At Torrey pines for the Genesis next week, which we just saw a couple weeks ago. I believe it’ll play harder this time around though. Will do a breakdown likely tomorrow or Monday, but I wanted to get this in early as I think this is a great number on Adam Scott on a course that suits his game very well.

Off the 90-1 winner with Thomas Detry This week we get another run at Torrey pines, with potentially a bit of twist this time around. Basically copying and pasting my preview from a couple weeks ago for the farmers but did change some of this due to the different conditions we should get this week. Ill preface this with the fact that the weather looks really rough early in the week, potential rains and very high winds should bring an interesting test at this long and difficult setup. It also looks like it will be relatively cold which will make this course even longer. With rain brings softer conditions and less roll out on drives in the fairway. I think this week in particular distance off the tee will be absolutely paramount, even more so than a couple weeks ago due to a softer golf course. Again, were looking at small green surfaces and very narrow fairways w/ thick rough which will really challenge these guys off the tee. Torrey pines has consistently played as one of the top 10 most difficult venues on the pga tour and we typically see a winning score of -15 or less, This is a tough setup when it comes to approaching the green as it is very heavy on long irons into these smaller greens. Torrey is also very difficult off the tee and is maybe the hardest course on the pga tour in terms of putting on these bumpy poa greens.
Now you would think you would want to target guys that are accurate off the tee with these narrow fairways and thick rough, but the reality is pretty much everyone will be playing out of the rough here therefore distance IMO is far more important as longer guys will have shorter approaches out of the rough when they don’t hit fairways which is a big edge, especially if we get rain which will likely weed out most of the shorter guys off the tee. Longer hitters off the tee have consistently filled leaderboards at this event. I think it’s also paramount to target guys that are elite long iron players in particular with the wide majority of approaches coming from over 150 yds. Putting always brings a lot of variance and with this being a tougher test I won’t put a lot of weight in putting as even the best putters will have a hard time sinking putts on these greens. I do think around the green play will be very important, as it was a couple weeks ago. Really tough to hit the greens so have to be able to scramble for pars around here. Love the 80-1 number that was available on scott, hes long off the tee, hes a great poa putter, he has a 2nd and 10th in 4 appearances here, and hes been great on approach so far this season. I am also going to pick up tony finau at another number that seems very generous. I played him here at the farmers where he disappointed but i am willing to go back to him on a golf course that is built for his game. This is also about as good as it gets in term of a golf course fit for Rory mcllroy who i want to be on but just usually not interested in betting guys at the top of the board. Other guys that are in consideration include viktor hovland and ludvig aberg. I do think i may wait a bit to monitor weather some more as that will have dictate who i gravitate towards. There are other guys that i am interested in but on a soft golf course like we might see these are the names that are speaking to me at the moment. Will be back
Current outrights:
Tony Finau (45-1)
Adam Scott (80-1)

Really not a Wyndham Clark guy, and I know he hasn’t played well here. But he also hasn’t played here since he leveled up in 2023, this is a bad number on a big ball park where he doesn’t have to hit fairways. I’ll bite
Wyndham Clark (100-1)

Love this setup for Bobby mac, he’s got a lot of upside off the tee which will be rewarded here, one of the best long iron players in this field, and knows how to close a tournament when in contention. May add 1 more
Robert Macintyre (50-1)

An will be starting on 2nd base at this golf course after absolutely demolishing driver. Great long iron player, I’ll grab a positional on him and maybe an outright doing some more digging. I will consolidate this mess tomorrow night into 1 post once everything’s in
Top 20 (ties included):
Byeong Hun An (+170)

@Rollz Like Macintyre.....Going to be raining a bunch....hope Adam Scott can play well in these conditions as well.... Great Call on Detry.....keep the plays coming.....
Looks like it’ll clear up on the weekend, but we should see some wind and that course will be much softer than we saw a couple weeks ago. Long off the tee, and high level long iron approach play should be an edge. With that being said there will be a couple shorter guys that play well just by slamming a bunch of fairways, will be slightly easier given the softer course. Just tough to pin point who that will be
Thanks friend

Guys I LOVE the odds on the Lead Round One and Win: Theegala 500 - 1 Hovland 400 -1 Hun An 400 - 1 English 400 -1 Bradley 400 - 1 Detry 400 -1 Finau 300 - 1 JT 90 - 1
This is interesting, surprised the value you can get going this route. I don’t mind this, whoever plays well round 1 in what appears should be the most difficult conditions of the week will definitely have a leg up on the field. Like a few of these guys, BOL man

Gonna be tough to get one of these outrights through with scheffler and Rory both on the board. Think we’ve got a shot with Ludvig and potentially Wyndham, 5/6 +money positionals are still in play which I’m happy with. Should be a fun finish regardless

Like our chances with Ludvig 2 back going into Sunday, currently the betting favorite. We got what we wanted with scheffler and Rory fading a little. Finau has an outside shot as well sitting 4 back.
Gotta love a good Sunday sweat

Can we get a a Finau or Cantlay win please?! Two great golfers, each who deserve a W!
I would like that, each would be profitable for me, cantlay for Dfs purposes. They both got a shot, Id expect some adversity for Rodgers and McCarthy today
