Worst National Emergency in the History of America

I normally don't start topics but if nobody is going to start one, it obviously has to be done.  I woke up feeling uncertain today.  I heard the crisis is growing.  Time is urgent.  We must act immediately and construct some permanent wall in order to prevent this crisis from getting out of hand.  Although, it has been said that it's not really an emergency, which I believe is an admission that it's only being done as a means of fulfilling a campaign promise. 


So aren't people going to insert their opinions about the validity of this emergency and if it's a wise move for Trump?  If people are sitting on the fence, at least give updates for the emergency and tell me if it's safe to leave my door unlocked at night.  I'm scared and don't know if society is going to collapse.  Please tell me if I'm going to be okay.  I know it's not political, but I thought The Last of Us was a great game because it illustrated how humans typically do the wrong thing and choose to be selfish over an altruistic approach.

I'm not going to tell you that you are going to be ok. 

The border security wall, will have gaps, sanctuary states will not allow the security measure anyways. Might be time for red states to consider putting walls on their border. Just a thought.

It is entirely political, the Democrats will not give Trump a victory on any level, let alone his signature promise. They are banking on the hope Trumps base will abondon him over this issue. 2020 will be interesting the Democrats will be portayed as lax on security. They can't deny that fact, anti border wall, abolish ICE movement. 

The emergency declaration will be supported or vilified along partisan lines.

There's at least 11M people here illegally. 30% of all Federal inmates are illegals. Illegals take jobs from Americans and allow US companies to pay lower wages, pay cash when possible to avoid matching SS & Medicare taxes, benefits etc...  The majority of illegal drugs comes from south of the border. This is a crisis that's been going on for decades. Finally someone not owned by the left (future voters) or right (low paid employees) wishes to do something about it and is fought tooth and nail at every turn, actually by both sides... Good for Trump, building the fkn wall already, it works in Israel and nearly every nice home in the country has some type of "barrier" around it to protect the occupants. The establishment has had decades to solve this problem and the facts above prove it hasn't been solved.

It's been an emergency for decades and no one has come up with a solution because the establishment doesn't look at is as a problem, just ask them.

Most americans disagree with Trump's wall and declaring of national emergency according to polls.  Trump has failed to present a convincing case of a crisis. Illegal border crossings are at historic lows according to homeland security department. 

Afterall, Bush and Obama administration already build the wall.  South border is among the most secure in the world with extensive barriers and thousands of patrol officers.  Now there are multiple lawsuits against Trump's illegal emergency order which violates constitution and harms border communities.

  Even though the government had previously informed the landowners that if the funds became available, they'd begin construction of the wall on their properties.

Three Texas landowners and the Frontera Audubon Society in Texas, an environmental group, became the first folks to file a lawsuit against POTUS's emergency plans for the border.....

By the way...The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals last week sided with President Trump and ruled in favor of the Trump administration and against several environmental groups, deciding that the DHS had the authority to waive environmental laws to speed their wall prototype construction...

Seriously? The tax withholdings were reduced (I'm an employer) with the new tax plan. I'm sure you already know that, you just want to make whatever Trump does a negative... If the employer takes less out, your going to get less back.

Past presidents declare real emergencies such as 9/11 or hurricane diasters.  However Trump abuses emergency powers.  No real emergency at south border.  Whereas real crisis such as gun violence or climate change is ignored.  Instead he manufactures a crisis to fulfill an xenophobic campaign promise.  Families seeking legal asylum are denied basic health and human rights.

Pentagon officials complain deployment of military is a waste of time and money.  Troops are bored supporting border patrol while waiting for migrant caravan that never arrives.

Trump make claims unsupported by facts or reality.  Most drugs enter through official ports of entry according to Drugs enforcement administration.  A wall won't stop drugs hidden in cars.  Not human trafficking either.  Most victims enter US legally but are exploited by employers.  94% of human trafficking involves US citizens according to Bureau of justice statistics.

The public is still grumbling about tax returns.  I've seen the general commentary.  It's only because many people take their returns and put them towards a larger purchase.  It may not be practical or wise but that's what happens.  They don't feel the slight increase in their paychecks is enough to warrant the change in their returns.   It may affect consumer spending, too.  You don't have to convince me.  You have to convince the average person that the tax plan really benefited them.

Probably wall won't be build until after 2020 election. But no guarantee of Trump remaining as president.   Months of delay expected from lengthy court proceedings due to 8 or more lawsuits.  Also delays from environmental study, design stage, acquiring land, bid process, road construction and utility coordination.

The Democratic plan is to have us riding trains and taking 50-70% in taxes, eliminating the fossil fuel industry and airlines. Airports are big and usually in valuable areas, instead of those evil jets, we could have public housing units, and after eliminating the personal health insurance industry they'll give us a Healthcare system that will rival going to the DMV... AOC had to be educated when she wanted the $3B in tax incentives that were going to Amazon to be used for teachers, subway, etc. The state of NY was going to earn $27B for those $3B in incentives. The money wasn't in a desk drawer dimwit...

Over the last decade congress has spent 7 billion for walls.along our high ways to stop noise pollutiin. But some how can not spend 5.8 billion to secure America from human traffickers.  The Big protest from the left is this was a campaign promise if kept sites up Trump support. When Obama wanted the barrier the republicans didn't.  

Congress and politicians manage to stay relevant by doing nothing......

Please come to the country through the front door like most civilized law abiding people would do and I'll welcome you, otherwise your a criminal that should be apprehended and deported. We are a country of laws. Don't like the law, then change it.
