 Brady Quinn (vs. DEN):The Browns were smart to give Quinn his first NFL start against the Broncos, who have struggled to stop the pass all year, allowing 243.3 yards per game with 12 touchdowns and three interceptions. Denver also is without four starters on defense, including defensive backs Champ Bailey and Marlon McCree. Quinn might not have much more success than Derek Anderson, especially if Kellen Winslow doesn't play well and Braylon Edwards keeps dropping the ball. But this is a good week to find out, and if you need a Fantasy quarterback, Quinn is worth starting. Some other quarterbacks who can be used as sleepers this week include Tyler Thigpen (at SD), Marc Bulger (at NYJ), Shaun Hill (at ARI), Trent Edwards (at NE) and Joe Flacco (at HOU).

I have to back CLE here. It's a good spot for Quinn to start but it won't be all on him. I can see Jamal lewis getting loose on a run defense that is struggling. CLE definitely has its problems but I can see them keeping it together enough at home to cover here.

Denver D may not be great, but I'll take the veteran Cutler and the points. How many QBs excel in their 1st game? If Denver takes the early lead Quinn will feel the pressure. I expect Denver to really blitz Quinn early and often.

broncos are getting back ryan torain (as mentioned by the DEN MLer) and i have heard nothing but heavy praise about this kid... shannahan loves him... had he not gone down early, he would probably be their featured back and there may be more running in denver, but here is where i think they get back to the basics... the denver run game featuring a heavy dose of torain (and the obligatory selvin young, cuz i think he's back too).  if i'm right here, the O/U may be skewed due to running a lot of clock in the run game, but i'm more concerned with the fact that cutler won't be able to fumble this W away.  On the other side of the ball, how often do first time QBs on losing teams come out and NOT do something to lose the game.

i have to look at who cleveland has played   NFC EAST  the hardest conference to play for any teams.  and they faired well against them mybe not winning all of  them   but they almost beat my skins and beat the giants right, now if they are prepared as they were agsinst these teams I should see a good blow out tonight  as we all know betting  nfl can be a risk on any given week  My money is on  Quinn and the browns

SAVE YOUR MONEY, BROWNS! THIS ONE COULD GET CRAZY EARLY WITH GWEN, ERRRR, QUINN GIVING THE ROCK TO FAT DUDE AND SCORING, THEN DENVER FLINGING IT.  wHY NO OVERS HERE.  BOTH DEFENSES STINK! AND REMEMBER THE GIANTS BROWNS GAME, ERROS SKEWED THAT ONE.  DENVER IS TERRIBLE, SO ARE BROWNS BUT HOME AND BOTH NEED THE WIN!  BROWNS IN A MASHER..27-20

This game has NO PLAY written all over it...
The Broncos suck outright with no D and No Heart
The Browns suck with no Coach and little heart. (though they did play well on national tv against GMEN)
Cant go over because both teams cant score
Cant go under because both teams make tons of miscues
Could like home team with new enthusiasm (Quinn) but still have ROMEO to deal with

Bottom line is even though I am a degenerate I am up large this week therefore NO PLAY

Browns Stadium will be rockin' for the NFL's first Thursday Night match up and let's not forget Brady Quinn's first start as a Brown. The Browns have scored 62 points in their last two home games against the Ravens # 2 DEF and the Giants # 3 DEF. Meanwhile, the Broncos are 2-8 in their last 10 SU and 1-6 ATS the spread in their last 7 road games and 3 - 12 ATS in their last 15. The Broncos have also given up 74 points in their last two road games. The Browns should be able to establish the run and create a passing attack. Braylon finally steps up and starts making catches now that his QB is in.

 

I am going with the Browns -3 and over 46. I think the OVER will be decided more by how many points Cleveland scores as I don’t know if Denver will capable of scoring more than 17 tonight.

Anderson completion rating was under 50%. THAT'S TERRIBLE.  Have to believe Quinn will do much better.

quinn might be what the browns need in terms of some sort of spark.  playing at home during primetime will also be a not so pleasent environment for the broncos either.  if cutler gets rattled early, this one will be over.

Why is everybody all over Brady Quinn? What has he done to prove to anybody that he will perform well? If the Browns are struggling with last year's Pro Bowl QB Derek Anderson, I doubt Brady Quinn will do any better:

Browns at home with Brady Quinn replacing the poor Derek Anderson. I look for the Browns to pull away in the second half in this game and the over as well. The Browns just scored 27 on the Ravens who have a great D, imagine how many they're going to score on the Broncos with a better quarterback. And Cutler will be able to move the ball on the Browns D, it will be a question of how many interceptions in scoring position he throws. I expect him to have a bounce back game. Either way, Denvers D couldn't stop Texas Tech and the Browns will pull away in a high scoring game 31-18.

If you want to win your bet TAKE CLEVELAND.  Here is why.. 
The crowd will be electric that Brady is starting, Cleveland fans have been asking for this since week 1. Brady has something Anderson does not and that is LEGS, he will be able to scramble out of the pocket better and find his receivers. Also Brady wants to be the quarterback of the future for his home state team and with heart and guts alone he will perform well to keep the starting position. Count on Cleveland's defensive backs to be all over Cutler's aerial attack. McDonald and Wright should both have an INT in this game.
