I really think the line climbed too high here on Pitt, but I'll take the pts. I know Pitt well and like them but they have trouble covering big numbers. They win by 3-4 too much. Have earmarked this game as the perfect tease on the VIKES. Minny will lead at one point so no way does Pitt cover the 6...but I'm playing it safe.

Agree it will be under a TD either way.

Watched every Steeler game this season and they started each game strong and finished weak. Polamahu (sp??) practiced one day this week. He will play, but obviously is not back to 100%. 6 pts is a lot when Adrian Peterson can just pound at you and Farve throws 10 yarder after 10 yarder.
Pitt may win, but covering 6 is a stretch, I will take Minn +6. Factor in that Big Ben is spending a lot of time running for his life this year, and Minny probably gets to him a couple of times for picks??

Goldsheet:
Minnesota 29 - PITTSBURGH 26—Just think, a couple of months ago we were all wondering how Minnesota might function with Sage Rosenfels at QB. But with Brett Favre (3 TDP last week; now 12 TDs vs.just 2 ints. TY) still able to produce late-game heroics, Vikes still unbeaten as Halloween approaches. Note recent Favre teams 8-3 last 11 as underdogs. It’s doubtful Ben Roethlisberger will be able to lean on his ground game facing the stout Viking rush defense, the Steelers missing run-stopping DE Aaron Smith vs. Vike RB Anthony Peterson. “Totals” alert: Pittsburgh now “over” 49-23 at Heinz Field since early ‘01; Minnesota “over” 5-1 TY with Favre.
I have won more money betting with Farve, whether it was with the Packers OR the Vikings than I have with Pittsburgh. Trends point to an Over on the total and my fear with taking Pitt is Farve tossing one of these 80 yard TD passes with 45 seconds left or AD breaking a big run for a BD cover.
My play is Vikngs + 12.5 and Over 39.5.
Colts -13.5 is my favorite pick for the early games.
Went 8 of 10 Saturday and I'm up about 1500.00 this week. I've been up at least 2400.00 by the end of the MNF game the last 3 weeks so hopefully my winning streak continues this Sunday.
GOOD LUCK everyone.

Now who is being a "little obnoxious." Thanks for the input on the game, too.
This line is crazy. Seems that everyone is on MINN- I was on them when I saw it open at +4. Now jumps up to 6, with 60% of bettors on MINN and about 85% on the Vikes ml, also. None of this makes sense to me and points me to a TD victory for the Steelers as the book laughs to the bank. Am I missing something here?
Mr. Mannix, hello long time no speak...
I am with you... origonally I was on Pitt, as I was on the Ravens last week against this common opponent, and that is the main reason why I initially thought Minn would lose on the road in PITT just like I think they would lose on the road in BALT...
this is the toughest defense that Minn is going to play, and Troy is back.... they are playing outdoor in the cold weather (not 20 degrees cold, but still cold) Farve unfolded last year in the cold weather and any JETS fan knows this....
they are playing the biggest fan base, against the best defense, against the 2nd rated passing offense, and the superbowl champions from last year......
what does PITT do..... they STOP THE RUN..... that is their MO.... they are also really good at jamming the wide-outs, and this receiving corp is very young with exception to Berrian.... they will shut down Peterson (plus he's a little banged up) and they will make Farve beat them... and when Farve has to take over the team that's when he gets intercepted... don't forget he holds the record for most interceptions in the history of the nfl.... Pitt's zone-blitz scheme will confuse Farve... he has only played them 3 times in his career (that stat is from memory, I believe it was 3 times)... this isn't the Lion, Packers, or Bears who he has played in the division with...

on the other side of the ball.... the Steelers found their running game with a shitty o-line but Mendenhall featured as a power-back... Big Ben is having his best season of his career so far and has been torching opposing defenses.... Minnesota's shutdown cornerback is out for the game... oh, and that guy Darren Sharper... yeah he's gone too (Saints) .... look for PITT to air it out often against a team that plays the run very well (except for last week)... Percy Harvin is banged up and questionable... if he doesn't play that is another huge advantage because the Bengals went to their slot receiver often to beat the steelers... he also returns punts and has been giving them great field position this whole year...
this is a dome team on the road playing outside against a team that can match them physically....
do you think Longwell is kicking a 52 yarder in the toughest stadium to kick field goals in?
This game is going to be in the UNDER...
as far as the line movement.... you have to take into consideration the amount of money being put on the Vikings... especially after the line moved to 6.... I cannot believe the line moved this much... this game says trap all over it...... everyone is saying "an undefeated team getting 6 points? I'll take that all day"... that's what vegas wants you to think....
I locked it in at 4 but I am confident they will win by a td... this is my pick of the week.....
and for the people who say "they couldn't hold the cover against Cleveland" well they were giving 14 points.... never lay 14 with a defensive football team.... and I believe Cribbs ran one back.....
Pitt in the Under....
Farve starts turning the ball over often...
the only thing that scares me is that the Steelers havn't been playing well in the 4th quarter, but I bet having Polamolou back changes that this week.....
GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Pitts - 6.5
Pitts is tough as nail at home. Don't think Farve and co can come in here and beat them. This will be a close game bc. both sides will run it a whole lot.
As for these 1pm games, I see the public all over the Favorites and this is mid season now folks. take the dogs, especially the double digit dogs.
St.louis + 15
Bucs +16.5
Cle +9.5
Chiefs +6.5
