Zimmerman is auctioning the gun used to kill Saint Trayvon artin

George Zimmerman has decided to sell the gun a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm,he says he used to kill Trayvon Martin.

The firearm is fully functional....the pistol currently has the case number written on it in silver permanent marker..

Zimmerman said some of the proceeds would be used to fight Black Lives Matter violence against police...

UnitedGunGroup has accepted to list the controversial gun auction at a starting price of $5,000....after Gunbroker took it down after the traffic the publicity it was receiving..

I way, I see it is since a jury acquitted him of second-degree and the gun has been recently returned to him by the U.S. Department of Justice ..it's his property to sell ....what say you ?

morally speaking...disgraceful.....

I can think of dozens of non-profits( ie Black Lives Movement) who need, literally, a centerpiece for their cause..

He has right to legally sell his property. The gun broker site has a right to not proceed with the auction. He has the right to donate the money to which ever cause he wants. People have the right to think he is a giant behind hole for advertising this weapon as the one that took a life. 

I would think he wouldn't want anymore attention from this incident though. Seems to have made a huge, negative impact already. Seems like he is just constantly asking for trouble by putting his name out there. 

I would find the ultimate form of karma to be that whoever buys the weapon to follow him around with it until Zimmerman confronts that person, then that person shoots Zimmerman with the weapon.

If I remember correctly you were a huge Zimmerman supporter when this all went down. Am I correct?

I say there is a HUGE difference between a legal right and the right thing to do.  I heard him say in some interview this is the last act to "put this ordeal behind him".  What nonsense.  It was behind him until he decided to enter back into the news cycle by profiting from the infamous gun.

I use the term gun loosely... it is a Kel Tec... the lowest of low end pistols a few dollars can buy.

I defended Zimmerman in the trial before, and I did a masterful job in doing so.

I would like to see him go to the far reaches of Patagonia for the rest of his life. He was very lucky that the jury saw the case correctly, as I did. There were far too many idiots that saw the case from the other side that clearly let their emotional side of the brain. He could have gotten a jury that couldn't think for themselves like OJ did at first. Lucky indeed.

That's right Ktrain ,,although I wasn't a fan of George Zimmerman per se  ( he was a liberal Democrat ) I did defend his actions in this situation..and although selling the gun may seem insensitive..

Zimmerman's life was ruined by the MSM and racial demagogues  (Rev AL etc,,)...he can't be seen in public..he probably has to make money however he can...

Look at it this way Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the Martin family, et al. all tried to make money from Saint Trayvon’s death,so why shouldn't George Zimmerman ?

Of all people Cashin,,I would think that you would support the American judicial system and respect the fact that he was acquitted by a jury of his peers...

Jurors that had all the evidence... had the option of convicting Zimmerman of manslaughter with a firearm,but found there wasn't  proof beyond a reasonable doubt for manslaughter..

So ,,he should have the right to sell his own property,, that he used in self-defense against Saint Trayvon's brutal attack ...

I think the whole story is tragic. Neither one deserved the outcome they were given. 

As slim pointed out he doesn't have many viable options to make money that are available to him. 

If Trayvon hadn't tried to split his head open on the sidewalk then maybe we wouldn't be having this discussion at all. It's mostly Trayvon’s fault that he has moved on to the next life.

The strongest statement you made in your post was that it's insensitive of him. And now you're actually creating reasons and justifying him profiting of the death of someone. The Nazis could have used a guy like you Slim.

Zimmerman did this to himself. He puts himself in bad situations over and over again. And this is yet another one.

The weapon, by accounts of other posters, of a piece of crap and not worth much by itself. However Zimmerman markets it as a piece of American history because it took a life and you're ok with him making more money off of that.
