A Florida man faces a hate crime charge after police say he ripped off a US postal worker’s hijab and punched her in the face.
Fort Lauderdale police arrested Kenneth Jerome Pinkney, 47, on Oct. 24 after he allegedly attacked a U.S. Postal Service worker. In an arrest report Pinkney rode his bicycle past her and “made a shooting gesture.”
Pinkney allegedly called the worker derogatory names and told her to go back to her country.
[and where have we heard THAT before?!]
He then walked up to the woman, ripped off her hjibab, and started to slap and punch her in the face, police said.
The woman sustained injuries to her face

There has been a disturbing rash of Islamophobic and antisemitic violence in the U.S. since the Israel-Hamas war began October 7.

On Oct. 13, a Chicago landlord allegedly stabbed a 6-year-old Palestinian American boy to death. The suspect allegedly shouted “You Muslims must die!” just before the attack. The Justice Department has opened a hate crime investigation into that murder.

@fubah2 It will be the first one.. Do you really think people will make the mistake again by voting for Joe ?? C'mon, now. No amount of ballot stuffing, harvesting will overcome the disparity for votes for Trump. And don't discount the RFK Jr. affect. He is gonna steal millions of DEM votes from Joe. But the real question we should be asking ourselves is what comes next when Trump has been elected "by the people," yet in jail ?
Raiders, I think Fubar was just trying to change the subject... DEMs always change the subject when they're losing an argument.
But back to the title of the thread... I think Trump's legacy has yet to be fully played out. Like I said, the part in bold would be an interesting predicament that may get the Supreme Court involved. I think a majority decision would realize that our 'weaponized ' federal government overstepped their boundaries, acting without precedent in an election interference campaign to prevent Trump from becoming president, again.
I have confidence in how this will play out..

In an interview with Salon's Chauncey DeVega, Dr. Lance Dodes, former clinical professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, suggested the pressures of Donald Trump's multitude of legal woes, combined with the possibility his financial fortune could be wiped out, are aggravating his existing mental problems which could lead him to incite a new wave of violence that the country witnessed on Jan. 6.

Asked by DeVega about Trump's "state of mind and resulting behavior these last few weeks," Dodes began by observing, "Donald Trump’s severe narcissistic, antisocial (sociopathic) character disorder means he cannot tolerate or even acknowledge losses or defeats."

Billionaire Trump Donor says he made a big mistake
HUFFPOST -
Tech investor Peter Thiel, who was a major donor to Trump in 2016 said he’s not giving money to the disgraced former president this time around.
Thiel, who co-founded PayPal and Palantir, donated $1.25 million to Trump and Trump-affiliated super PACs in 2016 and spoke on Trump’s behalf at the Republican National Convention that year.
But he said things didn’t turn out the way he’d hoped.
“There are a lot of things I got wrong,” he acknowledged. “It was crazier than I thought. It was more dangerous than I thought! They couldn’t get the most basic pieces of the government to work. So that was maybe worse than even my low expectations.”

He's even threatening to go full nazi fascist if elected next year and use federal authorities to chase down anyone who ever told the truth about him and weaponize the DOJ to have all of them suffer. Might even have them banished to the concentration camps he says he will have erected for all migrant workers

A leader is only as competent as the team behind him. Siena college survey of 141 historians rank Trump last in executive appointments among 45 presidents. If re-elected, MSNBC speculates on possible recruits based on Trump rhetoric. Vice president Tucker Carlson. Attorney general M. Davis. National security advisor Michael Flynn. CIA Director K. Patel. Press secretary Laura Loone. In book "tired of winning," Jon Karl warns that Trump would recruit loyalists instead of the most qualified to run government. In a corrupt organization, loyalty is more important than competence. Unlike first term, there would be no adults in the room to constraint Trump extreme agenda. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

According to Yahoo News, fascism expert Jason Stanley compares Trump's vow to purge political enemies to Hitler's propaganda during Nazi Germany.
Not too surprising though. He's already stated he wants to see the Constitution torn up, decided he will erect high security concentration camps for migrants, and probably others for political and media adversaries, revamp the FBI and Justice department into one new police force loyal to the president that he will call the "Brown shirts" and some say he's musing about re-education camps for children called the "MAGA Youth"
