It's a classic match up in the NFC East as the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants.
While we have been talking about it for weeks, the Dallas Cowboys backs are to the wall as the season started with talks about them being the host in the Super Bowl and one of the favorites from the NFC to make it. With four losses, the dream season for the Cowboys is turning into a nightmare and while nothing has been settled, they have dug themselves a hole. Tony Romo has completed 69.4 percent of his passes for 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions while getting sacked seven times though that doesn't include the hurries ashe's been chased often this season. The Cowboys running game has been uninspiring as Marion Barber has 52 rushes for 175 yards with the lone Dallas rushing touchdown while Felix Jones has 229 yards on 51 carries. Miles Austin is a legitimate number one receiver with 33 catches for 486 yards and two touchdowns and Roy Williams has a fire lit under him as he has five touchdowns and 306 yards. Jason Witten has 23 catches for 270 yards and is still one of Romo's favorite targets. Defensively Bradie James leads the team in tackles with 37 and Keith Brooking is second with 26. Demarcus Ware leads in the team in sacks with seven while having 24 tackles of his own. Dallas only has two interceptions, one each by Danny McCray and Mike Jenkins. For the season the Dallas offense has been averaging 20.4 points and 400 yards per game while the defense is allowing 22.2 points and 281.4 yards.
The New York Giants come into this one as winners of three games in a row and looking like one of the top teams in the NFC. Eli Manning isn't having his best overall season but he has been getting it done. Manning had completed 64.7 percent of his passes for 1,479 yards with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions while being sacked 11 times. Ahmad Bradshaw is the clear number one option in the backfield as he's carried for 582 yards and three touchdowns while fumbling three times and Brandon Jacobs has 207 yards and four scores in a reduced role. Hakeem Nicks has emerged as Manning's go to option with 36 catches for 417 yards and six touchdowns while Steve Smith has 34 catches and 370 yards. Antrelle Rolle is the Giants leading tackler with 37 and an interception while Justin Tuck has 36 with four sacks. Osi Umenyiora has been a sack machine with eight sacks and Mathias Kiwanuka has four as the Giants have 21 sacks as a team. Terrell Thomas and and Deon Grant lead the team with two interceptions each and Tuck has recovered three fumbles. As a team New York is averaging 22.3 points and 370.7 yards per game while the defense is allowing 19.7 points and 264.8 yards per game.
Dallas is 4-1 against the spread in their last five after allowing less than 250 yards the previous game, 1-4 against the spread in their last five Monday Night games, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six overall. New York is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against a team with a losing home record, 11-4 against the spread in their last 15 as a road underdog, and 5-12 against the spread in their last 17 overall. New York has covered four of the last five.
The over is 6-2-1 in the last nine meetings of these two and with the number at 44 and a half, I don't think they have much trouble getting past it. While I'm sure we'll see some hitting and some sacks, both teams will take their shots down field and we'll see fireworks.
I'm on the over

I like everything you said but question Brandon Jacobs. When was the last game you saw that BJacobs look good against anyone. The guy has lost a step. Now with the No Helmet to Helmet Hit rule is being enforced, does brandon run standing straight up or dive into the ground? Thats how he runs. HEAD FIRST! Bradshaw May have some luck but he is no Christopher Johnson. The Running Game will be enough to st up play action pass attack and Eli Manning does it better than anyone. By the way, YES, today as well as yesterdays games proves one thing that we all should remember. IT STARTS W/ THE COACHES! In this meeting, G-men,s Coordinators from both sides of the ball has the advantage.
GMEN - 31
COWBOYS - 21
By the way, I am seriously worried about my team. Hopefully they can turn it around with Bush coming back next game and Thomas shortly after that. They are a perfect example of an unbalanced team. No run game will make you 1 dimensional and predictable. Most of Manings picks were tipped balls that should have been caught. Romo is easily read by teams w/ good pass defense and GMen are #1 in creating TO's
Aloha pickyboy!
my local book said that the Saints/Browns game was Bloodbath for teasers this week..... everyone teased them down to a pick-em or 2.5 point favorites..... including myself haha!
my only evidence for Jacobs performing well against the Cowboys is the last two games.... the one I'm thinking of specifically was when he had two tds, one being a 74 yard catch-and-run which was of course his career high.... (it was actaully very funny to watch the big man run down the field like that!!)
I have been listening to WFAN radio (which if you live in NY you'll know the station).... they have been saying how Jacobs circles the calendar and always gets up for these games vs. Dallas....
The Giants have a chance to end a division rivals season.... they will definitely be playing their best football on Monday Night on a National Stage!
GL TO ALL!

This is a tough one. Dallas has been letting every one down all year. 1-4 ats worst in the league. Appear to be in complete dissarray. The line and total seem to want you to jump all over ny giants and ov. Sd and min were very similar. GB appeared to be kaput and how could you favor the helpless chargers who almost pulled it out by the way. Dallas has some things in its favor
1.Actually less penalties than the the giants!
2. Way better 3rd down percentage and 4th as well.
3. The giants have significantly more pertinent injuries especially on def.
These injuries probably point more to an over since dallas likes to throw more as well. But the oddsmakers know this. Tricky but lookin at 24-17. DAL and Und for the large.

Each team is averaging over 20 points on offense this season and Dallas defense is giving up just over 22 points while the Giants D is giving up just under 20 points. I am all over the over. I think you might even find this goes into OT tonite.
GO COWBOYS!!!!

I'll take the points here tonight. This game should come down to the wire like most of the Dallas games have this year. I'll take the hook on my side instead of trying to climb over it. I do like the over tonight as well. This game should look a lot like the game last night. I think I'll pound the over tonight and play a small two team parlay on the Giants and over.
I totally agree with you Irish. Giants and the points to the over. Dallas will come out with emotion early but that will only help the over. Giants win a close one with a better 4th period than the Cowboys.

Better Coach, Better QB, Better run game, plus points!
Giants
C'mon bro, if you use that logic for every game you'd be broke within 2 weeks if not less. Raiders vs. Broncos yesterday as well as Browns vs. Saints would be a couple arguments against your point. Anyways, enough on that. I'm a homer but I do like Dallas tonight with their backs against the walls as this and many games to come will and should be considered the Super Bowl for them.
COWBOYS -3 (Buy the hook)
