    Last week, Cincinnati found a new way to lose while Philadelphia finally found a way to win.Both teams have been disappointments, but the Eagles have no real reason to play the final 3 games of the season.Cincinnati is still in the hunt for a wild-card spot. In a game where  the Philly players merely show up to get their paycheck, I have the Bengals winning & covering. Cincinnati  28-21.

There's value here on the eagles money line. By game time you should be able to get 2:1 odds. I'll take a shot with the home dog to win this one outright. I disagree with vue and think the Eagles have a lot to play for. The current starters on offense are all showcasing their skills and trying to secure a job for next season.  I think the number is correct and this one should come down to the wire. I just see a lot of value and have no problem taking the home dog in this spot with a chance to double up.  GL

Philly will not have the benefit of a weak defense to throw against. Benjarvis gets his thousand and then some. Ecu had it right. 31-17. Bengals and ov for the large

To their credit eagles have been playing much harder and better.. Cincy should have enough D to keep Foles and Brown in check.. I think people are reading too much into the Eagles' win and the Bengals' loss last week.. If the results were opposite, best believe more people would be on the Bengals.. Short week usually favors the more veteran QB as well, although veteran isn't a word I'd use to describe Dalton.. I'm thinking Cincy 1H is the best play here, as I don't like laying more then 3 in this one

they were on the road!!
with nothing to play for.....

against a young hungry team with a shot at the playoffs!!

can you explain why they didn't lay down last week on the road but will this week on national tv at home.....

i gotta hear this one.

You're read on this game is in left field. The Eagles defense has been stepping it up (held a high scoring Tampa team to 21 in Tampa). Meanwhile the Bengals have a stout defense as well. Held 'Boys to 20 points LW. Combine that and you come up with... 49 points this week?

Nah. You're on the wrong side, too. Philly is getting better, going home energized - Rookie gaining confidence... Philly +4.5 and Under 46 is the play.

I still think that they are playing for Andy's job. Everyone assumes he will be fired at the end of the year but if he finishes the season with a winning streak & new good looking QB then I will bet he gets another chance. It's very hard to find a coach as good as Reid & don't forget that!

Stepping it up? Maybe your short term memory is bad, but in the five weeks prior to last week's win they've given up 38, 30, 31, and 38. I would hardly call one game a turn around. This defense is still bad. And their offensive line is going to have their hands full trying to protect Foles from the Bengals front seven. They lead the NFL is sacks. 

I don't know what Koolaid people have been drinking, but this is either a Cincy -4.5 or no play.

I am a fan of Foles but he is still a rookie.  I expect Cinci's pass rush to put all sorts of pressure on Foles - he will look like a rookie tonight serving up at least 3 picks.  The Bengals at -4.5 is the play for me.

I can't trust either team. Cincinnati is the better team, but Marvin Lewis can't beat anyone convincingly. He is a terrible coach, so I think the best answer is to tease Philadelphia with another team on the card. GL all

Hey Vue, how come you don't list your picks as "small" or "large" or "prime", etc. anymore? I miss that, because that would actually help me gauge how much I was laying out on a particular game.

Just because the Eagles aren't in playoff contention does not mean that they have nothing to play for. Andy Reid is making every effort to retain his job, which he should. True he made some bad decisions, but he isn't the one on the field not tackling. At this point basically every player on that team is playing his behind off for a roster spot next season.

ill take andy reids coaching ability over marvin lewis's coaching ability any day of the weak , lewis will somehow find a way to screw up and i like the eagles back at home after the comeback win

We have 2 teams that had some really tight games last week. I didn't take a side in the Cincy-Dallas game, but my hunch was correct in that the good-for-nothing Eagles would play the spoiler roil and pretty much eliminate the Bucs from playoff contention. Can the Eagles deal the Bengals the same fate at Lincoln Financial this Thursday?  

To be honest, I'm not a 100% sure about this one. Non conference games can be really tricky. While its never my style to ride with the public on a Thursday night game, I think the Bengals match up fairly well against the Eagles. The Bengals lost a tough one last week against a Dallas defense that obviously played with a lot of heart and emotion. The Cowboys defense was able to bend-but-not-break, and kept the Bengals to 1-4 in the redzone, as the Bengals settled for 3 field goals that were 33 yards or less. If AJ Green doesn't drop a 7-yard slant route, we are talking about the 8-5 Bengals with the inside track to the AFC wild card. AJ Green has even blamed himself for last week's loss, and I expect him to bounce back with a vengeance this Thursday, and put up big numbers. The Eagles put way too much faith in Asomugah, and often leave him on an island with the other teams best receiver. Also keep in mind, AJ hasn't scored a TD in his last 3 games, after scoring a TD a game for the first 9 games of the year! I think the Bengals will be much better in the redzone this time around. 

