European leaders downplay Putin threats to attack NATO. He has made many threats but never followed through on them. NATO has been operating with much restraint by gradually increasing military capability of Ukraine over time.
Foolish for Russia to engage strong NATO when fighting Ukraine is already a hard struggle. Russia started this war by illegally invading Ukraine which has the right of self defense. Only Russia can end this war.

So then you are suggesting that NATO take out Zalensky? It depends on which side you agree with to who started this mess. I think the perspective has to do with which group you side with. Ukraine has been at odds with Russia since they were granted republic status 30 years ago and both sides feel valid in their position. I am not sure what Ukraine thinks the reaction Russia has and will have with their consideration of being involved with NATO.

Obviously, Sweden and Finland don't believe it! Both countries, which were neutral for decades, applied for the NATO membership shortly after the Russia invasion of Ukraine in Feb. of 2022. With both Finland and Sweden accessions, NATO now is getting stronger than ever.
