Seattle isn't exactly a high-scoring offensive juggernaut, Carolina's D is pretty good and the 12th man has no impact on a visiting defence. While I don't expect Cam and friends to do much on offence, the Panthers probably only need 10 points to cover.

the panthers have 7 wins for a reason. this week the seahawks will show you why this panther team is a bad team. the panthers shouldnt even board the flight to go to seattle. they have NO SHOT. bet the farm on the seahawks. 31-12

2 very solid defenses face-off here. Giving 10.5 - 11 points is insane. Take the points and the UNDER in this one. All you have to do in the playoffs is win and move on, this game will be played close to the vest by both teams, trust me, I've been at this game along time. - GL to all - THE Myth

Be careful betting SEA. I have followed SEA all season and noticed the last several wks that they are trying to save Lynch. They are trying to limit Lynch's carries and save him. Last season they sandbagged the public by just winning but not covering thru out the playoff until the SB. In the SB they did not hold back and you know what happened. SEA will not try to cover 11 as long as they get the W. The best bet is the UNDER.

took the Panthers +11 before hearing the news of Star Lotelelei being out for the playoffs.. that is bad news for Carolina.... their run defense has been stellar lately because of his play and without him I just see Lynch having more success pounding the ball.
I had Seattle projected to win this game by 10 points, but I see this being a 17+ point game now. Also the fact that it's Cam Newton's first ever trip to the 12th man...might be a disaster waiting to happen... but still I like to root for the underdog
I can see two scenarios happening that could work in the Panthers favor.. despite Seattle getting healthier and peeking at the right time for the playoffs there's a sliver of a chance the Super Bowl hangover still might creep up on them and the Seahawks underestimating their opponent. Look at previous defending Super Bowl champs playing in Divisional Playoffs with 1st round bye..
Green Bay Packers lost to NY Giants
New Orlean Saints lost to Seahawks*wildcard round*
NY Giants lost to Eagles
Indianapolis Colts lost to Chargers
the other angle which has already been run to the ground by the media is the lower seed team getting hot at the right time at the end of the regular season and carrying that momentum into the playoffs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and Green Bay Packers all did it with a strong running game and physical opportunistic defense.
not saying Carolina will win this game outright. its not easy to repeat the next year...anything can happen in a playoff game and I don't mind risking a small amount on the +475 ML and putting some down on Seattle -11 to hedge out.
Sip on that plus money honey!

This game going High if you get it at 39.5, Seattle starting DT is out and Carolina running the ball well as of late ,this should help the over and they have a good punter that always seems to drop the ball inside the 5 yard line which will help field position and possibly a safety. I see a lot of field goals and turnovers in this game a ugly score, probably see 1 touchdown scored... I see Seattle winning 25-15 lol

I have a wierd feeling that the Carolina Panthers win this game S/U. Defense travels and Cam will run the option at Seattle and score just enough to win something like15-14, 13-10 Panthers.
I know Cam is not a great passing QB even though he has a cannon for an arm (he isn't very accurate). I know panthers had a losing record and those type of teams lose in the 2nd round (small sample size), I know panther offense isn't great. I know they are traveling across the country. i know they are playing in Seattle at night. I know Seattle doesn't lose at home...i know 80+ % of people are picking Seattle for Superbowl. i know the Seatle defense is great, I know Russel Wilson is great, Lynch is great and the 12th man situation.
However, I think a great defense like the panthers is the one thing that can bring the most problems for Seattle. I think it's gonna be a close one and low scoring with just enough possibility for an upset...Seattle isn't a high powered offense that usually runs away from teams anyway ........ so you're saying there's a chance..... Don't be too shocked come Saturday night, that's all I am saying, When everyone says no way in hell, sometimes hell freezes over......

O.K. did anyone here watch the Panthers / Cardinals game. If you did then you know as the game wore on that 1. the panthers were going to win 2. Cam Newton is playing hurt . very hurt 3. Carolina is going to be Seattle's tackling dummy this weekend 4. why the hell is the NFL hung up on divisions O.K. now the Seahawks don't score a lot of points but they win ____ common sense analysis --- Seattle and the under ------ and the fires of hell burn hotter

First of all, Seattle isn't down their starting DT. Jordan Hill is a rotational nickle pass rusher. Their starting DL is Michael Bennett, Tony Mcdaniel, Kevin Williams and Cliff Avril. Depending on what you got the line vs. the Saints last year in the playoffs Seattle covered all 3 games in the playoffs last year. NO-7.5 won by 8, SF-3.5 won by 6 and they covered 4tds and 2fgs in the SB. This is a primetime home game in the playoffs for Seattle, they got exactly one of those this year, vs. GB and they smoked them. It's a team full of 25 year old dudes that love to strut their stuff. They will thrive in this spot. You're not going to fool me and say Carolina is hot because they beat a bunch of bad teams.
Seattle is also getting back their pro bowl center back this week, he's played only 5 games this year. The panthers are satisfied with what they've accomplished this year, Seattle is on a mission. Seattle 34 Carolina 10

...or two good defenses could detract from the scoring. Seems like an awfully species reason to bet the over. Panthers are a run first offense and Cam looked horrible with his accuracy last week.

Hey P/hat take note of what a insightful post is all about.
The Myth is the one you need to watch, goofball.
Thanks Luckyman7, I appreciate the kind words. Hey, I'm wrong a lot of the time too, but not as often as I am correct. I make money at his game by being patient, picking my spots and NEVER lay more than 6 points in the pro's. Good luck to you Luckyman! - THE Myth

There's always a team everyone thinks won't make it to the finals, that team this year is the Panthers. Wouldn't it be something if the Panthers win it all!!!
Panthers are hungry and it's their time to shine. The Texas A&M 12th man won't help, this game's going to be close.
Panthers (+11.0) at the very least cover, at best, win outright.
Good teams win games, Great teams cover the spread!

This is when stars are born. Next man steps in and who knows next year the job could be theirs.

Don't overthink this one. Seattle is the far better team and the three previous close contests were in Carolina. I'm taking Seattle -10.5 or 11. Its all over for Carolina, this is not Ryan Lindley or a weak NFC South opponent. Seattle will dominate and the score will not be close.
