Giants don't need this game like they didn't need the Dallas game. Starters may play a series then it's a 2 week break for them. Carr, Bradshaw and Ware will be driving the rest of the game. I see a Vike's win, but you never know.
Good teams win games, Great teams cover the spread!

The Vikes will cover here... starters will be in all game for them, Giants will probably start the ones but switch to the 2s after a quarter, Vikes killed the Giants the last few times they played, always as a dog.
Vikes will see it as a must win as the Bears game is 1 oclock also. Anyone that is questionable or worse will sit for NYG. A one TD win isn't much to ask for in this spot at home.

i could see the giants playing hard in this game, i think they still have a bye next week. giants started to stumble a little the past weeks, if i were the coach i'd let them loose.

The Giants have won the last three when at Minnesota (each victory was by at least seven points). This matchup seems downright irrelevant, where it shouldn't spin New York's cogs either way. Still, this is a certain confidence building game, which is what they were lacking the last two weeks leading up to the Sunday night Panthers OT victory.
Even with B Jacobs and Derrick Ward rested, Ahmad Bradshaw will have a tremendous chip on his shoulder here. No Pat Williams once again, and the Vikings are left only to wonder on just how to scout the Giants running game (and which RB), along with another week adjusting with Ray Edwards and Fred Evans substituting.
Haven't liked how Brad Childress prepares his team in instances such as these, and the Vikings have never had their backs more against the wall.
Even if David Carr replaces Eli Manning in the 2nd Quarter, I like the Giants chances.
Outwardly, it would appear the Vikings should wipe out New York here. Not seeing it, nor could I see both Chicago AND Minnesota winning Sunday. The Bears won't have it easy away, yet I still like their odds more so than the Vikings.
A relatively untested T Jackson will be rattled, and his turnovers are severely overdue (it has been 2.5 games now).
Look for a tremendous letdown.
NY Giants 27
Minnesota 23

I don't think coach Coughlin would like to lose a marble game let alone a NFL game even though they have everything locked up, i just think he hates to lose no matter what. I was listening to NFL Access today and all the players sound like they want this one just like any other game so they have the same mentality as their coach. Giants 24-17.

Sup fellas...my mind keeps going back to the asskickings the Vikes put on the NYG posse recently. Pre-Ring yes, but the Purple have to have some confidence coming in as it is. I look at the Atlanta game last week and they almost tied it up late vs. a hella-good Falcons squad despite 7 freaking fumbles, of which I think 3 were pretty deep in ATL territory. The Vikes, even without Big Boy up front, are a fast, aggressive D like Dallas and Philly, both teams that have given the G-Men L's this year. I gotta take the Vikings here with the fairly strong chance Tommy Boy rests some dawgs - last year he had a GOOD reason in week 17 to play balls-out (boost to confidence and team psyche)...not this year.
Vikes rape and pillage 31-14.

...yeah, ok...I suppose they really didn't need to win the Panthers game either...that's why they let them get ahead by 14 then came storming back to win by 6 in overtime...wow...5 years on covers and that is how you start this thread...how no one else found that statement absolutely ludicrous blows me away...sigh
