 pack of canned beer or $3 a month on a car note. Let's see what happens before we have another possible Armageddon. Let the 'crumbs' fall where they may!

I will play along, but you also have to answer questions with more than other questions or some youtube link or a one liner that does nothing.

If you have followed this forum long enough then you know my position on this subject. Corps like Honda and Nissan and others have found ways around any tariff through having manuf plants here and if the rate got too high I imagine the same would happen for those makers and after the state freebies given to open a plant I imagine it might be a net positive vs a high import rate.

I dont mind import tariffs especially if we were to do as many EU countries WITH those tariffs meaning provide less costly or free healthcare and social benefits for the lower income as they do....so lets play FAIR in more ways than tariffs. Raise the import tariffs, no qualm from me but put ANY extra import tax into the health and social system because in full reality ANY increase is passed on through higher MSRP to the consumer...so if the US consumer is paying more because of an increased tariff then those funds need to go to the correct programs.

wallstreetcappers: We agree on a lot but this time I must disagree with you. Targeted taxes that have no relationship to the intended beneficiary are inherently unfair and seldom serve the intended purpose. “Sin taxes” like alcohol and tobacco are prime examples. When it comes to appropriating the funds from a specific tax many games are played to make the funds wind up where the government needs or wants it, instead of the intended target beneficiary.   

Disclaimer: I am an independent that voted for Trump. Do not badger me with Democrat, liberal, Barack and Hillary fan, or any other label of your choice. Having voted, my mind has returned to independent and I now judge actions and results. There is no “my guy won/lost” or lifelong one-party partisan affiliation involved in any of it. If your mind is sold on one person or one party, let me be.    

My problem with Trump is he doesn't seem to be very strategic.  I wonder how long he's studied tariffs and their effects ... pros and cons.  He shoots from the hip too often without consideration of aim.  I'm at the point where I'm willing to ignore all the personal flaws like him banging pornstars and him running his trap on twitter about meaningless issues.  However I'm finding it hard to believe that this tariff on steel and aluminum was well planned and strategically calculated in terms of net economic benefit to the U.S.  Kinda feel like he's pulling a "f*ck it ... I'm going with my gut feeling and damn what the consequences are".  That's not how I want this country governed and/or managed.  There's a real chance this turns into a full blown trade war amongst our adversaries and allies ... our neighbors and friends ...  and then when have a situation that can't be fixed with a another idiotic tweet.
