June 29th thru July 2nd @ Le Golf National same as last year.

British Open exempions to the top three this tourney, the Irish Open and Scottish Open SO wicked important to those that do NOT yet have an Open exemption

Féderation Francaise de Golf set up a VERY tight course last year. winner was Thongchai Jaidee [-11] with Francesco Molinari 2nd [-7]. Bernd Wiesberger won in 2015 [-13] with Graeme McDowell won B2B in 2013 [-9] and 2014 [-5]

top five favorites are Jon Rahm @ 12-1 with Francesco Molinari @ 14-1 and Bernd Wiesberger, Alex Noren, Tommy Fleetwood all 20-1

here are my mostly mid-range to long shot "to win" picks (bet/payout)

I think a VERY important "focus" tourney for Alex Levy. not only his "Home Open" BUT needs at least a 3rd for a British Open exemption as do the rest ex for Wang and Tanihara

Any thoughts on Kaymer? He seems to be very close to playing his best.

My thoughts FWIW are that Kaymer is NOT playing well right now.
He had played pretty well in Germany in the past and last week wasn't good.
In general he hasn't been anything except ordinary.

Interesting Sack. I guess you know you are pretty good when you are labeled "ordinary" and your 2017 US results are T4,T23,T23,T17,T16,T32,T69,T35  bold = Masters & US Open 

I give him a pass on the two recent BMW European Tour events. Both of those immediately followed the Masters and US Open respectively.

I have to agree with sacker17. I faded Kaymer vs Bernd Wiesberger last week and it was a "no sweat" CUT win. was also "Mr Missed Cut" @ BMW PGA and 69th @ The Players with a final round [+6] for tourney [+9]. I "never say never" BUT his "to win" 25-1 looks like NO value and I would fade him this week IF he had a match play vs one of the other "favorites"

I think we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I like him this week.

One last thing. I prefer form vs history, but Kaymer does stand out at Le Golf National

5th, 4th, 12th, 13th last four years here.  Not too shabby.

One thing I think we would all agree on is the too five players in the world are struggling at this time. I realize Spieth won last week but he was far from impressive imo. Day and Rory are struggling big time. DJ seems to have fallen off a bit from that upper echelon level he was at earlier this year. This British Open looks wide open and could be won by a bomber...

What are your guys opinion on Thomas Detry? He looked really impressive to me last week. I'm thinking of playing him this week vs the Barnrat at +100... His game was awfully impressive.

Of the top ten players in the world, most impressive right now to me is Sergio. His game seems dialed in right now. I realize he struggled mightily with the putter at times, but tee to green he looks so solid.

Top guys struggling. I like Sergio as well, sprinkle in some Noren for me.

I like Detry again this week. T25 in debut here last year to go along with some nice form.  

Justin Thomas(has a little hangover) might be a decent pick at the Open.

I am STILL pizzed I did NOT chance the "to make the cut" NO prop on Dustin, Rory, Day and Spieth at the US Open. ONLY loser was Spieth with Dustin +500 and the other three +400

agree the British open could be wide open. a LOT of potential "long shots" I like have NOT qualified yet and need a top three showing here in France, Ireland or Scotland to get in. Thomas Detry played well last week in Munich with a final [-6] for tourney [-16] tie for 2nd with Sergio Garcia and Richie Bland who is finally showing some "life" this season after being competitive last year. disappointed Bland is just a 3-1 "field hand" this week along with Aussie Andrew Dodt who had a share of the lead 3rd round of the BMW PGA but "blew up" Sunday with a [+1] tourney [-7] tied for 6th.

I have already bopped a bunch of "mid-range" to long shot players for the British Open including Brooks Koepka @ 28-1, Tommy Fleetwood @ 40-1 and Alex Noren @ 50-1 along with a bunch of 100-1 or higher "cats & dogs" including Francesco Molinari @ 100-1 and Bernd Wiesberger @ 125-1 . right now the only "name" players I am looking at are Jordan Spieth @ 12-1 and Sergio Garcia @ 18-1 BUT have NOT bet them yet. will definitely take Spieth IF Westgate has him in a "quad" group of Dustin, Rory and Day like at the Masters and US Open

I too like history at a course.
I haven't had time to do the research but since u point out Kaymers history at this course is so good, I would tend to upgrade Kaymer based on history. I just don't think he is playing so good lately.
I need to do some research. Was leaning against Kaymer until u pointed out his good history.
Just got off the golf. Course with my teenage sons and now sitting down at Buffalo Wild Wings with them. Research tonight maybe after a few beers and wings

well actually I have "The Mole" vs Rahm and he was having "problems with his putz" 1st round, PFD

bunch of the leaders with early tee times Friday should be to their advantage. Pieters [-5] Fritsch [-4] Larrazbal [-3] along with Noren [-2] Luiten [-2] and Olesen [-2]

true-true. these kids can ALL hit it a mile BUT if your "putz" don't work you get NO nachos. greens NOT really "tricked up" @ Le Golf National so I do NOT understand the problems players having scoring

Thomas "Salt" Pieters REALLY showing his azz the front side Friday burying and throwing clubs after shots and generally "spraying". was lucky to finish an [even/-5]. his playing partners Alex Noren finish [even/-2] and Ty Hatton a CUT with [-1/+2] 

I got a gift from "Fat Baztard" Lowry vs "The Matthew Mouse" Fitzpatrick. "Fat Baztard with a "blow up" [+6/+9] round vs the "Mouse" [-1/+4] thru #16 so I do NOT have to sweat that match this weekend. unfortunately Dylan Frittelli [+3/+5] thru #17 (damn kid doubles #17) could not take advantage of a George Coetzee [+6/+3] "blow up" thru #12 so THAT match play probably dead

HOPE my man "Stormy" keeps shooting like Friday the rest of the way. finished [-5/-5] to be "in range" for the weekend

I needed it because BOTH my other tourney match play in trouble
