i am so happy that we finally have the opportunity to beat the pats....
we are a division favorite to win according to ESPN... first time in years....
BUT....
NOBODY SLEEP ON CASSEL....... he backed up at USC... thats the small school that no one knows about and only takes bad players.... or in the real world its HUGE and in the contention for number one every year, and one of the best qb production schools in college football.... he backed up palmer, and leinart.... now he backed up brady..... bill would not keep him on the squad if he didn't have talent.... he is good...... hes not great.... but he is good...... and with moss and welker you really don't have to be great..............
so in your choice for this game, don't sleep on Cassel...
with that being said the jets want to sink their teeth into the pats while they are at theyre weakest, so this will be a very close game (hence the 1 point spread)....... but if you believe in home field advantage then we will prevail...
I never bet with my team.....
LETS GO JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hard to believe how much $$$ is coming in on the Pats here. One thing to always look for in capping is huge QB discrepancies and here we have one. Favre is way better than Cassel and with the game being home for the Jets I like them in a low scoring affair.

farve might be a great quarter back but i have to say castle has more offense to work with and a better defense. way to go jets you just beat........ the miami dolphins who went 1-15 last season and you still almost blew the game.....

We all watched the Patriots dominate last year. Brady was a part of that. He's out but the rest of the team (for the most part) is ready to play. I wouldn't under estimate them.

You're all crazy. The pats dont even need Brady to beat favre and the jets who were barely able to beat Miami. The Pats could have scored more with their new QB but bellicheck just wanted to make sure he got the win. The pats D will score 14 alone. Pats in a blowout

you know.... what pennington did to the jets is exactly what he has done to the Pats for the last few years........
he passes all over the field for short plays, keeps his team in the game... and in the fouth quarter throws an interception....
I think it was a fine performance by the Jets to not lose the game, and without a kicker.......
don't forget it was week 1........ any week 1 win is a good win..... I can't stand the Pat fans saying how we only beat Miami...... you only beat KC....
how do you predict a blowout when the last time they played with moss and brady it was far from a blowout???

I for one am very happy that Brady is hurt.I cheered. For a team that cheated, Gods revenge is coming down on New England this year. Another key player will go down this week for New England, mark my words. Loser of the Super Bowl comes out flat the next year. Eagles, Carolina, Raiders, Chicago. There done, they will not make the playoffs this year, and next year is a rebuilding season for the Pats. And in the rain, no way, I see this Cassell struggling with the wet ball, getting frustrated, and alot of turnovers by New England. Since Brady went down, what did the Pats do, you damn near lost the game to a horrible KC team that struggles to put up points. New England will go 7-9 this year

wow...... as much as i don't agree with your ruthlessness, I do agree with your Cap.... lol....... the wet ball will be a factor... but I figure NE for better than 7-9..... then again you never know.... but they should have lost to KC in my opinion.....

thanks buddy !!! I had KC stright up winning that game, Brady not playing at all with the ankle problem in the preseason, he was bound to get hurt, but a ACL, and MCL I couldn't have asked for more. Dalls next, go birds

Don't forget boys New England still has one of if not the best defence in the N.F.L. If Favre throws up another floater for a touchdown this week it will be back in there End Zone in about 20 seconds for a touchdown. I still think New England's defence shuts Favre down and New England will win a close one by a field goal or four points. Final score N.E. 17 Jets 13. The Jets only beat a nothing Miami team last week and were lucky to do it. N.E. finds a way to win this game.

I love games like this. Between Obama and Farve it is hard to tell which one is the Second Coming. :-)
The Jets did not look that great against Miami. The first TD drive was impressive but it was against Miami. The second was the result of a fourth down 'hail mary' type pass that has been getting Farve in trouble the past few seasons. I'm not taking anything away from Brett but the NY hype is going to drive a lot of action and keep the Jets favored.
I like the Pats here. Cassell is no Tom Brady but he has the supporting cast to easily beat the Jets.

the cheifs and miami are just as bad as eachother....... if you watched the pat game KC had a 1st and goal at the 5 and didn't come up with the score because the D held up..... they held up did their job and won the game..... no one is discrediting them for beating a shitty team (with cassell).... why is everyone commenting on a 4th down play that would have been a field goal had our kicker not been injured......
also, whose better, the KC qb or the Miami QB.......
easily beat the JETS????? the only easy victory against the Jets came in week 1 last year........ and that was with that Miami QB

Well being a die hard Pats fan it's hard to have your QB out for the season. But to listen to people celebrate his misfortune is troubling.
Whether or not Brady plays for the Pats, he is still one of the Best QB's of all time. I will just miss watching him play the game.
On another note, coach B isn't going to keep Cassell around for 4yrs if he wasn't any good. A lot of people are counting the Pats out. There still is a Team there. It's not like there's no talent. Cassell is surrounded by a huge arsenal.
Do I think the Pats go to the Bowl, probably not. Playoffs, yes. Jets - Pats. Small wager on the Pats. And I like the under.
Good luck -

Another Pats fan here chiming in. Cassell obviously doesn't have to be great we know, but this game belongs to the Jets. The emotional pull is clearly on their side for this one with Brett Favre having his first home game away from Green Bay. They didn't do very well last week, but keep in mind that Favre is only going to get better with this offense. Jerrico Cotchery routinely rapes the Patriots, and I look for that to happen once again tomorrow. The Pats will certainly be able to keep up simply because of the weapons they have, but in the end it will just be a little too much to overcome.
Jets ML
Prediction: Jets 20 Pats 14

It wasn't a great game for the Jets, who just as the Patriots had to with the Chiefs, clinched their win in the final seconds against Miami (1-15).
Tom Brady, Great Player, but not their whole offense. Sammy Morris finally getting some time after his injury last year made a statement by outshining Maroney in the Opener maybe looking like a good rushing duo to look at now with Brady out.
Rushing Will be the Key to this game as you saw last week's Jets vs. Fins match-up the Fins combined for a total of 22 rushes for less than 50 yards. I think it'll be easy for Maroney & Morris to pound the Jets for some points tomorrow taking some pressure off of Cassel, who'll have a decent day.
Haven't looked at Total Points. Need more research leaning under at the moment.
Taking the Pats +1.

Did nobody watch the Jets Game last week??
