I can't disagree with Dallas.  I'm a dallas fan, but not a homer.  I'm looking at it this way.  New Orleans has to lose sometime...unless they just go 19-0 and head for Sb glory.  Dallas would be the last road bump to a darn near perfect season.
 
I'm not saying Dallas straight up by any means, but who would have thought Wash and Atl  (w/out Ryan and Turner no doubt) could hang w/ new orleans. I would make a small play, but Dallas covering wouldn't be a stretch for me at all.

The score will be 28-0 at halftime. Romo throws 50 times. This sets up nice for the Washington Redskin game the next week. Dallas will be shell shocked when they land at Washington.

NO 48, Dallas 14 (late 4th quarter TD).

DALLAS is 1-8 ATS in the last 4 weeks of the regular season over the last 3 seasons.
DALLAS is 10-23 ATS as a road underdog of 3.5 to 7 points since 1992.
DALLAS is 1-9 ATS (-8.9 Units) in December games over the last 3 seasons.

Good teams win games, Great teams cover the spread!

and now is giving 7 to Dallas?

 

no way they cover.... gimmie Dallas to the bank....

 

where are all the NO frontrunners?  who dat who dat

 

if you look at the teams that have given NO problems... they have been running teams...


Dallas runs the ball well... I think they keep it close....

 

or probably go up to win the game and ROMO throws a dumb INT so that Brees miraculously drives down the field and they hit a game winning field goal....

I'll take 7 thank you

I live in dallas and i believe everyone has lost all hope for the cowboys this year. They just seem to disappoint every year. Folk is garbage. Romo is garbage. Ware was hurt. Roy Williams needs to go to prison and get some ball handling training. Wade will not coach ever again, hopefully. 

I'll take who dat -7.

so what you are saying is that you are taking a sample of 1 game to judge the Dallas Cowboys running game which is one of the best in the league? becuase Barber didn't reach the endzone on a goal-line stand?

it's not like they we're playing the STL Rams.... this is the SD Chargers who have won 7-8 in a row....

If you analyze the games that NO has almost lost, they have problems with teams that can run the football well...

and despite Dallas's inability to run the ball into the endzone last week they run the ball very well....

the only part of your argument that I agree with is Phillips is terrible.... but Romo isn't a bad qb, and their defense is good, and their run game is good..... and I hate the cowboys lol

but 7 points?

This is it... The game to stop the Depressing Dallas Decembers of the past.
Dallas has played well in recent weeks... despite the outcomes, and the Saints haven't... well consistantly.

just read this... thought it was an interesting quote....

 

Nothing gets my ire up quite like the tight jumbo package at the goal line. Think about what you get on offense – you take key playmakers off the field, you limit your play-calling options and you invite more defenders to the point of attack. Why do so many teams insist on playing it this way? Don't blame Marion Barber(notes) for the failures at the goal against San Diego, he was ambushed by his coaching staff.

What Cowboy team will show up this week, that's the question we'd all like to know the answer to. But 7 points is too many even to a Cowboy team that has been struggling in recent Decembers. This could be the week the Saints can't come from behind, but I just ain't sold yet. I think I'll just take the points for a small wager.

This is going to be another NO vs NE game over before it begins.  The Saints play there best against half decent teams and i can't believe i am putting Dallas in the list of half decent teams.

   WHO DAT?       First off- where in the hell is "PickyBoy" running his mouth off because I said LW the "Dirty Birds" own the Saints. Of course, everybody here knew I was talking about the spread (now Atlanta 2-0 ATS against N.O.!)  Not some fantasy football league! With that being said, I will give WHO DATS all the props they deserve. And they're are having one hell of a season! Go Saints!!..........Have not yet fully analyzed this matchup but as always Break a Bookie has really planted some seeds for thought!

Saints have the edge in almost every aspect and have one of the best homefield's in the NFL, especially this year.  Saints have a tendency for blowing teams out, Dallas has a tendency to get blown out late in the year lately. 

This will be the hardest game Romo has ever been asked to win in this hostile environment I'm glad the Saints have not covered and only won by 3 the last two so that we get a better number here, a truer line to me is NO -9,

 They were coming off 2 lackluster (by their standards) games before blowing out NYG at home, then off 2 div. games they won but failed to cover before the Pats blowout at home.  I like the matchups here across the board, I don't like that Saints CB's are injured but have faith in the coaching staff down there and I believe they will get some takeaway's.

That was when N.O. fans had the brown bags over their heads.  Expect more of the same of the above scores but there will be no brown bags in the crowd.  Lets go with the average of the above scores N.O. 23    DAL 10.

Just another tid bit everyone of those games were in December.  Did someone say that Dallas always has trouble in the month of December.

 Thought I just throw in a little tidbit from my spread records. LY - N.O. (after a SU win) covered only 33 % of their next games. This year the undefeated Saints (after their bye week) TY are are just 3 - 5  against the number! Put it all together , and their record is a very uninspiring 6-5 ATS (after each win)! Plus this team is not exactly the Bucaneers- they are fighting for a play-off spot here, while the Saints are "wrapping" things up. 7 points is a lot of juice,pal!!

Well, consider the Saints are averaging 36 pts @ home this year while beating every opponent by 8 or more, and the posted total is 53,

I don't think its unrealistic, based on what you say you should probably hammer the under if that seems way to high to you.  I won't be playing a total at all, just taking a guess at the score, but what I like is  Saints -7

The spread suggests that the Saints are 4 pts better than the Cowboys, I believe there is more of an edge there, hence my bet.

 I'm not afraid to lay 7 with a team thats style of play dictates a higher probability of a double digit victory.  If this line was -9, like it should be, I might waver but will take my chances on -7 as spreads from 1 to 7 only differentiate from SU results 10% of the time as a general rule from season to season.  So I'm taking a team I project has a high probability of winning the game SU and taking a gamble on the number, in which odds are greatly in my favor.
