No disrespect taken, you are one of the few active members in these forums that have been on covers longer than I have and I have respect for you. I know you fully embrace the aloha spirit. I just wish you could have used it on these other people before I had to chime in with my vulgar style. For obvious exposure reasons (who reads yesterdays news?) I chose to post on this thread, however, I should have just let it be. I guess my original goal was the same as yours, which was to simply weed out the useless bashing and post bashing of valued members picks in the threads. Sometimes people need to be called out.
Mahalo
Glad you understand my bruddah
Sorry I missed the others and you feel like I pointed you out first but I truly didn't mean to do it that way. Like I stated I'm not trying to be the official covers peace maker in here it's just your post caught my attention due to it pertaining to members not posting on this thread as of yet. Normally when I see bashing going back and forth on the thread I normally try to avoid and skip over them and find the useful info. So I do apologize if you felt that way I wasn't trying to point you out as an individual.
Good luck and Mele Kalikimaka to you and the family

Anyway back to this game...I had the Eagles last week against the Bears and loss of course but it troubled me that the Bears put up so many points on the Eagles defense. I feel offensively the Texans has a much stronger offense than the Bears and should be able to keep it close with the Eagles. The Texans running game this season helped open up the Texans passing game.
Still thinking and if I cannot choose a side I may just take the over.

Aloha my brother!
I like the over due to the possible passing game planned by the Eagles to test the weak Texans passing defense. Both offenses have the capability to break big plays in their passing game and with Samuel hurt or playing hurt the Texans might test the waters a bit through the air. Hobbs is already out and probably retired so Samuel has basically been the back bone of the defense. The Texans Arian Foster has been breaking some big ones as well in their run game so he should play a major factor on how the Eagles defense game plan against the Texans.
The Eagles can get you on the ground and through the air as well. Dual run threats with Vick back there behind center and Mccoy will not be easy to defend for the Texans defense. The Eagles have a whole lot of speed on offense which could mean trouble for the Texans defense. I wish they produced last week but oh well that game is done and over with.
That's basically why I'm stuck on the sides and just thought I would play on the over and just cheer for both sides to score like crazy
I would feel better if we were on the same side on the total my friend but I wish you good luck on your plays brother

well the great thing about this website is we ALL can all post our insight and the reason for chosing the side or the O/U.
I dont see any need to be vulgar about it , just state your facts and why you chose the side or the way you chose to wager. then we can all make our own choices with our own hard earned $.
Best of luck to everyone.
Eagles -9 ,for 1 unit 9 points is a lot of points but they can pull it off
Eagles offense #2 in the NFL , Houston #7
Eagles defense #10 in the NFL , House #28
that spells trouble
EAGLES -9
only certain teams can control vick ,Hosuton aint one of them

First two sentences i couldn't have said it any better myself. Way to many haters and bashers on here. I don't mind discussing any game and not everyone is going to have the same opinion on a game just discuss your reasoning and move on.

HA...ya maybe when I get all mature, intelligent, and grown up like yourself I will also sign off with "Aloha and RIP", ya aloha and rest in peace...a real grown up you are there guy. Sorry if you are offended by foul language. Anyways apologies to you bigdaddy this is the last time I will respond to anything of this nature in the thread.
I think the real edge the Eagles have is their ability to create turnovers and homefield. I cant remember who said it but I also agree that Andre Johnson may have lit a fire up under his teamates *buttocks which is a little scary...and I am sure Houston will score some points, however one fumble or one interception combined with the inability to protect against vick and the pass will ultimately be the difference maker. Eagles probably win by 10.
mele kalikimaka to you as well biggy and your family . I might miss the game as I am planning on attending the opening ceremony of the Eddie Aikau on Thursday. Should be a good day either way.

With your score shouldn't you be playing the ML? Not too confident, eh?

Well, I use to post often on here and try and keep track of my plays. However, I've not posted very often this football season and I see that I haven't missed much. Guys are still on here bashing and calling names. I think the basis for this site is to share insight and input and win as much money as possible. So what if a guy posts in BOLD and brags aboout how great his picks are. Who cares, really? Let's concentrate on the games and winning money. I wish everyone the best of luck.
Not that anyone cares, but I am taking Philly -9. I expect Vick and the Eagles to come out and put up a lot of points tonight and win by double digits.

