Giants started last season 0-6. Then 7-3. Giants have the QB and the coaching. Could be enough to pull this one out.
Good teams win games, Great teams cover the spread!

Detroit is looking absolutely dreadful this year so far.  New coach for Detroit which takes some getting used to. Nasib seems to have better mechanics than Eli. and better results. To bad he wont get the nod.  Taking the points, it's a short trip to Detroit.

My gut right now says take the Giants +5.5 

It's going to be one of those wild games that is decided by the final minutes like the Lions always seem to get themselves into. 

The Giants offense has played sloppily in preseason that may be true. Their defense might be better this time along with their running game that they sorely missed last season. 

Detroit wins by 4, Giants cover the spread. Though I can see an upset happening. Tom Coughlin going bring some fire back to Big Blue and I can see them taking home the NFC East crown in a tightly contested race between the Eagles.. but what do I know :o

Man, completely new O-Line? New RB's? New WR's? New TE's? New "West Coast" offense? New Offensive Coordinator? I think the only offensive personnel left from last year is Eli, Cruz, and Manningham.......

This does not bode well for the G'Aints who typically start horribly anyways. They may well eventually turn it around midseason, but with this Lions powerhouse "D" line, I'm seeing a lot of false starts, missed blocks, wrong routes run, O-Line holding calls, and Eli picks, fumbles, and Ford Field turf eating......

First thought was DET BIG but some reason not sure what yet have me thinking be a wise guy and go NYG!! Will have my mind made up on this one after sunday games

See alot of people undecided on this game.
First off,lets start by saying that the G-Men went undefeated in the pre-season which is a recipe
for diseaster in the regular season when it counts.
Have seen many teams win all their pre-season games,and when it counts,collapse completely.
That is what I see with New York.
2nd thing is,I looked at the Giants schedule,and the oddsmakers have their win total O/U at 8,
and I gotta tell you,I don't see the Giants winning more then 7 games(At best),and that includes
their game against the Lions.
Giants just have too many changes going on the offensive side of the ball,where I just don't see it clicking,especially in the 1st game of the season(On the Road)
I expect the Lions to cruise in this game and cover easily.

I'll lay the points. But I also like dallas earlier. We all know how THAT turned out.

You know what? SpyTheWeb is right, Giants do have the QB. What they DON'T have in this game is EVERYTHING ELSE!

To quote Monty Python, "Run away! Run away!" My gut tells me that the Lions at home should beat the Giants like a drum. But then these are the Lions we're talking about. They seem to find creative ways of grasping defeat (or near-defeat) from the clutches of victory. And these are the Giants we're talking about - a team whose offense looks anemic yet has an uncanny ability to play well when you least expect it. Still, the Giants don't tend to start out strong. But these are the Lions we're talking about. Sigh.

Lions looking dreadful???  They have to be up there with least points allowed.  Make that 3rd to be exact.

First Monday night game in forever will have the Lions' fans stoked for the opener.  Better passing game and defensive line for the Lions, plus home field, and the Giants usually slow out of the gate.  Hate to give almost a TD in the NFL but I think Lions win by 10.

All this talk about the Giants struggling offense during preseason a lot of people must not believe in New York this year! They have quietly won 7 straight games dating back to last year, i have a hard time buying into Detroi who is overrated every season.t I feel safer putting my money on the Giants now at +7 -125 not to mention New York won at Detroit last season straight up as a 9.5 point dog! 

7 point favorites in the NFL are for the big dogs like San Francisco and Seattle, fade the Lions here.

Your right about the preseason, the Lions when 4-0 in the preseason the same year they went 0-16
