Shaub is ready to go.
 
Both teams have good defenses.  Initially I chose the Jets based on last year's defense which is the same this year but they lost Favre.  This game should be Under 45.5.  Houston got a passing game but Jets got decent corners.  Jet's new QB dirty Sanchez is a rookie. I don't see him putting up too many points from the air even though Houston got a weak secondary.

Jet at Texans -4.5 O/U 44.5

Jets have new coach with Rex Ryan (Balt Def coach for 10 yrs) and rookie QB Mark Sanchez getting all the hype. 

But remember Jets are a run team with a good Off line with pro bowlers A Fareca and N Mangold combined with excellent RB's T. Jones and L Washington.

Sanchez couldn't have a better team to start his NFL career with since Texans have a so so secondary. CB Dunta Robinson missed preseason and training camp and Texans have new Def Coord. Frank Bush and new Secondary Coach David Gibbbs. Let's hope there isn't any confusion out there.

Jets have to keep #1 pick in 06 M Williams off their rookie QB. Williams had 26 sacks last yr.

Jets Ryan brought LB B Scott and Safety J Leonhard from his old team Balt to shore up the defense. Also picked up CB L Sheppard from Phil, all from free agency. Jets were bad against the pass last yr and they are trying to shore up the D

Texans M Schaub has a sprained ankle but will start. Their off was ranked #3 last yr and going 8-8 was only because of the 0-4 start, and Schaub playing in only 11 gms. Schaub injury prone? Now they have Dan Orvlovsky from Lions to be backup.

Outstanding WR Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter are why the Texans have high hopes. Johnson led the NFL in receptions and yds last yr.

Texans are passing team but Steve Slaton was the best rookie RB last yr. 

#29 ranked def against the pass vs the #3 ranked pass off

Texans will try and outscore the Jets

Jets will try and control the ball with the run and keep the Texan offense off the field

Well...at half, it's obvious the Texans are still a team....and rudderless ship. I was a afraid of that...Got sucked in matching talent / experience to make my pick...instead of character and grit.
