Be the fresher team: This is the Thursday night game and playing in Philadelphia is always difficult. But the Eagles looked like a tired football team last week and have played a tough stretch of games lately. Philadelphia is not turning the ball over much this season and it has been great at taking it away. And Houston's defense has been terrible at creating turnovers. As a whole, this is a terrible situation for the Texans -- on the road in a hostile environment. The Texans caused three turnovers last week, all interceptions by Glover Quin. Michael Vick threw his first interception of the season against Chicago. The Eagles do commit a lot of penalties, though.

I should of known this would happen. The day I wanted to play on the total in this game damn local has the total off.

I was having a hard time picking a side in this one so this play might just kick me in the butt. I'm taking a chance that the Eagles starts off strong in this one. Hard to say coming off a short week but the Eagles are at home while the Texans are traveling on a short week.

I get nervous when I need to almost give a touchdown headstart on NFL teams in the first half but I'm doing it anyway.

Keeping it real here though my brother...props like that should go out my bro from covers DW7. He lives on the mainland and worked really hard in getting out toys for a local shelter here on Maui for the kids to enjoy on Christmas. I got BIG love and respect for that brother.

Whenever you see DW7 on the threads that's the guy who deserves major props like that.

I'm not sure how you can bet the Eagles (at least minus the 9) with much confidence.

-- As someone pointed out already, nine points is a lot of points to give in an NFL game between two quality teams.  And the Texans are not a bad team. The Eagles might be looking to take out their frustrations from the Bears game out on that porous D...but Houston can still play people. 

Bad defense or not, I think the Texans at least make it a game. Houston +9. Teasing it to +16 in my Houston +17/Cavs +10.5 teaser . GL all

Be careful, this is a must win for Philly & they "could" easily beat Houston 35-10, But I can't see Houston doing the same. More than Likely, even with all the injuries and other factors taken into consideration, Philly will take this like 35-24

(watch it end up like 20-17)

Last i heard, Texans had the worst pass defense in the league....looks like an easy win for the Dog Killer

It a short week for "both" teams, and the Eagles are at home - After playing against da Bears D, Houston will feel like a walk in the park.

Bigdaddy, I believe that your Philly at the half is a safe bet as Andy has his first 20 played already called and Vick will Click...

Houston's Offense will not be on the field enough to catch up

Philly by 16 in the end, 33 - 17

My apologies to Petey and W8lifter for calling them out at times. Thanks to others in this post for helping see the light. I just let some get to me and it goes back and forth. Amazed how others bash one person for bashing though. Makes no sense. Thanks to bigdaddy and others for showing that disagreements can be and or okay.

To this game! I really like the over. Both teams can score and will. I think Philly puts up 34 points or more against a defense that is 31st overall against the pass and has allowed 25 TD's in the air. The Bears did a good job against the Eagles secondary and Samuels may be a game time decision. I can see Houston putting up at least 21. So over for me

This game goes OVER, but Texans cover the 9 points. Take the Texans and the OVER.

Just wanted to know if anyone in here lives near the area and can provide some accurate weather info...much appreciated.

Since my local has the total off for this one I was thinking I was going to hammer the 1st half play I have like I was going to on the total.

Good work BIG DADDY...voice of reason.....maybe PR could have cleaned up the content but I can see his point.  Either way, let's some more time trying to make money rather than bickering....

The Eagles owe BIG DADDY AND I MONEY from last week when they had a major bed wetting in the Red Zone.   They have had a tough schedule....but it is a short week.   I will probably take EAGLES - 8 (buying)...SMALL

AND OVER SMALL..  BOL.

I agree....and I had the Skins in that Monday nighter against Philly in an effort to "out-think" the public   Upon seeing the 1st quarter score, I immediately wished I took that $100 and went to the strip club instead


But the Texans have only been blown out twice this year...once by the Giants and once by dallas back near the beginning of the year. If the Eagles do cover the 9, I'd like to think the Texans can keep it within 14. Big game for both sides....if the Bears can hang 30 on Philly, the Texans should be able to stick around in a shootout (IMO).

Does anyone think DeSean Jckson's conratct dispute will play a role in the OVER tonight?

Possible tease to -4.5 and over 48...thoughts?

Dealing with same thing here.  One of 3 ppl remaining.  Considering Philly, Vikes, Seahawks.  All three should win, but Philly is the better team of the three, and they have the largest spread in spite of playing against the better of the three opponents.  I think Philly is the play for me. 

If I had the Colts available, however, I'd be tempted.  No doubt Manning will be seeing red this week.  However, I think the Colts have more value in the coming weeks than the Eagles do (based on schedule), so I'd likely still take the Eagles.  The Falcons I'd stay away from, personally.  Both the Bucs and the line scare me a little.  Same for the Bears.  They're way overdue for a loss, and Detroit may well give it to them.  Good Luck!

I'll just be watching this one. Watching and hoping that Vick breaks both of his legs, then is killed in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