With five games left to play in the regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles are tied for first place in the NFC East with the New York Giants with a road date with the G-Men still on the schedule. Andy Reid has been quiet most of the year as his team has played well. Philadelphia has had their share of ups and downs and the downs included last Sunday's game at Soldier Field where they were handled by the Bears. Michael Vick finally threw his first interception of the season as he has completed 63.4 percent of his passesfor 1,941 yards with 13 touchdowns and just the one interception and he has run for 419 yards and five touchdowns. LeSean McCoy appears to be getting better as the season goes on and he is averaging five yards per carry as he's rushed for 779 yards and six touchdowns. McCoy also leads the Eagles in receptions with 49 but i's Jeremy Maclin who leads in receiving yards catching 51 passes for 752 yards and eight touchdowns and DeSean Jackson has 35 catches for 678 yards and five touchdowns. The Eagles are playing their usual physical defense and Quintin Mikell leads in tackles with 59 and Stewart Bradley has 53. Trent Cole has nine sacks and Juqua Parker has five as the Eagles have 30 sacks as a team, Asante Samuel is still one of the best ball hawkers in the game as he has seven interceptions with the Eagles grabbing 19 as a team. For the season Philadelphia is averaging 28.2 points and 399.3 yards per game while the defense is allowing 23.4 points and 315.9 yards per game.
The Houston Texans ended a four game losing streak last time out as they pitched a shutout against the Tennessee Titans. The shutout was a real about face for the Texans whose shoddy defense has been an absolute sieve allowing 29 or more points for six consecutive weeks. Matt Schaub has completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,752 yards with 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions while being sacked 24 times. Arian Foster is emerging as one of the top running backs in the NFL as he's rushed for 1,147 yards with 12 touchdowns. Andre Johnson has 65 receptions for 869 yards and five touchdowns and he doesn't look like he will face a suspension for last week's on field fight. Bernard Pollard has 85 tackles to lead the team and Zac Diles has 72 for the troubled Texan defense. Mario Williams leads Houston with right and a half sacks and Clover Quin leads in interceptions with three. For the season Houston is averaging 24 points and 367.6 yards while the defense is allowing 26.1 points and 386.4 yards per game.
Philadelphia is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games against a team with a losing record, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games following a straight up loss, and 6-2 against the spread after allowing 30 points their previous game. Houston is 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games as a road underdog, 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games overall, and 1-3-1 against the spread in their lastr five games following a straight up win.
While the Texans allowed zero points last week, it was against a third string QB and isn't a sign that all is well with the Houston defense. The Philadelphia defense looked vulnerable last week as the Bears used a balanced attack and the Philadelphia secondary looks bruised. Houston's offense is going to present a lot of the same problems for the Eagles as they had last week while the Texans defense is going back to their long days like they have experienced most of the year. With the total set at 51 here, I think it sails past this number with no problem at all.

Bro I mean no disrespect to you but my friend W8 nor the bashers are on this thread as of yet and for now you are starting something in here that does not pertain to the members currently on this thread.
This will be the only NFL game on for Thursday and as a covers member like the others currently on here not involved in the back and forth bashing I believe would appreciate this one and only NFL thread not to be cluttered with useless bashing.
W8 - If you get on this thread as I know you will being a BIG Texans fan please my brother just remember what I told you...Those that matter in here know you are good and that's all that matters. I know you are really good so don't feed into all that bashing and just do what you do my brother. Keep on celebrating your victories on here and when you have the chance come back in here to post your losses just to make the bashers happy...which should be rare a post considering how much more wins than losses you have.
Notw8 and other bashers - I do understand freedom of speech and everything so I'm not saying you are completely wrong in speaking your mind. I get pissed myself when I lose but I don't fault the others for celebrating in here as I would celebrate as well if I win. Everyone shows emotion win or lose it's a part of gambling just need to deal with the ups and downs of wagering. I personally don't like to lose but when I do I take my lumps post my loss and congratulations to others. I don't have to come in here and post anything I just do....but remember ladies and gentlemen it's not a covers policy that all wins and losses must be posted in here.
My suggestion to everyone involved in the bashing is to start your own thread and go at it. That would help members trying to gather info on the game from not having to go through all the bashing clutter....just a suggestion
I'm not trying to be the official covers peace maker in here but football season is nearing the end and I want to try gather as much useful info in here on every game to make as much money as I can before waiting several months again to wager. I would hate to see all this bashing go from thread to thread and just a never ending clutter.
Happy Holidays!
BIGDADDDY - THANKS FOR BEING ABOVE IT ALL AND BEING THE COVERS CONSCIENCE.... YOUR A COOL HEAD IN A HEATED ROOM, YOUR THE JESUS, THE GANDHI, THE MARTIN LUTHER KING, THE DALAI LAMA, THE..... SORRY, I GOT CARRIED AWAY... I MEAN I 2ND THAT MOTION...
