Why am I liking the Jets here, slap me, wake me out of this dream. I took the Texans as a flyer bet on a futures super bowl wager......Why do I like the Jets here????? OK maybe because they are playing an AFC South team, a division they have had ATS success with. Or maybe it's the new coach, or new QB(Sanchez) or maybe because the Texans never covered a spread vs the flyboys(0-3).....It's early, I could change my mind

Houston is on a playoff run,,the Jets are rebuilding with a rookie QB. Big Dolphin fan here, I know the Jets are waiting for there AFC matchups. Houston strong! Andre Johnson will have a field day with the Jets secondary.

The way everyone is picking Houston this line should be at
least 7 but its not moving at all. Houston an overrated team will lose this game because Sanchez will throw only when needed and Thomas Jones will run run run the pads off the home team.
Final score JETS 23 TEXANS 20. To the bank!!!

Admitidly I'm a JETS fan, so I'm a little biased. But I rarely bet the Jets because I'm a fan. Exceptions include Titans game last year, 2nd Pats game in 2007 (in the snow as 24 pts dogs or something rediculous like that). This is another one of those games. The Texans are overrated ever year, and this year.... more of the same. They are not 4.5 better than the Jets and the fact that everyone is on them just makes me feel better. No brainer for me.

I hear what you're saying in regards to the Texans, their on field leadership and 'metal' is very questionable(young team), but the Jets having their top two pass rushers suspended swings this for me...even against the Texans.

Texas has one of the best front fours behind Minn in the NFL and Demeco Ryans will make Sanchez eat the groud a few times. Rookie QB on the road, Rookie coach on the road vs Young team with 2 years under there belt now. Child Pleaze. This game will be a blow out. I wonder who wins by more Dallas or Houston. Houston welcomes Sanchez to the NFL with a big win and Sanchez gets sacked 6 times.

Cant believe this is 1 of my 5 plays because Houston does finally have a couple good building blocks start competing but for some reason I'm feeling -- JETS +4.5

Eagerly taking the points in this one. QB Sanchez... the first rookie signal-caller in Jets franchise history to start a season opener... and, it's a safe bet that HC Ryan and OC Schottenheimer will do all they can to relieve as much pressure as possible by emphasizing steady ball control play calling with RB Jones (led the AFC in rushing LY), tough-as-nails 3rd down back Washington, and three-time Pro Bowl FB Richardson. And, when Sanchez does put the ball in the air... he's got plenty of big-time targets at his disposal.
On the defensive side of the ball... LB Scott followed defensive guru Ryan from the Ravens and adds Pro Bowl talent to an already ferocious "D" that'll be facing a Texan offense headed up by QBs Schaub (still nursing a gimpy ankle) and back-up Grossman... not what you really want when facing Ryan's hard-charging defensive schemes.
Meanwhile, Texans exit pre-season with defensive concerns at DT, OLB, and CB.
Recent history indicates Jets haven't had much difficulty with teams from the AFC South (5-1 ATS L6) or... the Texans (3-0 ATS L3).
NY Jets +4 1/2

This looks like the year Houston can start reversing some of those negative trends. It could start right here with the Jets, who have won the last 3 meetings outright.
Houston - 19 New York - 10
Texans -4.5 under 44
Throw in an Astros - Texans parlay for me.
