Big Three automakers stocks fell in after-hours trading after Trump’s announcement. Shares in General Motors (GM) plunged more than 7% after-hours, while Ford (F) and Stellantis (STLA), which produces Jeep, Ram, Chrysler and Dodge cars, both fell by more than 4%.

Risky for Trump to impose tariffs to force firms to relocate to the US.  He thinks tariffs could raise so much revenue to pay for tax cuts. However most economists see tariffs as an inefficient way to raise revenue.  Instead downsides include higher costs, unemployment and no guarantee firms would bring production back. His trade war has already wiped trillions of dollars in stock markets.

If Canada and Europe turn their backs to you guys - US will never recover from this economically situation - like litterally never 

And this is only the beginning of the path Trump has chosen - there is a long way to go

His alleged plan is apparently to tank the market and the dollar so we Europeans “have” to buy your foreign debt - because we “need” you guys - well news flash if you use every waking second belittling us and threat us - we might not be that keen to help you out in the other end - and the couple of years thing - let’s get real that is just his out of jail card - cause he can then just say until his death that good times are just around the corner 

Politico reports that democrats are suing Trump administration over his order to change election rules.  Millions of eligible voters could be disenfranchised because of Trump's proof of citizenship. voting deadlines and no mail voting.  No president has authority to change how elections are administration.  Instead constitution gives states that authority.

The wrong direction

Financial analyst Jim Cramer recently noted that Trump inherited declining inflation from Biden, yet decided to implement inflationary tariffs.

Trump also inherited a strong job market from Biden, yet has gone about undoing that as well.

The markets in general “was doing extremely well last year,” said Cramer, until Trump showed up and sowed tremendous uncertainty.

Monday he called out Trump for recreating the “stagflation” of the early 1980s.
