I've been a Phins fan all of my life and this couldn't be a better time to bet on Miami as who now has jumped to a 1-point favorite. The Phins are clearly the better team and really impressed me last week vs. the Jets even though it ended in a heartbreaking loss. The AFC East will come down to the Jets / Phins and the Pats will not even be considered in playoff conversation in the 2nd half of the season. 2 reasons why I predict this: their defense is average at best, and their running attack is even worse.
Also: if you would've followed the consensus for this week, and would've bet against the majority, then you would've covered on all but 3 games. Yes- you read that right. The majority of each consensus on the games for this week were only on the right side for 3 games: the Jets, the Texans, and the Chargers. Now I'm seeing nearly 70% are taking the Pats. Do I need to go on?

The New England Patriots have lots of offense and a banged up defense. This Pats offense seems to be back, scoring 30 points per game. But, good defenses can limit them as the Jets did, holding New England to 14 points. The Dolphins pass defense is ranked No. 9 in the NFL. The Pats have allowed 27.3 points per game. The Dolphins have a very effective running game and Henne is becoming better with each game but Miami is averaging just 17.3 points per game period! New England isn't often an underdog but when they are, they have performed well, going 34-19 ATS under Belichick. The Over with the Pats is 25-15 during the first month of the season. The public is backing the Pats 64% and so am I in a close game that is decided in the 4th Quarter!

In order for us to win or even keep this close we need to get to Brady. Our defense let Sanchez finish the game last week with a clean uniform and we cannot do that against Brady and co.
Ricky has been fumbling as of late and really needs to hang on to that damn ball. Ronnie needs to be effective in this one to open up our passing game. If we cannot run the Pats will destroy my Fins tonight.
Both teams know each other very well and have played some crazy games over the years. When it comes to Dolphins/Pats games in doesn't really matter who is having the better year or who has the better players...it all comes down to which team is having the better luck that day.
Tough rival game to wager on....could be a blowout or it could come down to a winning field goal. I'm just glad that I don't have enough guts to wager on it

My Dolphins had a chance to make a statement in the AFC East against the Jets but the outcome was that the Jets exploited the secondary and kept Miami's pass rush in check.
Both the Pats and Dolphins have huge question marks in the secondary and I'm sure both teams will be working throughout the entire week with the defense.
Miami's special teams was horrible giving the Jets great field position on every kickoff to include a blocked punt. That is another area of concern for my Dolphins.
My Dolphins young corners will have their hands full with Moss, Welker, and the Pats up and coming young TE's but I'm hoping my Dolphins will be up to the task.
If I were to wager on this one as I normally don't touch the Dolphins games I would actually wager on the over instead of a side.

Anyways, I can't see it going on the over. The first qrtr will be the key qrtr for the total until the teams make adjustments. I'll have to take my chances and stay on the under. 
The game is going to be real close.
