yeah looks good on papaer... untill i turn on the tv and detroit is up 14 to 0 ha ha.nah i`m a sucker for those 3 team 10 point teaz`s. i did great last year on them its just that you cant start looking at 6 or 9 games. the goal is pick 3 teams out of all the college and pros add the 10 points to them and hope for the best. if you look do some research you should be able to find 3 games you like with the 10 points added on.also you can go with a under or over with them. just stay with your 3 and dont get greedy.
GOODLUCK TO ALL

Possible LOOK-AHEAD edge for the Lions; the Saints have the Eagles next week, so they may treat this like another preseason game. It's the first game of the year and the Lions were money last year as double digit dogs... I'll go with Lions +13.

I know you are just kidding and great points about the teaser strategies.
Guys, look, I am not a HOMER. NOT. I am a MASSIVE, and I mean, MASSIVE, Saints supporter. I have jerseys of players most NFL fans don't even know play the game. I have bet on a bunch of Saints games.....................and only on the Saints ONCE.
ONCE!!!!!!
Every other time against them.
Know thy them, profit from thy team.
However, I have followed every move and fart this team has made from June onward. The defense will be 3x better than last season and will be the #1 biggest surprise of the 1st Half of the NFL season. See my post in this thread from July 4th. WOW! That long ago? Where did the time go?
Offense is ticking hard. PT is out, but Bell is a beast this year. His personal comments have him on a mission and he will have a revival this year. Brees is thinking Super Bowl. The Saints defense is on something else.
A reporter asked Jeff Charleston about facing a rookie QB in his first start. One that was the 1st pick in the draft and made $41 Million dollars without evening stepping on the football field.
His reply?
"FRESH MEAT."
Whatever you do, DO NOT take the Lions in this one. You'll need a lucky stroke to cover. There are much better games out there if you are thinking of playing this weekend. Seriously. Again, not a homer talking, as this will be only the second time in 18 years I will be backing my Saints.
What else can I tell you?

His knee was about 65% earlier this week. I am assuming he is having trouble with full motion on it. I knew PT would be out on Monday. Coaching staff will not risk him against the Lions. I give it an 85-90% chance of playing versus the Eagles next week. You should also pick up Mike Bell if you can. At any rate, the injury doesn't seem to be anything more serious than taking time to get it right.

I'm new to posting on forums, but I'm going to make one point that no one has mentioned.
I completely agree with HeadoverHeart and that don't waste your time taken the lions because New Orleans will win. But everyone is mentioning taking the over or that it will be a high scoring game.
Imagine being the Detroit Lions last year when New Orleans demolished them and racked up all those points on their defense! Don't you think they're a little embarrassed and are out to prove something. I'm not saying they are going to shut down Drew Brees, but they sure aren't going to allow another 42 points again.
As headoverheart was sayen, New orleans defense has dramtically improved. So I'm going to have take the under for this one.

Matthew Stafford is probably thinking "Matt Ryan touchdown on the first pass" status, but I don't think that's going to happen.
Even if the Lions score a lot, they CAN'T stop anything. We all know the Saints can score, but I'm almost positive the Lions don't defend better than the Saints do tomorrow.
I'll listen to HeadoverHeart with this one.
Saints 34 || Lions 17

BOYS BEWARE THIS IS NOT THE SAME DETROIT LIONS TEAM AND IF THE SAINTS DON'T SHOW UP WITH A 100% EFFORT THEY MAY EVEN END UP LOSING THIS ONE. THE LIONS HAVE HAD SOME GREAT ADDITIONS AT TE, LB POSITION, AND WITH CJ THEY HAVE ONE OF THE BEST WR IN THE LEAGUE. NOT TO MENTION STAFFORD CAN ALMOST THROW THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE FOOTBALL FIELD AND IS VERY POISED. THIS MAY BE THE BEST LION TEAM IN DECADES. BEWARE OF THE ROAR. P.S I'M A DIE HARD LIONS FAN.

Don't forget though that the new and improved Saints defense will undoubtably give Brees and Co. a much shorter field than last season. Brees had to drive 80-90 yards every drive last year. Better defense equals better field position equals more scoring for New Orleans. Personally, I'd stay off the O/U.

I will not let you guys sucker me into overthinking this one. This is one of the best teams in the NFL vs. one of the worst. One of the best QB's in the league vs. a QB playing his first game. This is a team that lights up the scoreboard vs. a team that has trouble scoring. If I'm wrong i'll be surprised and it is what it is. But this is not a layoff game. This is a must play!
SAINTS - 13 1/2

detroit getting no respect like they deserve. but hey they are only going up from there. this is just too many points. saints could kill them but like someone said they usually play down to their competition. jsut too many possibilities of a cover for detroit here. Turnovers, back door, prevent defense, detroit scores first and goes up 7-0. gimme detroit +13.5

No real stats to use or start from so it's guessing time. IMHO I don't think Detroit will let Stafford go pass crazy and put the young qb at risk. I see a more controlled game plan for the Lions. Saints are very strong on offense but it's the first game of the season and the rust will probably slow the scoring down a bit.
I feel 49 points is too high for this game...
Under 49
Aloha and good luck to all

As we
all know, Stafford will be a starter in this game and I think that is
an awful decision, because he will face a pretty good team, in a very
difficult field and for a rookie, that can end very bad. Of course
these Lions will not repeat again their 0-16 record, but they will not
do much better this season. The biggest issue of Detroit is their
inability to stop the opponent's offense, both rushing game and passing
game, and because of that, they suffer a lot of touchdowns per game and
the Saints are all about scoring TDs with ease.
The Saints were a bog dissapointment last season, but they
improved their weak spot, their defense, which is better now and with
the excellent offense this team has, they have good chances to reach
the Playoffs. QB Brees shows great skill in throwing the ball very
deep in the field and the Lions defense is not suited to counter it
properly. With their home field advantage, I believe this will be a
Blowout game for the Saints.

Anyway, I like first half NO. They will start too fast for lions. 1 man can't change a team in one season. I wish the best for stafford, just not in this game :)

That sounds like a lot of risk just for 10k.
