Actually you only proved what I stated and what I have stated like twenty times. Keystone delivers Alberta and Canadian sour to the gulf for refining, that is the Valero comment I made, Ive also said numerous times that Canada has forward agreements with China, that refined crude product basket does not return to the US it does not go to Canada it is shipped from the gulf to China. China is in the Brent neighborhood, the pricing is based on geography, so we price off Texas Crude futures while Europe and Asia prices off Brent. So since all of the production is already sold via forwards then there is ZERO benefit to the US consumer, the only benefit is to the refiners and that is not the only product they refine so I am not interested in the jobs created at the Valero refinery, that would exist with or without Canada garbage sour being piped through our land so China can get product.
Fantastic !! No politics, no azz kissing, STRAIGHT TO THE POINT.

It’s ok to call Judge Kavanaugh a rapist It’s ok to call Judge Thomas a rapist It’s ok to call Trump a rapist that was urinated on by Russian prostitutes But if you say Democrats are to blame for Americas low oil production, high oil prices, and relying on Russian oil (maybe Iranian, Venezuelan) — an obvious fact due to their alliances with environmental groups — then you’ll get called out by the moderator. I’ll put together an argument tomorrow showing why Democrat politicians over the last 20 years put us in this position.
I'll look for it in the penalty box.

I worked for elected Democrats most of my career, some very good, some in the middle, some dumber than shit. Same said with Republicans.
Manchin a very good Dem, IMO. I thanked God Romney didn't get elected. Sorry to say IMO Biden just like Romney, lifelong career politician who never showed an ounce of leadership.
Funny the Prime Minister of Alberta hasn't been corrected for saying Alberta Oil will help the US and that the oil is already spoken for as Wallstreet claims.

Joe Biden is not to blame for high oil prices, although I understand why certain people wish to advance that false narrative.
American Oil producers produced near record levels of oil domestically in 2021, despite sitting on their collective hands with over 7,000 government approved permits to drill and produce even more. They choose not to. If they did, supply would increase and prices would come way down. Oil prices are market driven. American oil companies are all PRIVATE and free to produce or not as they please, as well as sell their end products to whomever they choose. The highest bidder typically these days are the Chinese, not America. So if supply is low here, which is driving up fuel prices, who is causing the weakened supply and making record-breaking profits off the high oil prices?
It would be different if all American oil compnaies were a federal public utility. Then Biden would be in control, and be held responsible. But they are private. And they have their rights to keep production low and reap the profits as they wish.

@wallstreetcappers Then why is The Prime Minister of Alberta saying; Kenney added that had Biden not shut down plans for the pipeline, the "democratic energy" it provided could have, by the end of the year, been displacing the "Russian conflict oil that's filled with the blood of Ukrainians."
Garbage...of course Canada would love to blame Biden for not allowing them to abuse our land so China can get their crude products, of course they are unhappy with the inability to use someone elses land for their sole benefit. If Canada wants to refine that toxic awful sour crude then build refineries in that country.
What a joke..

The argument about “unused” leases is a red herring, a smokescreen for energy policies that have had a hamstringing effect on the world’s leading producer of natural gas and oil. It suggests American producers have been motivated by a desire to manipulate the market during the current crisis in Europe. This is false. American oil and gas producers are able and willing to do their part to support American energy leadership, including providing energy that can help allies abroad
Ultimately, energy policies affect the energy investment climate. Specifically, they impact the ability of producers – typically accountable to shareholders – to take the risks involved in spending billions of dollars to find and develop oil and gas. Mischaracterizing the way federal leases work does not help foster new investment and risk-taking.
Now, for the second claim, about the usefulness of American energy to Ukraine. Technically, there’s some truth there because, indeed, increasing American oil and gas production will not help Ukraine today. The time for helping Ukraine with American energy was months ago. Then, Biden administration support for robust U.S. production might have helped deter Moscow from thinking that European nations dependent on Russian energy might do less to oppose Russia the aggressor.
Instead, the administration discouraged American energy. For more than a year it has halted new federal leasing – key to future energy investment and production. It canceled energy infrastructure, blocked development in parts of Alaska, entertained new taxes to punish the U.S. energy industry and chilled future investment by signaling that oil and gas wouldn’t be part of America’s future energy mix. All last summer, the administration called on OPEC+, the oil cartel, to increase its production more rapidly in the face of rising energy costs, bypassing American producers.
Now is the time for the administration to fully get behind American oil and natural gas

Agree.
We left the 20 th century behind over 21 years ago and should be moving toward the future of reduced dependency on a product that is causing climate change, let alone inflation and political divides. If we reduce our oil dependency that in turn reduces demand and lowers prices at the pump and prices for those entities that will still need oil and refined products for the forseeable future.
The key is to reduce oil dependency, not to increase production and increase our dependency. We are witnessing today what happens as long as we remain dependent on oil for far too many things that are unnecessary.

Excellent points.
Most of the Canadian blame is coming from Alberta's conservative leader, Kinny. He is like their version of Governor Abbott, and confirmed anti-liberal everything. Their economy is largely based on their very expensive dirty oil and it takes a huge hit whenever the Saudis or US increases production.

In 2019, for the first time in nearly 70 years, the United States became a net total energy exporter and the largest producer of oil and natural gas in the world.
When Biden took office, the average cost for a gallon of gasoline was $2.46
Biden’s first actions as president in January 2021 included halting oil and gas activity in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and killing the Keystone XL pipeline.
According to the Energy Information Administration, refinery utilization in the US is still well below the 2015-2019 average.
Where would gas prices be if Biden hadn’t shut down ANWR and Keystone XL to appease far-left environmentalists in early 2021? Would refinery utilization be higher? Please answer this question.

What we are witnessing today is the world is much bigger and dangerous than you think. Shutting down nuclear power plants, stopping domestic energy production and then depending on adversaries for that same energy from which we have not yet technologically overcome.............LOOKING PRETTY DUMB.

Har har...I think you glaze over truth that does not fit your narrative and jump right to the political whining.
Gas prices were low because oil got crushed from oversupply, from excess credit and speculation. Then what happened? Shale/frackers went under, big OG cut R&D and slashed fringe production, THEN what happened...
Oh my word this is so silly...

Since it seems like you're the expert on crude oil here, can you explain the 20-25% jump in gas over this past weekend? Guessing there will be another 10-15% bump going into this weekend after MSM is starting to pump more stories about the US not accepting the ~3% of Russian imported oil.

The leaders of both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates declined overtures from the White House to set up a call with President Biden, according to reporting from the Wall Street Journal.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the U.A.E.’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan have declined to speak with Biden in recent weeks, a U.S. official told WSJ, but both leaders did field calls from Russian President Vladimir Putin last week.

The Pentagon dismissed Poland's plan to provide MiG-29 fighter jets to US at Ramstein Air Base in Germany to deliver to Ukraine, w/@PentagonPresSec saying, "We do not believe Poland's proposal is a tenable one."
Tenable, huh?
Do you mean we can't defend the decision to come to the aid of an ally that has been invaded? NATO is concerned about an escalation? Logistical issues sounds more like testicular issues.
Seriously, what's the issue with all the armaments we have already given Ukraine? How are these jets any different? They kill people just the same, only quicker.
Let's get creative here for fucks sake!