As for the Eagles offense, they obviously are playing like a more cohesive unit with Foles and Brown as everyday starters. Jason Avant and Maclin have also done a great job picking up the slack for the missing DeSean Jackson. Although Bryce Brown was completely shut down last week by Tampa, I don't think the Bengals will be able to duplicate that effort with the young back playing in a primetime setting. The one problem with last week's performance that I absolutely can't ignore, and has been a problem all season, is pass protection. Foles was sacked 5 times by the Bucs, and I expect things could get even worse when the Bengals square off against them. 

When people think of the Bengals, they usually think of the Red Rifle and AJ Green. Their defense, however, is quietly having a phenomenal season and in my opinion, becoming the identity of this team. Mike Zimmer should definitely be in the mix for head coaching jobs next season. The Bengals lead the league in sacks and have the 11th ranked rush defense. The most impressive part of this team is no doubt their defensive line. Geno Atkins and Domata Peko are quietly becoming two of the more formidable and versatile defensive tackles in the league, and when you add Carlos Dunlap and Michael Johnson coming off the edges, you can understand why they are so effective in rushing the passer WITHOUT USING THE BLITZ.  That spells problems for an Eagle offensive line that has really struggled with their pass protection.  And that doesn't bode well for a young quarterback who will have to decipher some more zone coverages than he's used to seeing. Being a young quarterback in the NFL is really a roller coaster ride.  Last week was a terrific performance and an emotional high, but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a dud this week. 

We all know Andy Reid's problem. He doesn't run the ball enough! And with his new toy, Nick Foles, I think he will continue to make that mistake. You could get away with that when you play one of the league's worst secondaries in Tampa...but the Bengals pass rush could be the medicine for the Eagles.  

WIth a road game at Pittsburgh on the horizon (followed by a home game against Baltimore), I think the Bengals will play with a sense of urgency and find a way to win this game. If  the Eagles don't pull off the upset, they will have the opportunity to play spoiler in the next 2 weeks against Washington and the Giants.  

I will be watching the line movement very closely, but right now I am hesitant to lay 4 points. Marvin Lewis has a history of horrible clock managment and I'm not sure if I trust the Bengals enough if this becomes a close game.

After seeing the eagles come from behind to beat tampa bay wasnt a surprise, hell the buccs couldnt stop a high school from the throwing the ball down the field, philly has confidence but will face a bengals defense that has more sacks than anyone in the league and a secondary will probably get a few picks tonight. With that being sad the benagals win tonight.

Philadelphia has been playing much better football of late.I like the way they slowed down the highpowered Tampa Bay offense.They are playing  with  new players that are now stepping up.If that young RB can hold on to the rock,the  defense show up like they did on the road vs TB and Foles continues to manage the game.  Phillie run s the ball successfully of late,Reid will use screens to get out in space here.The Bengals will be on center stage and primetime playing for a playoff spot and Like the Houston Texans (MNF),will not be ready for primetime.PHILLIE +4.5

Anyone who watched the cincy dallas game last week realizes that although the bengals found a way to lose, they absolutely dominated the entire game on both sides of the ball. I had dallas that game but honestly it was a total moosejob for natti backers to not win the game easily. 

Natti's d line imo is among the best in the nfl, tonight they match up vs. arguably the worst offensive line (along with dallases and chicagos) in the nfl. Last week romo was under duress most of the game, and if not for some inexplicable red zone meltdowns by natti receivers natti blows dallas out. 

Foles has  been a pleasant surprise for philly but his success has come among 2 assbad pass defenses imo, dallas and tampa. Tonight he faces off against the third rated defense in the nfl. 

The eagles overpaid corners didn't do much last week to slow down tampa, that was more of a product of josh freeman having an absolute stinker of a game and missing wide open receivers early and often. 

Ill take the better team and lay the chalk in this one, philly hasn't quit but their corners have, their o line sucks, and their d line is pathetic. Philly will make it interesting in the first half, but it will be shortlived. Natti minus the points for me.

Cin -3.5 (got them early yesterday)

This is a must win for the Bengals as it sets up a huge game next week @ Pittsburgh which may determine who gets the 6th seed.

The difference in this game is how efficient the Bengals will be scoring touchdowns in the red zone and turnovers. Turnovers killed Philly in both loses to Dallas and Carolina in the 4th quarter. 

Bengals front 7 will be looking for sacks and stripping the ball out from Foles & Brown
