Cuts would increase hardship and misery for struggling families. Cuts will lead to higher medical debt , lower earnings from future workers who will suffer from poor health and put pressure on government deficits. US economy may be more vulnerable to recession. Cuts might cost government more in the long term.

Its way too late for companies to shut down all their factories around the world and move them back here. Where are they gonna find workers that will work for very low wages like they have in other countries? Is trump gonna order people here to work for all these companies very very low wages and no benefits? Thats what a dictator can do. Also the amount of years this would take is way to high and people would be crushed waiting for this to happen. People have become to used to cheap products and arent gonna wanna change that.
Just the price of trumps tariffs on say cars, is gonna cost more for a car then anything biden hurt us with when he was in office. Just figure out what a 25-50 percent tariff will cost you on your next car.

Like we say, if 2 economists are asked the same question you will likely get 3 or 4 different answers.
Meteorologists and economists are the only two professions where they can be wrong 50% of the time and still keep their jobs.
They can be wrong every day and people still earnestly listen to what they have to say the next day.

Trump tariffs should ultimately fail because they are based on politics to appeal to his base. Economists generally consider tariffs self defeating and an inefficient way for government to raise revenue. History shows trade wars increase unemployment or inflation and decrease economic growth. For example, bailout of farmers in previous Trump term.
